Zingari Posted 4 November 2008 Posted 4 November 2008 silverware silverware silverware , that's all young people think about these days . what about the beautiful silky skilful artistry that we are fortunate enough to witness week in week out
CKB Posted 4 November 2008 Posted 4 November 2008 People who are saying your glad we're out!? are you serious? Best chance of silverwre this season and trip to Wembley, im gutted. What you on about? we are gonna win the F.A Cup!!
Kilworthfox Posted 4 November 2008 Posted 4 November 2008 Give me an issue/opinion regarding Leicester and I'll give you a fan who disagrees. There's plenty of pride in winning a cup which will have you as the best team outside the Championship, otherwise why would Man Utd / Chelsea try to win the Carling Cup. Seem to remember a lot of touchy fans (including me) at the way such teams would say 'i don't give a crap' when we overachieved in winning the so called micky mouse cup twice. If I supported Crewe I would agree
Salieri Posted 4 November 2008 Posted 4 November 2008 People are talking about the disappointment of not going to Wembley..... I think they're missing the point. It's not about a jolly, a nice day out! If we had got to Wembley and gone on to win it i think i may have felt a bit flat at the end. Why? Because it means jack shit!!!! When we won in the play offs at wembley and in the Carling Cup it felt like being on top of the world. I doubt winning this bollocks would evoke quite the same sentiments.
Zingari Posted 4 November 2008 Posted 4 November 2008 for me it lost a lot of prestige when leyland daf vans withdrew their patronage
l444ry Posted 4 November 2008 Posted 4 November 2008 Some may think this cup wasn't worth winning. But Pearson played a strong side, so he wasn't taking this game lightly. Makes this result and performance all the more disappointing.
marbelladave Posted 4 November 2008 Posted 4 November 2008 Thracian was at the Fa Cup Final in 1949! No. That was my dad, still got the matchday program somewhere!
marbelladave Posted 4 November 2008 Posted 4 November 2008 More to the point, we put out a near full strength side and were well beaten by a team from Div 4. From the sound of the radio we played pretty much the same general way as we have played for the last 5-6 games. Unless NP told then to go out and not give a fook, then we are in deep poo! We have some obvious problems that we have not even started to address, until we do we are not going to improve. WTF are our coaching staff doing?

SussexFox Posted 4 November 2008 Author Posted 4 November 2008 Yeah exactly . The point people seem to miss is, this is our cup at our current level. Leicester aren't in a position to pick which 'shitty cups' they don't fancy winning haha. Madness. Any cup win is a good win, a morale boost, a bit of trophy for Leicester's LONGING trophy cabinet. Man, I bet that trophy cabinet is drier than a busted up old hooker on a Sunday morning after a long weekend on the streets. Yeah but teams do mate not many teams who aspire to get out of this division take it seriously - look at leeds 8 changes they made when they lost to rotherham. MK Dons were league 2 when they won it. It means nothing its a joke cup Some may think this cup wasn't worth winning. But Pearson played a strong side, so he wasn't taking this game lightly. Makes this result and performance all the more disappointing. Agree we should have put out the kids from the start give them experience and if they did well could have pushed for first team could not see the point in most of the 'big guns' starting in this comp
Brainy Posted 4 November 2008 Posted 4 November 2008 We should have stuck the kids in this from the start! could have been some vaulable experience and would have maybe put some steal into them for the future! hey who knows they could have went on to win it! oh wait we don't have Arsenal's youth Apparently there's a rule that you must put out 6 of your first team regulars. It's stupid.
CKB Posted 4 November 2008 Posted 4 November 2008 Apparently there's a rule that you must put out 6 of your first team regulars. It's stupid. Really? i never even knew that, that is stupid!
Ultra Posted 4 November 2008 Posted 4 November 2008 Apparently there's a rule that you must put out 6 of your first team regulars. It's stupid. Not that Leeds semed to bother with that. They too focused on the league instead of the "Mickey Mouse" cups last season. And look what good it did them! The JPT was no more a distraction from League 1 than the Champions League is from the Premier League. Take it from me, the name of our club has been dragged through the gutter by the result and performance tonight. And there's every prospect it's gonna happen all over again on Saturday.
lildave3 Posted 4 November 2008 Posted 4 November 2008 No, I didn't want to lose, I wanted to go all the way and i'm not glad we're out. However, i'd rather have lost tonight than in another League match.

So thats why Leeds didnt get promoted last season! If only they had concentrated on the JPT it would have been a different story.....
Sods Posted 5 November 2008 Posted 5 November 2008 Bollocks to saying im glad were out. I wanted us to win, I want us to win every game. More wins make us a better side on form, more games make us more experianced. The fooking fans that pay their money to go watch the game get to see their side win.
Nationwider Posted 5 November 2008 Posted 5 November 2008 Remember, remember, the 5th of November.... If bombing out of cup competitions in the best interests of league form is your thing, you must have been in spasms of pure delight at teatime on the 10 March 2001. Never underestimate the effects of an embarrassment like tonight. And City players, please don't underestimate just how hard Stevenage will come at you on Saturday.

Spot on.
Bert Posted 5 November 2008 Posted 5 November 2008 If I supported Crewe I would agree Fool. We really aren't as big as you think we are. I thought you were a real fan, guess i was wrong.
Leicester Rule! Posted 5 November 2008 Posted 5 November 2008 Shame that our fans don't even want us to win games ..... Take it you will all be supporting Stevenage at the weekend then ? Might as well go and sit with their fans if you take that attitude.
Fosse Boy Posted 5 November 2008 Posted 5 November 2008 I'm fcuked off. A trip to Wembley was on the cards. Never turn down a trophy, we should want to win every game!
Leicester Rule! Posted 5 November 2008 Posted 5 November 2008 I'm fcuked off. A trip to Wembley was on the cards. Never turn down a trophy, we should want to win every game! +1 You play to win. All this "The taking part which counts" is fooking stupid. Who cares if it was a mickey mouse cup. A trophy is a trophy. Still, its a chance to go the Wembley to watch your club team and a day out. If these games really do have an impact on our league form then our squad is not good enough to go up. Just another excuse, which from now on, they cant use.
carterfox90 Posted 5 November 2008 Posted 5 November 2008 all of us who went tonight all wanted a trip to wembley this is a bitter pill to swallow we are not as good as we think we are just look at the last few games we have played on saturday we were lucky
