lcfc81 Posted 28 October 2008 Posted 28 October 2008 Jack hobbs - -5 People who took time and effort to go down + 150 A double negative makes a positive
Musty Posted 29 October 2008 Posted 29 October 2008 The view at Withdean from behind the goal was so appalling its impossible to accurately rate the players - i had to rely on texts from a mate in Leicester to tell me who scored! So i'll just give a big minus to Martin for inspiring panic among his defenders, a minus to Hobbs for his own goal, a minus to the central midfield partnership for being completely incapable of of doing what needed to be done at the start of the second half ie. pass the ball, maintain possession and kill off any thoughts of a Brighton comeback. Plus points to Fryatt for his two goals and to Gradel for an encouraging performance.
Benji Posted 29 October 2008 Posted 29 October 2008 Just got back to Surrey haven't a sodding clue who scored haven't a clue what happened i think the radio listeners will actually be more reliable than the people there i'm still trying to work out what the hell happened!
Bert Posted 29 October 2008 Posted 29 October 2008 Martin 5 - Albeit the conditions weren't great, you failed to save 2 long range shots, and fooked up for the winner. If ever there was a time for Hendo, it's now. Hobbs 4 - The transformation is unreal. It just shows he clearly isn't a right back, mistakes, shit passing, shit headers, we need Kerrea back quick. Powell 6 - Looked solid and assured. Tunch 6 - Did as much as he could, looks good with Kisnorbo. Kisnorbo 6 - Same as Tunch. Gradel 7 - Created a number of opportunities and looked a constant threat. Dyer 6 - Found it hard tonight, but still did ok. Berner 5 - Seemed like a lost puppy, although he did provide an extra bit of steel. King 5 - The game seemed to pass him by, but he still tried to make some telling contributions, with some neat passes, wasted possession with some silly shots. Howard 6 - Won his share, didn't get any luck tonight though. Fryatt 7 - Much improved tonight, 2 goals, lots of energy and running, still holds on to the ball for a bit too long, but it wasn't so bad tonight. Please note - It was very hard to see tonight, ratings will vary from one to another.
Joe. Posted 29 October 2008 Posted 29 October 2008 No chance of ratings from me I'm afraid. The view was way too obscured
clazkel Posted 29 October 2008 Posted 29 October 2008 The only players i noticed were Gradel and Fryatt the rest were pretty much a blur. They got through our defence too easily in the second half, what has happened to our defence, and Martin didn't have a very good game from what i could make out.
Thracian Posted 29 October 2008 Posted 29 October 2008 Really feel for you lads who travelled 165 miles each way or whatever for a shit venue like that. And then to suffer such a let-down result in freezing temperatures - what an experience. My hat's off to everty one of you and Mandaric should send every one of you a compimentary ticket for the next cuptie.
Southern Fox Posted 29 October 2008 Posted 29 October 2008 The view and the second half performance was an absolute joke Martin 5: I just dont rate him - doesnt get near anything Hobbs 3: What a terrible performance capped with a winning own goal. Passing, Heading, Marking & Talking all out of the window Powell 7: Unlike Hobbs - did everything right and poistioning was bang on Tunchev 6: Didnt have a bad game Kisnorbo 6: Likewise Gradel 6: Looked dangerous but doesnt demand the ball enough/ Stuggled to get by marker and his shooting this season so far woeful King 5: Bored of him being in the XI. Lightweight and wouldnt know he was out there half the time. Due for a rest if the squad allowed. Berner 5: Strong first half and dreadful 2nd. Brighton midfield weaved thru the middle of the park unchalleged like they owed all of the South Coast. Dyer 6: Glimpses of the good stuff but wasnt his explosive self Howard 6: Took a lot of knocks and won a bit but now im thinking even this level is beyond him Fryatt 7: MOM ever running. 2 away from home and still on the losing side. I thought he looked sharp.
lcfc_jme Posted 29 October 2008 Posted 29 October 2008 Will do these ratings when I get in from football. As has been said, they won't necessarily be the most accurate ratings ever because of the horrific view from the away end at the Withdean. What a shambolic ground.
The People's Hero Posted 29 October 2008 Posted 29 October 2008 Not easy to say, but if Andy King and Hobbsy can be professional footballers, based on that showing, so can I.

I thought he looked sharp. I'd say that was a fair assessment although Martin did make decent saves from a couple of free kicks. Doesn't inspire confidence though.

My hat's off to everty one of you and Mandaric should send every one of you a compimentary ticket for the next cuptie. why?! i make a 300 mile round trip to every home game which invariably ends in a draw or loss - it's part of football unless you wanna support the top 4. at least they saw 5 goals, even if the team did completely fook up
Benji Posted 29 October 2008 Posted 29 October 2008 at least they saw 5 goals well, so you might think
clazkel Posted 29 October 2008 Posted 29 October 2008 well, so you might think I couldn't even see who scored our goals i had to wait til they announced it on the tannoy. It really was a joke to be that far from the pitch
Hackneyisblue Posted 29 October 2008 Posted 29 October 2008 Probably the worst view and away end I have ever had at a game and I went to Harlow.
lildave3 Posted 29 October 2008 Posted 29 October 2008 I couldn't even see who scored our goals i had to wait til they announced it on the tannoy. It really was a joke to be that far from the pitch I thought Steve had scored the second, I was well happy. Then my dreams were shattered.
syston_fox Posted 29 October 2008 Posted 29 October 2008 Players - N/A - how they can charge you £20 for that view is beyond me. The only time we knew what was happening was when we had corners at our "end". Fans - 10 - for making that journey to the worst stadium in the country and just about selling out is mind-blowing on a tuesday night. We didn't make much noise but with no roof, miles away from the home fans, we were never going to. The fact we were actually there says it all though. Brighton fans - 0 - obnoxious gits. They were deliberately mouthing off at the station and then sat behind us on the train. "Do you remember the score?" "Think it was 3-2" "Weren't we 2-0 down?" "Yeah we were but think we won 3-2.... did we?" "Yeah I think so". All the way back to Brighton and then on into the centre.
sdb Posted 29 October 2008 Posted 29 October 2008 well, so you might think fair point but surely everyone knows what a piece of shite that place is?!
