Phube Posted 8 October 2008 Author Posted 8 October 2008 ... all those in favour of banning Phube from Foxes Talk say aye? I bet you loved it as a kid, and it's still one of the best RPG's EVER!!!
potter3 Posted 8 October 2008 Posted 8 October 2008 You spout all this Nintendo crap and you've never played Pokemon?
Phube Posted 8 October 2008 Author Posted 8 October 2008 ... it isn't an RPG. How so? Turn based battles, you play the role of a Pokémon trainer, Level grinding, lots of Text! What else is there?
Finnegan Posted 8 October 2008 Posted 8 October 2008 How so?Turn based battles, you play the role of a Pokémon trainer, Level grinding, lots of Text! What else is there? I dunno, mh, I always figured games needed a sense of character development to be proper RPGs. I mean games like Deus Ex, typically an FPS, has oft' been considered an RPG because of the nature of it's progression. Games like Baldurs Gate, of course, Final Fantasy, et cetera; they're what I'd classify as true RPGs? But then people consider Zelda an RPG and to me I've always just seen that as a sort of adventure / puzzler?

But Pokémon is character developmnent (but your montsers are the ones that develop). A 'proper'RPG in any sense of the word!

AmericanScott Posted 8 October 2008 Posted 8 October 2008 Your character also developes. The gym badges enable what level your Pokemon can be without them disobeying you. Well, at least in Blue and Red.
