We tried our best but we have too many sit-down merchants to make any atmosphere at games like that.

Sorry for intruding on yer site lads/gals..but Cobblers fan here. We're also bemoaning the same as yourselves..after taking our allocated 3500 to MK Dongs..atmosphere p!ss poor. Too many families (sitting) looking at you disgussted that you should use a boo word, sing or any other bloody demonstration of passion !!! For weeks Cobbs ave been going on bout showing the (MK) Dongs bout being real fans..day comes..n most of the crowd thought they were at a picnic or watching the bloody Olympics (prob not far off at Stadium..erm MK :P ) Some will agree..others slate you..but it's not just Leicester suffering from Post middleclasspicnicdisorder :@

btw..we'll bring more than Dongs to your place...make more noise..hope so! :chant:

Maybe because you failed to beat their joke of a club - you did football a disservice as it is the duty of every team to crush that side. Now go hang your collective heads in shame.

...We were outplayed for most of the afternoon - despite ref being..well erm..below par!!. Gray didn't do a lot to change things

Cup final...why? ...If stadiums constitute Cup finals..we've enough 'cup finals' to last a life time!!!..

..on seeing a world class slick team at the Walkers...no! ;)

Excuse me, we are a Premier League club in everything but the name. You listen to the Radio Leicester phone-in tomorrow, they will tell you the same thing ;)

The cockwad sitting in front of us yesterday was adamant that was the case. He paid nearly £36 to get to Stockport, you know.

Did he still think Martin O'Neill was our manager?

We've started going to city every week as a family after a good few years of going once and a while and we always buy tickets close to the away support and the big bloke with the drum :chant: as we all love a good shout even the mrs enjoys making up her own words especially to "When I'm smiling..." I think making a noise is a massive part of the game and why people don't don't get involved is beyond me :dunno: :dunno:

MK was a superb atmosphere where we were and we all thoroughly enjoyed it, Stockport in the cup was piss poor and at one point I swear I was the only person standing up to "If you love Leicester..." in the entire block :frusty: :frusty:

So from our point of view ... more singing please :chant: :chant: :chant:

To be honest, I would be surprised if he knew what day of the week it was.

Made all the more impressive (or unimpressive depending on how you look at it) by the fact that he's sat watching football at 3pm. :giggle:

I wasn't taking the piss out of you then btw, it occurred to me that it might have come across that way.

For me, unreserved seating makes much more sense.

I would have thought it would be best for all parties concerned, stewards and all. The problem yesterday was seat numbers being printed on tickets and people being told differently to what was really the case. When people bought their tickets they were told it would be unreserved seating and when we entered the stadium yesterday we were told by stewards it was unreserved also.

For me personally it's a great deal better. It means I can sit with all my mates without any hassle and we don't have to piss anybody off at the same time. I did hear one point raised about it being worse for families because they wouldn't be able to find seats together but in my opinion that's the responsibility of that family to be in the ground early enough to secure seats together. It shouldn't really be an issue.

People who want to stand can head to the back and people who want to sit and be nearer the action can do so at the same time. It just makes sense surely?

Yeah but since when has common sense ever prevailed at football? <_<

As I said I'm all for unreserved seating but there is a problem if the stand sells out because you get random single seats spread though out, late comers then have to either sit alone or get stewards to move people along to create 2/3/4 seats together - That's what I believe occurred yesterday.

I know, don't worry. I won't beat you up, I'm an ickle kitten weally!

Obviously unreserved seating has its advantages, but it can cause problems, especially when the away end is full. Like some people have said, lots of people leave 'personal space' between themselves and other supporters meaning that there are single seats scattered all over the place and the inevitable late-comers can't find a seat which causes problems for everyone. Also, its amazing how long it takes some people to choose a seat when its unreserved, I seen a couple yesterday take about 10 minutes to choose a seat. Unreserved seating will only work if their is some logic when people are choosing where to sit, unfortunately people who don't want to sing/stand took seats at the back because it was a better view than at the front.

As for our supporters who are not interested in singing etc, I don't see it changing anytime soon. They pay their money and go to a lot of aways game and they have every right to do what they want, and if that means not singing then thats unfortunate for the ones that do want to sing. I can't see how you can change that, to be fair without them most of our away turn-outs would be shocking number wise.

good man, now it's nice to hear that some families are getting shown the right way to attend a football match.

I hate this new horn blowing 8 year old that originates with a blue Leicester flag from the North Stand, I did not need a flag to realise what being part of the club meant to me.

How very true, RF.

A simple case of it being impossible to please all the people all of the time.

Unallocated seating in the Kop at Filbo worked OK, apart from the fact that we always had to go right in the far corner by the away fans (which wasn't a popular spot) because we were always the last to arrive at the ground. It was pretty good, apart from we often were in close proximity to that slightly odd bloke in the glasses with the little radio who is always telling complete strangers that Wolves are winning regardless of whether they're interested or not. I assume they got rid of it because of the (ahem) 'public order' issues that used to arise.

Here's a question that I honestly don't know the answer to: When you buy away tickets, and there are allocated seats, do you get any choice whatsoever about where you sit? I don't know the answer, because one mate of mine always goes to get the tickets for the rest of us. We ended up right on the back row at Norwich last season and I don't think any of us had any desire to be there at all, and that was a game where there seemed to be a lot of issues over people being in the wrong seats, particularly people wanting to be at the back that had tickets for elsewhere. A friend of mine went to Derby away two seasons ago and swore never to go to an away game again having similarly ended up on the back row 'surrounded by wankers' (she has since calmed down a bit and has started travelling again). It seems to be a bit of a lottery, doesn't it?

I think what you tend to find is that the singing section of the away support try and gather at the back of the stand whether or not there ticket is there. This is so they can stand and sing and no affect the view of those fans wishing to sit down and watch the game.
