Matt Posted 9 November 2008 Posted 9 November 2008 As much as I disagree with Jack, It's called having an opinion, Something that is frowned upon on this forum.
Jack Posted 9 November 2008 Posted 9 November 2008 Well, let me rephrase, either you'll grow up and learn to see more than just petty dislikes and the world beyond yourself or you'll grow into one cunt of an adult. Bit full of ourself ain't we, bless you.
Jay Posted 9 November 2008 Posted 9 November 2008 Never said he was any of them things, just don't like him. no but they are the sort of things that you can take a dislike to someone for I just can't see why you don't like someone without a reason they must have done something to make you feel that way
Finnegan Posted 9 November 2008 Posted 9 November 2008 As much as I disagree with Jack, It's called having an opinion, Something that is frowned upon on this forum. In life, as on this forum, Jack has the right to free speech and I've not deleted his posts, however dumb I think they are. But on this forum, as in life, you learn that saying something stupid will get you rightfully berated. Bit full of ourself ain't we, bless you. Yes I am, though that's somewhat potkettleblack. I've done the whole mid-teen, outspoken-on-the-internet thing and I've matured, give it five or six years and I'm sure you'll be sat there the same tutting at some narrow minded kid on the internet that thinks he's worldly and intelligent. No doubt given ten odd years I'll be doing the same, rolling my eyes at the twenty-something Jack getting annoyed at the you-of-then as would davieG and co' now. That's how things go!
Head Honcho Posted 9 November 2008 Posted 9 November 2008 I have mega respect for him, I just don't like him. Simple as that, really. Have you met him then? I ask this because I can't think of a more likeable boxer. The only blemish on his record I can see was his break up with Frank Warren.
Samilktray Posted 9 November 2008 Author Posted 9 November 2008 Why cant people just accept someone elses dislike!? Jesus christ.
Jack Posted 9 November 2008 Posted 9 November 2008 Have you met him then?I ask this because I can't think of a more likeable boxer. The only blemish on his record I can see was his break up with Frank Warren. No, I just don't like him. It's just my opinion and you are kicking up a fuss cause it's a different one to yours. Fair enough you think my opinion is stupid or whatever, I don't care, it's what I think.
Head Honcho Posted 9 November 2008 Posted 9 November 2008 As much as I disagree with Jack, It's called having an opinion, Something that is frowned upon on this forum. Having an opinion is fine but not having a reason for that opinion is pretty lame don't you think?
Finnegan Posted 9 November 2008 Posted 9 November 2008 No, I just don't like him. It's just my opinion and you are kicking up a fuss cause it's a different one to yours. Fair enough you think my opinion is stupid or whatever, I don't care, it's what I think. you honestly don't read that back to yourself and feel a bit silly?
Samilktray Posted 9 November 2008 Author Posted 9 November 2008 Having an opinion is fine but not having a reason for that opinion is pretty lame don't you think? Does it affect you? Didnt think so.
Jack Posted 9 November 2008 Posted 9 November 2008 It's actually laughable, all I said is I don't like Calzaghe and get shot down for it. I just don't like him end of.
Finnegan Posted 9 November 2008 Posted 9 November 2008 It's actually laughable, all I said is I don't like Calzaghe and get shot down for it. I just don't like him end of. Reading comprehension isn't really your thing? Fair play. Like I said, I have no real problem with your dislike of Joe Calzaghe, it'd be a pretty boring world if we all liked and disliked the same things. I just think disliking him and wanting to see him lose, in front of his own fans, in his final fight after a staggering career are completely different things. And the latter is immature, fairly malicious and completely unwarranted.
Miquel The Work Geordie Posted 9 November 2008 Posted 9 November 2008 I'm paying for that late night now but what a brilliant fight, and what a fantastic display from an inspirational sportsman. Was a bit aprehensive after the first round, but once he got going, Jones didn't stand a chance. Absolutely pehenomenal career. A great boxer and a great man.
Sparky Posted 9 November 2008 Posted 9 November 2008 Another job well done for Calzo , after he got off his arse he dominated it . Hope he retires now as there is nothing else to acheive . If he does want a last fight in Wales then i hope its against Hopkins rather than Jones jnr

Loved the way he just left his arms down and kept grinning at him.
Miquel The Work Geordie Posted 9 November 2008 Posted 9 November 2008 Definitely. Loved the way he just left his arms down and kept grinning at him. The showboating was the icing on the cake.
Samilktray Posted 9 November 2008 Author Posted 9 November 2008 The showboating was the icing on the cake. Wasnt really showboating... more like attempting to.
Darkzzz_ Posted 9 November 2008 Posted 9 November 2008 Excellent display by a great boxer, in my opinion he should retire now and forever have legendary status within his sport. I don't mind people hating him, I am not going to say I am his number one fan but I am a fan of his, I have always preferred watching him to Ricky Hatton. He is genuinely a nice guy or that's how he comes across anyway, I don't think he is appreciated as much as he should be. I certainly take my hat off to him. I would also like to say that, as far as opinions go on this forum, I have always said that certain people feel as if they have the more of a right than others, Not that it bothers me, I just take it with a pinch of salt. I have always posted what I feel, I have never expected anyone to agree with me, At the end of the day I think it is healthy for people to have a difference of opinion but I also think people should accept and respect other peoples views on certain matters.
Finnegan Posted 9 November 2008 Posted 9 November 2008 Wasnt really showboating... more like attempting to. Could you be any more bitter?
Samilktray Posted 9 November 2008 Author Posted 9 November 2008 Could you be any more bitter? Joe Calzaghe knocked 10 bags of shit out of him. There you happy now!?

stez Posted 9 November 2008 Posted 9 November 2008 i've been avoiding all mentions of the fight, as i'd recorded it, an now i've just watched it and i have to say that it was the best fight i've seen for ages, fantastic in fact and you don't have to be welsh to see that
