Samilktray Posted 21 August 2008 Posted 21 August 2008 So he's supposed to keep his expectations to himself but it's ok for you to make a sweeping generalisation like that. You're making yourself look a prat with this attack. Some one had to say this.
Alexikokopops Posted 21 August 2008 Posted 21 August 2008 Yes well done. Coming on here moaning because you only got a B instead of an A, I think I have gathered who the Nob is. Keep your expectations to yourself then. And moan and cry about your B to yourself. I'm sorry, but you are actually being a nob here. He didn't "moan and cry" about getting a B. He said he was a bit dissapointed. This thread is for exam results. Some people are going to do well, some people aren't. If you're not mature enough to accept that people might be disspointed with a B when they've been predicted an A then you probably shouldn't be posting in here. I don't know whether you're just incredibly jealous or what, but seriously, grow up.
Uncle Albert Posted 21 August 2008 Posted 21 August 2008 So he's supposed to keep his expectations to himself but it's ok for you to make a sweeping generalisation like that. You're making yourself look a prat with this attack. Not at all. Yes he has done well with his results but coming on here broadcasting that he is upset only to get a B instead of an A is bad when a lad earlier posted his results and he couldnt get a Plumbing apprentership, think of that lad. Didnt see many people sticking up for him then telling him it will be alright. But he comes on and says he only got a B instead of an A. Ow no his life is over.
Micky Ruddle Posted 21 August 2008 Posted 21 August 2008 Well done, mate. Proud of you. Thanks mate. Going to college now will be a bonus. I'm going for sports coaching but I get the feeling they're pushing me forward for cricket coaching because of a more successful achievements. But I would love to do football
syston_fox Posted 21 August 2008 Posted 21 August 2008 I think we're all missing the real point of this thread and that is: What the hell kind of subject is that? History (American West + Medicine Through Time) Scares me just thinking about that one!
Simi Posted 21 August 2008 Posted 21 August 2008 AoWW I think you're being a little harsh on Albert, I think it all boils down to personal experience. I know for a fact that it annoyed me when a 'friend' of mine was so heartbroken that they didn't get an A* that they asked for it to be remarked on the spot, some people can come over a little arrogant and I can see why it gets some peoples goats up.
Nod.E Posted 21 August 2008 Posted 21 August 2008 Thanks mate. Going to college now will be a bonus. I'm going for sports coaching but I get the feeling they pushing me forward for cricket coaching because of a more successful achievements. But I would love to do football Quality. Good luck mate. Oh yeah, that reminds me. I got a 'sports leaders UK level 1 Award in sports Leadership' too. Whatever that means?

Scares me just thinking about that one! Hahaha. It's a shocker. I struggled for 2 years doing this. Not so keen on reading. It certainly showed.

I agree. But I only said I was a little disappointed. Which anyone would be if your results didn't match your expected results.
Tabou Posted 21 August 2008 Posted 21 August 2008 *sigh* Totally agree. All exams and qualification results are entirely down to how much effot you put in. In my industry, we constantly have to take exams and qualifications just to keep our jobs. If Nod.e was expecting an A, but achieveda B (And, it is an achievment!) and feels a bit dissappointed by that, bloody fair play to him. One of the biggest problems with the yoof of today is that nobody has any expectations. Nobody wants to be anybody. Everybody wants to be told "It's alright". Well it's bloody not. Why should we have sympathy for people who failed their exams? Can they honestly say they put 100% of their time and effort into them? Unlikely. Personally, Nod.e, bloody well done mate. To anyone who didn't achieve enough grades/points/whatever to get into their choice of college/career, do it again next year. But try harder.

syston_fox Posted 21 August 2008 Posted 21 August 2008 Hahaha. It's a shocker. I struggled for 2 years doing this. Not so keen on reading. It certainly showed. History: American West and Medicine through time? Sounds like a course on Dr Quinn: Medicine Woman!
Micky Ruddle Posted 21 August 2008 Posted 21 August 2008 I agree. But I only said I was a little disappointed. Which anyone would be if your results didn't match your expected results. You have every right to be disappointed on a personal note. Like me, i was hoping for a couple of b's. I didn't get it, but looking on the bright side, i can get into college.
Samilktray Posted 21 August 2008 Posted 21 August 2008 Well this thread has been completely derailed thanks to a few peoples views. I got a pass in my Business course. (Turned up for half the lesson and passed... nice) And a G in maths retake. (Didn't go to the lessons and didnt do coursework/exam... and still got graded)
Micky Ruddle Posted 21 August 2008 Posted 21 August 2008 History: American West and Medicine through time? Sounds like a course on Dr Quinn: Medicine Woman! Haha. The teacher was good. But this student failed <_< Did anyone on this forum ever take this topic?
Jaspa Posted 21 August 2008 Author Posted 21 August 2008 when a lad earlier posted his results and he couldnt get a Plumbing apprentership, think of that lad. Didnt see many people sticking up for him then telling him it will be alright. Cheers 4 that, but your making me sound like a retard, when i was in top sets for everything, in year 10 being predicted a-a*'s, and getting c at the start of year 10, and some how ive managed a complete disgrace to myself, but i dont care, ill retake it and pass it, i dont give a flying donkey shit, im passing it

Don't get me wrong - I accept the point Albert is trying to make, it's just he seems to have picked a target who made a perfectly innocent comment about his own, personal disappointment. And that's the point - it's personal to him. I didn't see any of Nod.E's comments as being arrogant in any way. Perhaps others interpreted it differently. I certainly didn't feel it warranted the grief Albert gave him.

Tevez Posted 21 August 2008 Posted 21 August 2008 I picked up 4 A's from Btec this year, I messed GCSE's up last year but it's your own fault and got to get on with it. It's gutting when you miss out by One GCSE to do A Levels and in many peoples situation, people would kill for another C or B.
Samilktray Posted 21 August 2008 Posted 21 August 2008 A G? I thought it only went down to E! It just says G. Im taking it as a grade, i was messed about with the Maths module i was taking anyway so i lost interest. Just gonna do it in key skills at college next year.

I certainly didn't feel it warranted the grief Albert gave him. As you say, personal. Yet it's being discussed on a public forum. Exam results are usually a very sensitive area for people and the slightest thing can upset people, which it has done to me in the past. Whether people deserve to fail or not, people fail and get dissapointed, reading stuff similar to what has been posted on here can sometimes be a soar point for people having seen friends go through similar things.
Nod.E Posted 21 August 2008 Posted 21 August 2008 If they are personal expectation as you say, why not keep them personal? I'm very sorry for expressing my slight disappointment in a grade.
