Brainy Posted 13 November 2008 Posted 13 November 2008 How's everyone see this going? I don't really expect much but it's good to see International Cricket back again.
Fosse Boy Posted 13 November 2008 Posted 13 November 2008 I'm pretty cynical. India look in top nick at the moment, can't see us winning either series honestly, but you never know. Not sure whether to a) stay up for the game tonight, b) get some sleep and set my alarm for 3.30, or c) go to bed and watch the highlights tomorrow. In all honesty, c's winning at the moment.
Fox You Forest Posted 13 November 2008 Posted 13 November 2008 I'll record it but im not too fussed about the ODI's. I'll be waiting for the two test matches. C'mon Monty.
Corky Posted 14 November 2008 Posted 14 November 2008 Seven one-day internationals is a bit much, the competitiveness seems to go out of them after about four. Only two tests? Crap.
Uncle Albert Posted 14 November 2008 Posted 14 November 2008 England are getting romped at the minute by India. Yuvraj Singh smashed 138* of 78 balls. England conceded the most run ever in ODI's for England. 378-5. England are 218-9 with Pietersen top scoring with 63. I dont see why England have opted for 7 ODI's and only 2 test's. We are a much better test side at the minute and until we can sort out the opening partnership for the ODI team I cant see us doing very well. Need's to be sorted pretty sharpish with a tournament coming up and the ODI's before the Ashes next year. Prior and Bell is such a slow partnership, would much prefer to see Prior and Wright open the batting for us and Bell and Pietersen coming in at 3 and 4 to carry the innings on. Ian Bell is not an opening batsmen in any form of cricket so him in limited overs cricket is a bit daft I think.
Alexikokopops Posted 14 November 2008 Posted 14 November 2008 Well that was embarassing! We've V+'d the one on Monday so that we can start watching it when we get to work as though it's real time, so I'll be stearing clear of this thread!
SamL Posted 14 November 2008 Posted 14 November 2008 Yet another poor performance, that's got to be the 3rd/4th in a row? The honeymoon period is now over for Pietersen. It's pleasing to see Bopara finally getting some runs in an England shirt.

purpleronnie Posted 14 November 2008 Posted 14 November 2008 Flat and slow pitches aren't good for us.
Dr The Singh Posted 14 November 2008 Posted 14 November 2008 Indians are just too good at the moment, there on a high from beating the aussies and Yuvraj Singh, love's the taste of the english!!!
Porky Posted 14 November 2008 Posted 14 November 2008 Well, that was worth staying up at night for. I really don't see England winning any of the remaining ODI's to be honest with you. Okay, perhaps they'll win one or two but no more than that. I see the 'experts' on SSN are blaming the stanford super series for England doing crap, but in reality, the Indians are just fooking awesome. They proved that against Australia. Roll on the test matches...

Roll on the test matches... Glad I didn't. My housemates did and they looked both physically and emotionally drained when I got up this morning. Seven ODI's is ridiculous. The ICC should just let 50 over cricket die a death and leave us with Test matches and Twenty20 internationals.

We went for 7 ODI's because thats what the Indian board wants as Test matches are fairly poorly attended. The England players also didn't want to spend Christmas abroad again so that only left time for 2 Test's.
Corky Posted 14 November 2008 Posted 14 November 2008 The time has come to seriously think about recalling Michael Atherton. He was always suited to the faster-paced one-day game
Corky Posted 18 November 2008 Posted 18 November 2008 Will you go away Raj <_< We'll win the Tests, this series isn't important One-day cricket isn't important to us, expect when we beat South Africa 4-0
Raj Posted 20 November 2008 Posted 20 November 2008 3-0!!! :scarf: (dont actually know the score but )
Milky Posted 20 November 2008 Posted 20 November 2008 Having an ODI stopped for bad light is ridiculas. Sounds like they knew it was going to get dark after 4pm, so either start the game earlier or put some lights on top of those shitty cowsheds. or just play to the end anyway

Alexikokopops Posted 20 November 2008 Posted 20 November 2008 We're gonna win 4-3, we're gonna win 4-3, FOUR-THREE!
