Stevosevic Posted 12 September 2008 Posted 12 September 2008 Most people who don't live their think it is a dump and full of crime. I like it though, and i have never lived there.
darren7 Posted 12 September 2008 Author Posted 12 September 2008 Spelling it correctly would be a start! yea im sorry didnt mean to id be studying history and then possibly a teaching degree after and a lot of people have told me its one of the best universities in the uk but no one seems to know anything about the city
darren7 Posted 12 September 2008 Author Posted 12 September 2008 What sort of thing do you need to know? well i was just wondering about the city itself like si it massive or quite a small city as im from a town it will be a big change , and apart from that i was just really wondering if it was a nice place to live and if anyone actually had any views on the uni
Simi Posted 12 September 2008 Posted 12 September 2008 We've just had a massive new shopping centre with cinema/theatre/food court etc.

Webbo Posted 12 September 2008 Posted 12 September 2008 well i was just wondering about the city itself like si it massive or quite a small city as im from a town it will be a big change , and apart from that i was just really wondering if it was a nice place to live and if anyone actually had any views on the uni It's a medium sized city, very multi cultural. It's almost the dead centre of England so you're not too far from anywhere. Ooh and the local football team are shit.
Zingari Posted 12 September 2008 Posted 12 September 2008 the fact that the tourist industry was first developed in leicester should tell you alot

It's almost the dead centre of England so you're not too far anywhere.Ooh and the local football team are shit. im from a town on the north coast of northern ireland called coleraine we have a uni but its good at science and things like that i could go to queens in belfast but i hate belfast and im sure you have all heard of its problems Not a huge city and in the center sounds very good to me and ive heard geting a plane home would be afforable and easy enough too. talkign about football the town i come from holds the worlds biggest youth tournament, and i support my local team and ive got to watch players like giggs beckham joe cole etc playing at their home ground and one thing that appeals to me about leicester is the amouny of teams actually
Samilktray Posted 12 September 2008 Posted 12 September 2008 I though my spelling was bad Yours is embarassing.
sdb Posted 12 September 2008 Posted 12 September 2008 I went to the uni (i only knew little bits of it as i only came for the footy) and loved my time there. The city is big but not scarily large like London/machester/brum type places. You get to know your way around after a few months (or quicker if you're ever sober). The uni is highly regarded, the campus is relatively small which is nice and your accomodation (a few miles from the campus) will be pretty decent, not too expensive (compared to most places) and will help u meet lots of new people. Nightlife is ok, if you're from a smaller place you'll be impressed i reckon. Good mix of people in the city, heavy crime not evident the places you'll go. Pretty ladies and lots of students at DMU down the road too. Lots of them fitties too but for some reason harder to pull as i vaugley recall. But they're stupid there so kinda makes sense. I'd highly recommend, but learn to spell it!
Libertine Posted 12 September 2008 Posted 12 September 2008 Ooh and the local football team are the shit. Agreed.
