Uncle Albert Posted 9 November 2008 Posted 9 November 2008 I watched the first 3 rounds in a drunken mess, not watched anything else from the fight. Really pleased for Joe, definetly one of the all time greats now.
ASH17LCFC Posted 9 November 2008 Posted 9 November 2008 Good win for Calzaghe, probally the best English boxer in the world now. *He was born in England
Miquel The Work Geordie Posted 9 November 2008 Posted 9 November 2008 Good win for Calzaghe, probally the best English boxer in the world now.*He was born in England British. The same way Lewis Hamilton is British, the same way Andy Murray is British. They represent Great Britain. Also, if Calzaghe was raised in Wales, and calls Wales his home, in my opinion, that makes him a Welshman. (Representing Britain of course )
Finnegan Posted 9 November 2008 Posted 9 November 2008 Good win for Calzaghe, probally the best English boxer in the world now.*He was born in England

ASH17LCFC Posted 9 November 2008 Posted 9 November 2008  Best thing to come out of Wales and he was born in England But you can pretend he's Welsh if that helps you sleep.
Jack Posted 9 November 2008 Posted 9 November 2008 Best thing to come out of Wales and he was born in England But you can pretend he's Welsh if that helps you sleep. That actually made me laugh.
ASH17LCFC Posted 9 November 2008 Posted 9 November 2008 But born in England So he's not really Welsh is he ? His mum was Welsh and his dad was a I-tia but he was born in England so he's english.

ASH17LCFC Posted 9 November 2008 Posted 9 November 2008 *Sigh* The only Yank in the world with a LesTuh accent with some words of wisdom.
ASH17LCFC Posted 9 November 2008 Posted 9 November 2008 FiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiGHT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Yeah was last night and the English lad won.
Finnegan Posted 9 November 2008 Posted 9 November 2008 He was born to a Welsh mother and an Italian father in England, yes. Listen to his accent - he lived in and was raised in Wales, he considers himself Welsh. What more do you want? You're just trying to wind people up, but it clearly isn't going to work. You're trying to bait a Welshman with an English accent whose favourite national hero was born in Zambia. What success do you think you'll get trying to wind me up that Calzaghe was born when his parents were having a fairly brief stint in London?

I was just pointing out that he was born in England and not Wales, so in theory he's not a real Welsh person like Iwan Roberts or Charlotte Church. We're say British to end this debate
JakeShingler Posted 9 November 2008 Posted 9 November 2008 Yeah was last night and the English lad won. <_<
Finnegan Posted 9 November 2008 Posted 9 November 2008 I was just pointing out that he was born in England and not Wales, so in theory he's not a real Welsh person like Iwan Roberts or Charlotte Church. We're say British to end this debate It isn't really a debate. He considers himself Welsh, he chooses to represent Wales and fly a Welsh flag when he fights for Welsh fans who sing Welsh songs in their Welsh stadium. And believe me, he's not the first man to represent Wales in the Temple that was born somewhere else. In fact we're quite used to this loan-share scheme in Wales, having offered you Mikey Owen and Owain Hargreaves in return.

GUNS DON'T KILL PEOPLE, RAPPERS DO !!!
Finnegan Posted 9 November 2008 Posted 9 November 2008 Stop it now, i was winding you up. Wales isn't worth it, like cmon ... GUNS DON'T KILL PEOPLE, RAPPERS DO !!! Stop? Why? Because I'm winning?
ASH17LCFC Posted 9 November 2008 Posted 9 November 2008 Stop? Why? Because I'm winning? Ok i understand your a proud Welshman and Calzaghe is too and he won the biggest fight of his life yesterday and i was happy he did because he's a awesome fighter and a true legend. I just like winding you up, i'm sorry and i hope all 15 people in Wales are proud of him because he deserves bbc sport thingy of the year after his awesome career in boxing and the way he's gone about it. Viva la Wales
