This is what really pisses me off with the whole immigration debate is that we, as a nation, are so hypocritical about it. We bemoan people coming here, then in the next breath talk about moving to the antipodes, or retiring in the Med! Every summer, thousands of young adults from Britain flood the jobs markets in Mediterranean resorts, with the intention of getting drunk and making an arse of themselves, but that's alright. There's not just British ghettos out there, there are whole towns full of ex-pats, all speaking English, eating fry-ups and roast dinners in English bars, but that's ok. Yet a Polish bar opens up on Narborough Road, and you'd think it was the beginning of an invasion!!

This is the reason why me and you could never be lovers, your just so damn right all the time!!!!:blush::P:D

Why does it "clearly not work"? Because you read some crap in a red top telling you this?

I don't know if you are aware of this, but the UK is an island; it is quite easy to "get in" if you really wanted to.

We have had a problem with illegal immigrants for a long time, yes even longer than you've been on this planet. This isn't a new problem, it's just one that someone, with an agenda, has decided to highlight. Yes ladies and gentlemen, the bandwagon is rolling!

The problem with illegal immigrants will not be solved by toughening up immigration rules. These people are already ignoring them, so all toughening up does is to make it harder for legitimate cases to succeed. The laws need to address the problems of those who are illegally employing people who shouldn't be here. They are the ones who are costing the taxpayer, not the immigrants. You also have to consider that when I say "employing", I don't just mean people working in sweatshops, a lot of these illegals are being used for things like prostitution, drug running etc. People try to come here for a better life, and end up being exploited by scumbags (usually British citizens) for a pittance. Surely these are the problems that need to be addressed?

As not being able to cope with numbers, birth rates are on the decline, my textbook quotes figures that show that more people are leaving the UK than are entering it legitimately, so I think your argument is somewhat flawed.

sorry but your books are wrong

so basically we can all believe what we want

Statistics can be found to suit any situation 9 times out of 10.

At the end of the day, scare stories about immigration sells newspapers. Back it up with some dodgy stats, and Bob's yer uncle!

Bob Holness?

Brilliant. I really wish he was.

I never understood that one either. People bang on about the loss of 'British identity' (I've NO IDEA what that means, incidentally), but surely if such a thing exists there's still more of it in Britain than anywhere else, so why moving to a country full of FOREIGNERS addresses that problem I'm not sure.

If you can't beat em, join em? That'll teach them a lesson. Look, I'm an immigrant too now. Hah!

I'm doing them a service by offering an alternative.

As my book is politically unbiased, and has no agenda setting, I tend to trust it more as a source of information than a media outlet controlled by the Government, using statistics collected for the Government.

There's too much sense being talked in this thread and I'm not comfortable with it.

Move the kop, get Pearson out, fu ck a duck, what phone shall I get and whack a turd in the post.

being politically unbiased and completely wrong may not be mutually exclusive

Outwardly the BNP is careful not to present a racist image, but yiou don't have to scratch far beneath the surface to find racist scumbags pulling the strings.

My German Grandfather was imprisoned by Adolf Hitler before the second world war. His family (who disowned him afterwards) couldn't see the problem with Adolf Hiller because he was patriotic and in on the side or ordinary Germans, he taked common sense and he revivied the economy. His seond wife lost her entire family in the concerntration camps.

The BNP are about the politics of envy and the politics of hate. The idea that they are just taking common sense is dangerous nonsense and if a few thousand BNP supporters are cacking themselves right now I have no sympathy at all, they are utterly unconcerned about the 'Human Rights' of anyone who isn't white British so to see them moaning that the 'human rights' of their members have been breached makes me sick.

I am sorry if this is out of line for a football forum but anyone who supports the BNP is part of the problem not the solution and beneath contempt.

How patronising!! We have a coastguard and the waters all round the U.K are monitored all the time.

More stringent checks at docks etc etc.

An island is far easier to keep check of than a landlocked country like our European neighbours.

Ask the Germans in the 40's, they couldn't get in. So i think that is flawed.

Australia seem to have the right idea, boat full of immigrants comes along and they leave them there in the water to float along merrily on their way.

Nothing wrong in that, if laws are clear in the first place then people wouldn't try to bend them.

All im saying is no more. Deport illegal immigrants quicker.

They do cost the taxpayer millions and millions. How can they not? They need more support than anyone in this country.

Homes and rent for free, translators, nhs while contributing nothing.

It is a fact they cost us more than they contribute, Labour have fu**ed up and covered this up for ages.

Birth rates in general coming down due to economic downturn no-one feeling as secure as when the boom of the housing market was happening, TBH it’ll be a good thing to decrease the population a little while we try to recover from this sh*t we’ve been landed in due to a false economy and every man and his dog taking advantage of a British boom.

People who came here for work (honest people) are soon disappearing back to their respective European countries due to the crap we are in now. These were legal EU workers too. I know builders undercut by these people cause they did the work cheaper and all they did was send the money home. They live 8,9 or more in one house and basically survive to send money home. I mean fair play to them. Tony Blair is the most popular foreigner in Poland. Nothing against the Polish whatsoever either, great people. We let them down in 39.

But what im trying to say is we have been mugged and its time we shut the country and said no-more. Get British people into work or cut their benefits off. Time to be a bit tougher on benefit cheats me thinks. No more should we sit by and let people take the pi** out of a great country such as ours. Yes even the people who live here. There has to be a limit. Labour have screwed us all over. This softly softly approach has to end, human rights for prisoners etc etc, their rights ended when they commited their crime.

Then when recovery is on its way we can take stock and see where our shortfalls are and WE can cherrypick what WE need in this country should there be any shortage in any area which needs work.

Anyway everyone has a right to their opinion and this is mine.

Country sorted job done.

Im a Tory myself and while no party is perfect a change is certainly needed.

Anyway blabbered on enough, kinda gone on, bit loosely n all over the place.

Happy reading and tearing apart ;)

Relax, kiddo, he was trying to wind me up. I'm pretty sure even Phube realises that socialism, the left wing political school of thought, and the Nazi party, a historical far right fascist party, don't go hand in hand.

And I really need to dig out the figures I was quoted on illegal immigrants by a friend of mine that's currently in training for the police service because they were hilariously low. We live in a time of tabloid sensationalism and easily lead individuals and when you actually find the truth behind the headline then it's often quite amusing.

& Tony, as far as your questions are concerned - feel free to ask. If you don't think it's appropriate here then feel free to private message me or send me an email. I'd like to point out that, while I've had my moments as a brash youth, I'm not an avid activist in Welsh nationalist politics and you're highly likely to receive unbiased answers.

& Bazaldo, lol, you realise you sound like Nick Griffin on a podium? Jesus wept. I was going to sit and pick apart that attempted rally but I'm really far too relaxed at the moment. Perhaps I'll stress myself out and come wading in here later in a storm of drama.

Omg you don't have a clue

They are ILLEGAL and therefore the Government do not know they are here. As far as the Government is concerned, THEY DO NOT EXIST. As a result of this, THEY CANNOT CLAIM BENEFITS OR FREE HOMES ETC.

Is that clear enough?
