Benji Posted 21 August 2008 Posted 21 August 2008 Nod.E, I re-took a maths exam in A Levels (c1) because I knew I had messed up ONE question. I got 1 mark off an A, but I re-took it and got 96%. High expectations are healthy, they will get you very far in life. Well done everyone so far.
AoWW Posted 21 August 2008 Posted 21 August 2008 If they are personal expectation as you say, why not keep them personal? Erm, it's an internet forum - many people post personal opinions, surely that's the point? At no point did you keep your own opinions private. Apologies, but it is not down to you to dictate what people can/can't post on here.
Micky Ruddle Posted 21 August 2008 Posted 21 August 2008 It made me laugh, and sick today. As i walked in school to pick up the results, i saw a couple of people laughing and smiling. The obvious question asked, what did you get? The response, E's F's G's U's They was laughing. Laughing?! They failed, and couldn't give a dam. <_< Just expressing my feeling
Tabou Posted 21 August 2008 Posted 21 August 2008 I expressed my feelings once. Got a caution for a lewd act.
Alexikokopops Posted 21 August 2008 Posted 21 August 2008 If they are personal expectation as you say, why not keep them personal? Why is there a thread on a public forum called "GCSE Results Day" if everyone was going to keep their results personal? You could just as easily say "why didn't the lad who messed things up keep it personal as well"? It was certainly his personal expectation that he would do well enough to get his plumming apprenticeship. Hell, why don't we just mention nothing personal on this forum! I'll close the "How was your day?" thread right away! At the end of the day Nod.E didn't "broadcast it" as you said earlier. He just said once that he was a bit dissapointed with his B in Maths. You drew one hell of a lot more attention to it than it otherwise would've got. I certainly wouldn't have noticed it at all if there hadn't been a two page "discussion" about it afterwards.

Tabou Posted 21 August 2008 Posted 21 August 2008 Haha. I already have But mother is nagging me to get another. USC i'm hoping to go for If you don't get that job, but get into Topman, do not put your dissapointment on this forum.
Samilktray Posted 21 August 2008 Posted 21 August 2008 If you don't get that job, but get into Topman, do not put your dissapointment on this forum. So in your personal opinion USC's better than Topman?
Tommeh Posted 21 August 2008 Posted 21 August 2008 My sister pissed all over mine from 2 years ago I'm now leaving the country to escape her gloating. EDIT: VIA ROB YOUNG AIRWAYS. FRESH OUTTA YEOVIL

Samilktray Posted 21 August 2008 Posted 21 August 2008 My sister pissed all over mine from 2 years ago I'm now leaving the country to escape her gloating. This is my biggest fear 2 years from now. Dont fcking start!
Nod.E Posted 21 August 2008 Posted 21 August 2008 So in your personal opinion USC's better than Topman? Hahaha. Oh dear, don't. Just don't. There are people on this forum who are happy with Mcdonalds.
lcfc_jme Posted 21 August 2008 Posted 21 August 2008 There are people on this forum who are happy with Mcdonalds. And one of them is not me. Getting back on topic, well done to everyone on their GCSE results. Though, there is a real gulf in difficulty between them and the second year of A-Levels (not so much AS-Levels, funnily enough).
Nod.E Posted 21 August 2008 Posted 21 August 2008 Nice. Well done Nussul, Nod.e, Brewer fox (?) and everyone else. Now get a summer job you sponging studenty b*stards. Haha. Thanks. I have one. Thanks to my mum <_<

James. Posted 21 August 2008 Posted 21 August 2008 I certainly didn't feel it warranted the grief Albert gave him. Of course it didn't. If more people had the same attitude as Nod.E then there wouldn't be as many people moaning about failing. The more you post the more of an idiot you look Albert. Give it up for fuck's sake.
lcfc_jme Posted 21 August 2008 Posted 21 August 2008 Yes i discovered this, unfortunately. As did I when I fucked up my A2's in January.. Managed to sort my life out and kind of pull it back together in June though, thankfully. I now know that when I get to uni I can't rest on my laurels and expect to just coast through. Valuable life lesson learned, methinks.

It's also worth remembering that if you fail a (core) module at Uni then you have to resit it but you still keep the original mark. My housemate found that out the hard way. We had two exams in teh January of our first year and he realised he didn't have enough time to revise for both so he decided to ignore one and concentrate on the other. He managed 5% in the one he ignored and only found out afterwards that he had to resit it but couldn't improve his mark, haha.
