Nod.E Posted 21 August 2008 Posted 21 August 2008 Mixed emotions. I know my results are good. But i'm disappointed. I said yesterday that I want an A in maths, everything else is a bonus. I got all the bonuses. But not the A i was hoping for. A*'s: 3. (double award Ict btec. Religous Education.) - I'm gonna be the next pope. A's: 3 (English literature. English Language. Business Studies.) B's: 4 (Maths , Science, Humanities, Additional Science.) C's: 1 (French) I'm pretty pleased, especially with my A's. Just my maths that is stopping me from being over the moon.

Because a B is so bad? Think about people who cant stay on at 6th form now or they cant get an apprentice job. GCSE's hardly count for anything now compared to A Levels.

GCSE's hardly count for anything now compared to A Levels. You think I don't know this? It's just when you've been getting A's and A*'s throughout modules and courseworks... And you end up with a B. It's a bit of a let down when you have your sites on an A. I'm not saying i'm devastated. I'd have taken a B at the start of year 10. I just could've done better.

Think of others.
Nod.E Posted 21 August 2008 Posted 21 August 2008 Well stop moaning then. Think of others. I was the one there for people who didn't get the 5 C's letting them cry on my shoulder. I KNOW that they'd give a lot for my grade. But that's them. I'm allowed to have my own expectations. Nob.

GCSE's hardly count for anything now compared to A Levels. Why? Why should he think of others? If somebody cannot stay on at 6th form, it's their own fault for not working hard enough.

But that's them. I'm allowed to have my own expectations. Nob. Yes well done. Coming on here moaning because you only got a B instead of an A, I think I have gathered who the Nob is.
Nod.E Posted 21 August 2008 Posted 21 August 2008 I appreciate the point you are trying to make but, in fairness, it's all relative to the individual and their own expectations. Exactly.
AoWW Posted 21 August 2008 Posted 21 August 2008 Yes well done. Coming on here moaning because you only got a B instead of an A, I think I have gathered who the Nob is. Behave.
Uncle Albert Posted 21 August 2008 Posted 21 August 2008 Exactly. Keep your expectations to yourself then. And moan and cry about your B to yourself.
Nod.E Posted 21 August 2008 Posted 21 August 2008 Yes well done. Coming on here moaning because you only got a B instead of an A, I think I have gathered who the Nob is. Yes and people will come on here moaning because they only got a D instead of a C. It's the same thing. Their target was a C, mine was an A. I think everyone on here understands that the person here who is the nob is the one who isn't quite grasping this stuation.

Nod.E Posted 21 August 2008 Posted 21 August 2008 Keep your expectations to yourself then. And moan and cry about your B to yourself. I was merely saying I could've done a bit better. I'm barely crying. Everyone will moan about their disappointments whether it's a D or if it's a B. It's the same thing, it's their expectations they failed to meet.

But yours is nothing. Worry about not getting an A when you are doing A Levels.

Worry about not getting an A when you are doing A Levels. Not exactly, They could easily get 5 C's in subjects elsewhere of Maths. You only need 5. Not getting one grade will not stop you from staying on. So ultimately it's the same. I know a B is better than a D, obviously. But it's all about our personal targets.

So he's supposed to keep his expectations to himself but it's ok for you to make a sweeping generalisation like that. You're making yourself look a prat with this attack.
