reynard Posted 16 April 2005 Posted 16 April 2005 walker 5 really uncertain on corners/crosses these days tiatto 3 sorry i know he's popualr but he was lucky not to be sent off. not fit?? dabizas 4 some good tackles but a hobbit could have scored from the corner and horribly outpaced dublin 6 ok but better up front? mccarthy 5 ok but he's not a right back imo maybury 6 not one of his better games left back not his best position gillespie 3 anonymous imo. doesn't get to the byline enough. poor crosses williams 6 tried hard but over run in midfield and not strong enough. gudjonsson 1 terrible. poor passing gave the ball away a lot useless connolly 5 again worked hard. no service but not much movement either. de vries 0 absolutely terrible. possibly the worst performance as i striker i have ever seen kenton 4 not very impressed worth keeping?? moore not on long enough to say.
Matt Posted 16 April 2005 Posted 16 April 2005 Walker 5 Tiatto 5 - One of the better players, He actually shows some passion and looks like he wants to play for the club. Dabizas 4 - Hardly noticed him to be honest. Dublin 6 - Earlier in the season everyone was slagging him off, one of the better players now, Contender for MOTM. McCarthy 6 - Another player who looks like he wants to play for the club Maybury 5 - Not bad but not his best game Gillespie 6 - Why the fuk was he subbed? One of the better players. Williams 6 - Earlier this season I was slagging him off, improved alot. Gudjonsson 2.5 - Get rid Connolly 4 - Our best striker but he's had enough chances this season i'll give him a few games next season, if theres no improvement drop him. de Vries 1 - Fuk off Mark de Vries or improve quickly! Kenton 4 - Not sure yet, needs a few more games... Moore - Not on long enough really.
Mark Posted 16 April 2005 Posted 16 April 2005 Walker - 5 - Kicking woeful, long balls to De Vries head don't make sense. And do we really need a goalkeeper taking free kicks from the half way line Maybury 6 - Few good runs forward first half, would be nice to see him on the right side where he's most suited. Dabizas 5 - Too slow Dublin 7 McCarthy 7 - Gives it his all every game, good performance again, despite playing out of position, AGAIN Tiatto 4 - Has been off form for months, not a player i'd want to look upto. As much as i hate to say it, give Dublin the armband <_< Williams 5 - In and out the game, crap corners Gudjonsson 4 - Always give the ball away, Dawson would be so much more effective doing his job Gillespie 6 - Only player who wants to run forward. Connolly 5 - Lightweight De Dries 3 - Heavyweight but useless Kenton 5 - I'm yet to see what he has to offer us yet, very average player. Stearman please. Moore 5 - Same as above ^ Levein - 1 - Why wait until the 70th minute before making a change Why leave Donkey on?
Wellman Posted 16 April 2005 Posted 16 April 2005 Walker 5 Maybury 7 Dabizas 5 Dublin 7 McCarthy 6 Tiatto 5 Williams 6 Gudjonsson 5 Gillespie 5 Connolly 6 De Vries 0
mr potatohead Posted 16 April 2005 Posted 16 April 2005 Walker 5 Shaky on Crosses. Maybury 7 Dublin 6 Dabizas 6 M Carthy 6 Tiatto 6 Lots of Effort as always Williams 4 Priima Donna Gudjonsson 3 Can't pass Gillespie 5 Good player lacks Bottle Connolly 3 No service but still a poor performance De Vries 1 Absolutely shocking, Too slow he is like a carthorse!!
TrickyTrev Posted 16 April 2005 Posted 16 April 2005 Walker 6 Nothing to criticse buth nothing much to praise. Perhaps could be more dominant from set pieces but the delivery was usually excellent. McCarthy 5 Too many fouls and clearly a centre back not a full back. Dabizas 5 Done for pace and does not win any headers, very short for a centre back isn't he Dublin 7 One of the few players ot come out of the match with any dignity, should definately be upfront next match Maybury 4 Very good rightback but a below average left back, begs the question whyhe is playing there. Gillespie 6 Didn't create anything of note. One of his poorer performances this year. Gudjohnson 2 Words fail me. Williams 4 Playing in midfiel on his own but did not show enough drive and Kavanagh made him look mediocre at best. Tiatto 3 Not fit. Fouling eveyone and nearly getting sent off does not show commitment it shows stupidity. De Vries 5 Not as bad as crowd were making out but Dublin did show him up when he went up front int he last 10 minutes. Crowd obviously don't see the irony in sarcasticly cheeering his 6th or 7th flicked header as if it were the first. Fed on scraps. Connolly 4 Worse than De Vries, never looked like scoring and contributed nothign in terms of build up play. Two shots, the first he weakly scufffed along ht eground intot he middle of the goal and the second he blazed miles over. Very lucky not to recieve the criticsm that other recieve. SUBS Kenton 6 He is another centreback playing at full back, he didn't do aqnything wrong but on the same foot he ddoin't do anything right. Moore 5 You have to feel sorry for him. He came out on loan to get first team football and he has been stuck out on the wing on he few occaisons he has got off the bench and what is worse is the two players ahead of him are turning out consistently poor performances.
Anish Posted 16 April 2005 Posted 16 April 2005 Walker - 5 - Poor kicking and doesn't command his area at all Maybury - 5.5 - decent'ish performance. Still don't know why we play him at Left back when he is clearly more comfortable and useful at RB where he can attack Dabizas - 6 - not a bad performance, got outpaced/outtricked by Roberts, who was a class apart Dublin - 7 - Very good performance, both defensively and in attack. Assured on the ball and a handful when pushed forward. McCarthy - 6 - Has a lot of potential and I feel he's wasted playing RB. He's not confident on the ball and doesn't provide any support to Gillespie, which is why he should be at centre back. Gillespie - 6 - tried his best but nothing came off. Poor corners. Cuts inside far too much too. Williams 5.5 - looks good on the ball at times, and does try to support the attackers. However, he never comes deep to help Gudjonsson or look for the ball and goes missing far too often. Gudjonsson - 4 - woeful today. Shocking on the ball, got caught in possession far to often. Passing is hit and miss. Tiatto - 4.5 - very poor performance. He was reckless and stupid and could have been sent off. Drifts infield far too often and never holds his position. Connolly 5.5 - can't complain about his effort but I just think he's not good enough. De Vries - 6 - Not as bad as previous performances but still not the answer up front. Won more in the air today (though that's not saying much) and tried to hold the ball, which he did well at times. Still far too slow to cause any problems to defenders. Subs: Kenton - 5 - offers nothing more to the team. If anything he is a CB not a RB, he doesn't look good on the ball at all. Moore - not enough time to judge. Levein - 3 - Waited too long before making changes. Still hasn't sorted out our defensive problems at set pieces. Brought on Moore to play left midfield when Wilcox was on the bench. In fact, I am sick and tired of Levein playing players out of position. We all slated MA for doing this but now Levein is also guilty. McCarthy is not a full back, Maybury should be right back not left back, Kenton is more of a CB, and Moore is not a winger!!
Little Nicky Posted 16 April 2005 Posted 16 April 2005 Walker 4.5 - Should be commanding his area and telling his players who to mark not stood on the goal-line helpless like he was! Maybury 6 - The outstanding player in the team, was playing out of position again, CL will you listen, he's an effing right back, play him there for feck's sake, we have Stewart to play left back (regardless of what people think I rate him!) Dublin 6 - Great display, looked strong in the backline, and was the only man doing anything up front when he moved there! Dabizas 3 - Frankly this guy is a shambles, his pace is way off the mark for somebody supposedly marking mile a minute Jason Roberts, and his defending at times is woeful, get rid CL! McCarthy 5 - I know aggression is a major part of Paddy's game but he goes OTT sometimes, he's not a right back and shouldn't be made to play there when we have 3 perfectly capable right backs at the club already, come on CL sort it out! Tiatto 2 - Luckiest man alive today, should have saw red IMO, he is off the boil and doesn't seem with it since coming back from his cheekbone injury, I'm with Mr Chainsaw, why is he Captain!? Williams 4 - What an idle git he really is, he's got the ability and shows spells of what he is capable of but he just wouldnt linkup with the front men today! Gudjonsson 4 - Lively, but couldn't get hold of the ball or chase down his man like he should be doing, with him and Williams as a long term prospect I'd be seriously worried, thank God for Hughesy coming back on tuesday! Gillespie 5 - Looked better tracking back today, but his corners and crosses weren't good enough! Connolly 3.5 - Woeful, wasn't in the game, regardless of the poor support he shouldn't just drift out out the wings, he should chase the ball! De Vries 2 - Proved his worth today = sweet f.a! Head the ball, or eff off De Vries! Subs: Kenton 4 - I don't think we should sign this guy permanantly, he is only keeping maybury from playing at right back! Moore N/A - Well done Micky Adams, wait no it was you Craig wasn't it bringing on our pacey on loan centre forward on the left wing!
Ricey Posted 16 April 2005 Posted 16 April 2005 Walker 6 - Did okay but maybe could of collected corners more often. Maybury 6 - Was solid but he isn't strong enough physhically Dabizas 7 - Made some great tacles and showed urgency Dublin 8 - Our best player, was solid throughout McCarthy 6 - He is not a right back but did okay. Tiatto 6 - Worked hard as usual and started to creat things just before he was taken off. Williams 5 - Anonymous most of the time Gudjonsson 5.5 - Wasn't involved enough but made a ew decent passes Gillespie 7 - Made some great runs and was our best attacking player Connolly 4 -He snatcted the call off Joey to take that free kick and then skied it, he was awful through out. De Vries 4 - He needs to improve a lot, was laughably bad today, I'm not laughing though. SUBS: Kenton 6 - Did ok but his crossing is poor Moore 6 - Should of been put on a lot earlier, looked neat and dangerous when he came on
Sam Posted 16 April 2005 Posted 16 April 2005 Walker 4 ok but some reason never dealt with crosses and never came to collect them Maybury 6 wasn't as good as previous performances Dabizas 3 didn't do much Dublin 6 didn't do to much wrong but then again not much right McCarthy 7 not too bad quite solid Tiatto 2 appalling and has been recently Williams 5 not much impact on the game Gudjonsson 0 crap Gillespie 6 quiet performance but didnt do all that badly Connolly 0 complete and utter bull**** De Vries 7 looked most likely to score more so than Connolly anyone and I really don't see why people under-rate him so much and yet give Connolly so much praise. Connolly doesn't care about Leicester as long as he's getting payed for doing nothing he's happy he's completely uncommitted. A crap performance overall and my ratings probably don't reflect the overall performance but I'm feeling optimistic for some reason.
Louise Posted 16 April 2005 Posted 16 April 2005 Walker - 5 - Kicking woeful, long balls to De Vries head don't make sense. And do we really need a goalkeeper taking free kicks from the half way line 93699[/snapback] There has to be something to keep me awake!
Louise Posted 16 April 2005 Posted 16 April 2005 Walker - 6 - some brave moments and quick action from back-passes etc, I'm surprised his nerves aren't shot with the amount of times our defence likes to put him in difficult positions. McCarthy - 5 - fouled players too many times and was lucky not to be sent off really. Needs to move back to centre-back (as Gary Mills said on the radio on the way back!) as he's wasted at right-back. Dabizas - 6 - actually thought Dabizas played quite well today, commitment seemed to be there moreso than before (maybe someone told him his contract is up at the end of the season) and he was running all over the place. Dublin - 6 - most dangerous player up front when he was moved there, solid at the back as he has been for a while. I'd take the gamble and play him up front next game though, we need goals. Maybury - 4 - was beaten far too many times, ok they've got good players but I can't remember once when he stopped the player getting 'round him. Gillespie - 6 - about the only player on the pitch that created things and looked dangerous on the ball. Not quite at his best but the turnaround with him is still amazing. Williams - 5 - same old Gareth, won lots of headers and ran about a lot but generally ghosted through the game and I'm not sure why he was sold to us as an attacking midfielder. Gudjonsson - 4 - chased after their players and looked eager (epitomised by him scrambling past players at one point to pick up a loose ball, actually scrambling over them!) but he doesn't really retain possession and takes too long to think about where he's going to pass to. Tiatto - 3 - very poor Danny, your commitment can't be questioned but.. you're a left winger that puts in no crosses and spends all of your time in the centre of the pitch fouling needlessly. Lucky not to get sent off. Connolly - 5 - worked hard as always and put in some good passes (especially when he quickly got the ball and turned in the same movement to put a cross in, that was headed away from de Vries of course) but didn't have a shot at goal in the whole game that I can remember. De Vries - 2 - Oh Mark De Vries, please don't start on Tuesday or you will get booed onto the pitch. He won 2% of headers that came his way, of those most went out or to a Wigan player, he was offside numerous times and the one time he wasn't offside and in a good position he did nothing with the ball, he fell over a lot and whinged to the ref and other players no end of the time. It's not a 0 because he did occasionally manage to make the ball stick to his feet for a few vital seconds. Subs: Kenton - 6 - had our most dangerous chance of the game when he snuck in unmarked for a header from a free-kick, also looked pacy and eager to impress. I wasn't really sold on him by his other appearances for us but this cameo was encouraging. Moore - 4 - wasn't on for long enough really, did show determination when he somehow took the ball past a few players but I think that was more luck than anything else, need to see more of him still.
Ric Flair Posted 18 April 2005 Posted 18 April 2005 Sweet baby jesus, what a horrible performance that was. Walker 5 - It's no coincidence that since he's come back we've kept about 1 clean sheet. Taylor is a much better shot stopper and commands the box better at corners, Walker is awful at kicking now aswell so we might aswell get Taylor. McCarthy 5 - I like Paddy, but he's not a right back. Levein has no excuses as Kenton and Stearman were both fit and it's obvious he doesn't dare leave greasy or Dublin out at centre half. Should have been sent off, but atleast he tries. Dublin 7* - If everybody played like Dublin has done this past month we'd be laughing. He's really stepped up a gear recently, probably because he wants another contract. Composed and put De Flea's to shame. Dabizas 5 - If he man handled a lady like he does the opposition he'd be doing a stretch for sexual assault. Also if ref's picked up on what he does he'd be permanently banned, either way we'd be better off. Maybury 4 - He had a shocker, poor lad. I like Maybury at right back, it's time he was put back there. He usually gets the better of wingers with crunching tackles, but he was all over the shop against Bullard. Gillespie 3 - You've had a blinding couple of weeks Keith, keep it up and i'll guarantee you that you'll be on the scrap heap once more. Awful Gudjonsson 3 - Has he been pinched from Oadby Owls Under 10's?? I honestly think he'd get pushed off the ball at that level, woeful. Can't pass either Williams 5 - Tries to play football when he gets the ball, but he hardly goes looking for it when we're playing badly. Better than most though. Tiatto 4 - Dear me, i've said it alot recently and i'll say it again. Tiatto has been crap since christmas for City, lucky not to see red. Injured again, how do you do it? De Vries 1 - Does he sniff glue before he plays? He was off his rocker, yet it didn't make him any better. Mark I suggest you try speed or acid next, that would be funny. Can't head, can't shoot, can't pass, can't link up with Connolly, can't run, can abuse the ref and linesman though. Walk on. Connolly 5 - I'm sorry David, we're an embarassment. If there was cast iron proof of how to ruin a prolific scorer we are proof. I think it's for the best if you ask to leave Dave, we aren't good enough for you and you're hardly impressing the fans either. Subs - Bothered? Naah me neither. All crap
Steven Posted 18 April 2005 Posted 18 April 2005 The Players.Walker : Flapped about in a most unconvincing manner. McCarthy: A bit of a wild man, looked much better as a centre back. Dabizas: Variable. Dublin: Without him we’d be nothing, with him we’re something, trouble is I’m not sure what it is Maybury: A very good resolute player. Gillespie: When the going gets tough, he comes off with a ‘poorly arm’ or something. Williams: Was he playing? Gudjonsson: No he wasn’t Tiatto: I can’t see why people go into raptures over him, he’s very one footed, wild and erratic. Club Captain???? Connolly: As per usual; hopeless. De Vries: Comparisons are being made with Akinbiyi, sadly though, he’s not that good. Craig: Have you bought a house down here yet? I’d rent one if I were you !!!!!!
step Posted 18 April 2005 Posted 18 April 2005 What amazed me was how for the first 15 minutes after dion went up front the whole team woke up and it looked like we might score. Could it be that the players know just like the fans do that no matter how hard they try, connelly and MDV aint going to score. It was nearly as bad as some of the games we had when MA was here
