SamL Posted 16 October 2008 Posted 16 October 2008 Lathaniel Rowe-Turner has this afternoon (Thursday) joined Cheltenham Town on a one-month loan deal. The teenage central defender has joined up with former City boss Martin Allen at Whaddon Road. Rowe-Turner has been a regular for the Academy and Reserves in recent seasons and on Tuesday played a part in the second string's 2-1 victory at West Brom. We like loaning them players don't we? He's nowhere near our first team at the moment so it'd be good for him to get some first team action under his belt.

DB11 Posted 16 October 2008 Posted 16 October 2008 We like loaning them players don't we? If you have Football Manager you will understand this more, Leicester City are Cheltenham Town's Parent Club I saw it on Teletext and Sky Sports
Samilktray Posted 16 October 2008 Posted 16 October 2008 Gewon Lathaniel! Im wanting a Cheltenham shirt so badly now.
Tabou Posted 16 October 2008 Posted 16 October 2008 Well this is getting a bit silly now Martin. Yes, it is. Next thing he will be down at Belvoir Drive of an Evening, stealling our plants from our flowerbeds. B*stard.
lookwhaticando Posted 16 October 2008 Posted 16 October 2008 Well this is getting a bit silly now Martin.Take care, LD3.
davieG Posted 16 October 2008 Posted 16 October 2008 Worley's loan to Luton ends this week unless they extend it.
Munzie Posted 16 October 2008 Posted 16 October 2008 Exactly so why only a month? Yep. Fail to see the point in this myself. Unless Martin Allen is unsure of his potential to make an impact in the team. Easier to give back if it goes wrong and can extend if it works out.

Samilktray Posted 16 October 2008 Posted 16 October 2008 I thought he was there longer, but obviously the OS says longer.

lildave3 Posted 16 October 2008 Posted 16 October 2008 He's unlikely to play, they have 7 loanees in their squad.

lildave3 Posted 16 October 2008 Posted 16 October 2008 I have it on good authority he should be in the squad at least saturday. Ridiculous. I know Cheltenham's defence is shit but surely it's not that bad?

Thracian Posted 16 October 2008 Posted 16 October 2008 A guy of unfulfilled potential thus far, at least from the games I've watched. Hopefully the move will do him good.
Munzie Posted 16 October 2008 Posted 16 October 2008 A guy of unfulfilled potential thus far, at least from the games I've watched. Hopefully the move will do him good. Not quite sure what he'll fulfill in a month but any league one experience will be very useful. I did wonder if this is with a view to playing him in the near future. But, if you say he is a little way off yet... I can see Hayles, for example, playing a part in out first team given current injuries and now that he is potentially match sharp. Maybe this is what very short loan deals are all about.
Alexikokopops Posted 16 October 2008 Posted 16 October 2008 Aren't you only allowed to go on a month loan out of the transfer window? Edit: This is aimed at the people who said "why isn't it longer?".
Jimmy Posted 16 October 2008 Posted 16 October 2008 Aren't you only allowed to go on a month loan out of the transfer window?Edit: This is aimed at the people who said "why isn't it longer?". maximum length of 3 months, you can either extend 1 at a time or just make it for the full 3 in the 1st place
Alexikokopops Posted 16 October 2008 Posted 16 October 2008 maximum length of 3 months, you can either extend 1 at a time or just make it for the full 3 in the 1st place Ah fair enough.

Salieri Posted 16 October 2008 Posted 16 October 2008 Yeh could be but surely he will not be at his beast afer a month were as a free month one would have been better. Hopefully he won't be.... Probably best he concentrates on his football
