syston_fox Posted 27 October 2008 Posted 27 October 2008 Had a great day out at the COM stadium watching Man City v Stoke (even if it was a ball ache getting there - the blog will explain all when I update it later this week). Robinho though is simply world class and by far the best player I've had the fortune of watching live. He controls the game and everything goes through him which opens up the play for SWP and Elano to push forward and create more chances. His hat-trick today was faultless and on another day he would have had five if it wasn't for two quality saves from Sorenson (which MOTD didn't show for some reason). They also failed to show some amazing build up play which put Ireland one on one with Sorenson in the last minute only to blaze it over the bar. It really could have been five or six nil on another day as Man City just ooze class going forward. Ched Evans and Daniel Sturridge too also looked brilliant and the brazillian flair is starting to rub off as they attempt flicks and tricks to keep the ball moving. The other thing that was noticeable was how aware they all are. Take Robinho's first for example.... what great vision from Evans to lay it off to him. Most players would have had a crack at goal, but he spotted the brazilian and left him with an easy chance. The players play for each other and it makes it brilliant to watch. If you get the opportunity, get yourself up to manchester. Brilliant stadium and some of the best football Ive ever had the pleasure of seeing.

It's nice to see that although they have all this money the younger ones are still getting a crack at the first team and like you said it was great vision from evans to spot the pass where many other people in that position would have shot.
dandannieldanok Posted 27 October 2008 Posted 27 October 2008 get yourself up to manchester. Brilliant stadium and some of the best football Ive ever had the pleasure of seeing. Oh but I already have, Man City 0-3 Leicester in 2003, and that was some of the best football I've seen.

Corky Posted 27 October 2008 Posted 27 October 2008 It's good to see Man City doing well, their supporters deserve a good team.

And Sturridge's pass for Robinho's second too. Anyway, I love Robinho because he did the boot polishing celebration yesterday. Bloody brilliant.
Uncle Albert Posted 27 October 2008 Posted 27 October 2008 Im a fan of Robinho but I think it will take time till we see the real Robinho.
Tilley Posted 27 October 2008 Posted 27 October 2008 Class. & as Albert says, he will only get better, as will Manchester City as a team.
Uncle Albert Posted 27 October 2008 Posted 27 October 2008 Class.& as Albert says, he will only get better, as will Manchester City as a team. Nah they wont.
lildave3 Posted 27 October 2008 Posted 27 October 2008 And Sturridge's pass for Robinho's second too. Anyway, I love Robinho because he did the boot polishing celebration yesterday. Bloody brilliant. I demand to know where the thumb sucking celebration went.
sdb Posted 27 October 2008 Posted 27 October 2008 I was at the CoM stadium too yesterday. Robinho was brilliant if only for being so clinical in front of goal, but some of the inter-play between him, Ireland and Sturridge (who changed the game) towards the end of the game was beautiful. The atmosphere was AWFUL bar the Stoke fans, and the 1st half pretty dire too - the game was there for stokes taking but they left their strikers so isolated and never gave it a good crack. Lovely stadium, and if Man City dont finish top 6 then somethings badly wrong. Garrido's their only (slight) weak link.
Maybes Posted 27 October 2008 Posted 27 October 2008 I demand to know where the thumb sucking celebration went. He did do it after one of his goals.
Bert Posted 27 October 2008 Posted 27 October 2008 I demand to know where the thumb sucking celebration went. He did do it after one of his goals. Second one.
lildave3 Posted 27 October 2008 Posted 27 October 2008 He did do it after one of his goals. I know, but he should do it every time! Tevez, if you're reading, it's better than the butterfly.
Joe. Posted 27 October 2008 Posted 27 October 2008 I know, but he should do it every time!Tevez, if you're reading, it's better than the butterfly. Untrue. But Drogba > Butterfly anyday.

Koke Posted 29 October 2008 Posted 29 October 2008 I like Manchester City and I hope the best for them.
syston_fox Posted 30 October 2008 Author Posted 30 October 2008 You jinxed them! Or.... I inspired Robinho with my presence on sunday
lildave3 Posted 30 October 2008 Posted 30 October 2008 Or.... I inspired Robinho with my presence on sunday I'll go with the former.
Tilley Posted 30 October 2008 Posted 30 October 2008 Man City are far too inconsistant, they are awful away from home.
syston_fox Posted 30 October 2008 Author Posted 30 October 2008 I'll go with the former. Bye Bye Fenerbache photos / scarf / details
