JakeShingler Posted 2 November 2008 Posted 2 November 2008 My mum knows him.I might make a night of this. I know him he lives opposite me greay player and only 16.
Tevez Posted 2 November 2008 Posted 2 November 2008 Yes mate spoke to Nel earlier so think I am going down are you? Come tomorrow night, you owe to much to Leisure Leagues. No worries, Billy Kee. You heard the man. Nah will give it a miss. Got too much at stake and want to win the title after being their 7 seasons.
Thracian Posted 2 November 2008 Posted 2 November 2008 Does Jorrin John play for the youths? Sometimes. He's been wrapped in cotton wool from what I can see.
Miquel The Work Geordie Posted 2 November 2008 Posted 2 November 2008 Sometimes. He's been wrapped in cotton wool from what I can see. Give me the lowdown. Is he any good?
Thracian Posted 2 November 2008 Posted 2 November 2008 Give me the lowdown. Is he any good? I don't know for certain. He's like a footballing Peter Pan. More fantasy than fact. I've previously mentioned that Levi Porter was quoted as saying he was the best individual for his age he'd ever seen. Whether that quote was accurate I don't know but a football man told me to look out for him and there's no doubt he has talent. He's a wispy lad, the sort you'd think might need a minder in a football match. But, he is not only good on the ball but he can see and deliver a pass. City are probably staying low profile with the lad until he's safely signed up for the year's ahead but he tends to play on the wing and, in the short cameos I've seen, he's a visionary footballer who always looks to make something happen. How well he'll cope with a clattering and how strong he'll get in the future is another matter, though looks can be deceiving.

CosbehFox Posted 3 November 2008 Posted 3 November 2008 Is he any good? IMO he's an average prospect. My brother has played him a few times as they are the same age group. Numerous cup finals, Jorrin was always in the team against my brother. He has some get up and go about him but he's not skill-a-minute, very quick however. He didn't stand out whilst playing for the poor Hamilton School but then when playing for Lanky Boys, he was much better. He works hard and that's clearly the attraction for City. However, the lad playing alongside him for Lanky Boys - Bradley Wood, plays for Grimsby ressies and under 18's - billy big boots but one hell of a player for his age. How well he'll cope with a clattering and how strong he'll get in the future is another matter, though looks can be deceiving. I have seen absolutely and utterly clattered by a school mate of my brothers. He broke his foot in the challenge, he had my sympathy, a monster challenge on him. In other games, he was too good for the opposition to get near him. I was taken back when he was selected for City and England but I liked his attitude and he relishes the challenge of a football game. He played centre when I have watched him at schoolkids age. Centre mid or up front.

I've played with him a few times and yes he's playing with Grimsby Ressies now at Centre Back I think also got voted Grimbsy's young player of the year last season.
valiant Posted 3 November 2008 Posted 3 November 2008 HI, Just wondered if anybody had heard any score updates from the youth cup game at the Walkers tonight. Was thinking of goind but was late finishing work. We had a good run in it last year, got knocked out in the 1/4 finals to Chelsea and knocking Bolton and Spurs out before that. If anyone has heard anything, let me know please, Cheers

Thracian Posted 3 November 2008 Posted 3 November 2008 Won 2-1. Billy Kee penalty won the game after Burns was impeded in the box when about to shoot. I think it was Adam Vasey got the first but I'll have to check, again after a move involving Kee. Fuller report in a bit.
JoeyB Posted 3 November 2008 Posted 3 November 2008 No Sappleton? Maybe a surprise inclusion on the Bench for 2mora night?
valiant Posted 3 November 2008 Posted 3 November 2008 Bit of a match report on the Vale board. Just got back, well how harsh was that on us! We played some great passing football at times in a very open game. Took the lead through Lovatt deservedly after a minor scramble, City equalised on the break. Second half we should of scored within 10 seconds but good save but their keeper and then had a great chance from resulting corner, first 20 minutes of second half we looked like being the only winners but then a penalty cost us. Who on earth is the lad who takes the "Rory" throws for us! Crickey he is identical with them to Delap! No word of a lie anything in the final 3rd was like a corner to us! Sad about what looked an awful injury to one of their lads late on too. Good game, disappointing to lose deserved at least ET but City are good and we gave them a full run for their money. About 10 or so of us Vale fans too
