black gerbil1 Posted 13 July 2008 Posted 13 July 2008 First of all hello, this is my first post on the site I went on the LCFC site today to look at the prices for there first game. I think the ticket price is a bit expensive, £15 to watch a division 1 (league 2) team, not to be nasty but Leicester don't exactly play the best style of football. I think £11/12 would be a fairer price. Agree/Disagee? Sorry if I put this in the wrong section.

It's all relative, they're all expensive £23 for adults, £21 for Seniors on that basis £15 isn't too bad.
Maybes Posted 13 July 2008 Posted 13 July 2008 If you take a look out LCFC's first away game of the season its £11 for students and thats to see stockport
black gerbil1 Posted 13 July 2008 Author Posted 13 July 2008 Its football and the end of the day. that makes no sense but okay It's all relative, they're all expensive £23 for adults, £21 for Seniors on that basis £15 isn't too bad. Yeah I can see were your coming from, from that aspect, although WBA do £20 a ticket to some of there home games, I just think its a bit steep for £15 for a game in a league 2 below the top league.

Thats how much you will have to pay. Get used to it. Football is a business aswell.
act smiley Posted 13 July 2008 Posted 13 July 2008 Leicester's ticket prices are toward the upper end of League One prices, but its one of those situations where the system as a whole is a bit messed up, there's no way of being able to cut prices without reducing costs, which given the relegation would mean getting rid of half the squad so its just one of those things. The club isn't making endless stacks of cash like some premiership teams that charge £60-a-pop, so there's no alternative. Besides, the £15 student prices used to be £21 like the OAP ones so there's nothing to complain about at all, really.
Unabomber Posted 13 July 2008 Posted 13 July 2008 Yeah most football tickets are overpriced, but so are most things. If you like something you buy it, and I for one like watching Leicester whenever ever I can and am more than willing to pay £15 to do so whatever division we are in.
Daggers Posted 14 July 2008 Posted 14 July 2008 I think the ticket price is a bit expensive Well, there you go...I wonder what your options are?

I think WBA will be getting the benefit of a higher revenue stream elsewhere, to be fair.

Guest Posted 14 July 2008 Posted 14 July 2008 You can't base ticket prices on how exciting the football is. Think how cheap last seasons games would have been if it were (apart from the odd one or two)
Guest Posted 14 July 2008 Posted 14 July 2008 Think how cheap last seasons games would have been if it were (apart from the odd one or two) Cheap? They would have been paying us to watch it!!
black gerbil1 Posted 14 July 2008 Author Posted 14 July 2008 by the way! thanks Think your behind the times son!Non league football is that price! Just get arseholed like the rest of us and the football will look great!!!.....Well maybe not!! I dont like getting drunk before a game, not in the mood to get stabbed by some chav on the walk up to the ground (unless your buying the drinks ) I would not mind paying the £15 by the few times I watched Leicester Last season, they were shocking, were sort of paying the players wages, I expect for them to at least try there best. (although I did go to wtch them V WBA with a 4-1 win )
Asha Posted 14 July 2008 Posted 14 July 2008 thanks Yeah welcome too mate. I agree it's overpriced and not value money sometimes, but we don't have to pay our money and watch...it's the choice that we make I guess.

I just think that Leicester need to adopt some sort of system, if they don't play well, the fans get a certain percentage of the price of there ticket back, I have no idea how to implement this though. I heard Portsmouth were thinking of doing something similar I don't know how far they got with the idea though.
Vardinhio Posted 14 July 2008 Posted 14 July 2008 It'd be great wouldn't it but unfortunately clubs use these ticket sales as a key income. It's nearly unheard of for a club to give the fans some money back for a poor performance, think it may have happened once over the last 10 years but a full standing system on that basis will never exist.

He says he thinks the prices are a bit steep and you say he's not a true fan? For all you know he could have gone to every game this year. Arse. Anyway I completly agree. The prices are a bit steep but unfortunatly so are prices everywhere so we're just going to have to live with it. Oh and welcome to the forum.
