EnigmaticFox Posted 23 November 2008 Posted 23 November 2008 Pearson gets stacks of praise and credit. In fact I was wondering last night how many marks he'd have accumulated under the plus/minus system I adopted for Rob Kelly and Martin Allen.Twenty three games, four defeats, plenty of goals, reasonable defence, top of the League, I reckon he'd be would be closing in on +100. But he gets criticism the same as he'd get anywhere. Sometimes he confounds it and sometimes he has to think again. Football supporting is an emotional business. The roller coaster ride for your feelings is a big part of the draw. People live the game and want to win as badly as the manager and the players. Would he rather manage where hardly anyone gives a shit? Criticism wouldn't disappear and it wouldn't disappear in the Championship either. Pearson gets well paid here and he's well thought of by everyone as far as I'm aware. But City fans have had a torrid time these last years. Not just in terms of their results but the way they've played their football. Last season's tragic comedy was beyond any defence. And whenever there's the slightest hint of repeating that sort of shit it bothers me and it bothers some other people too. And it should bother the boss. He forks out big money for our players and can reasonably expcect some sort of performance, not just in terms of the result but in terms of the way we play. It is bloody lovely to see City at the top of the table but anyone thinking we've seen the best this team can offer is kidding themselves. There's a damn sight more to come from them and some of us won't hesitate to keep encouraging that improvement. Yes, we'll be a while yet before we're back setting the standards I'd like to see and was brought up on. But I've every hope that Pearson will be making the journey with us all the way towards that end. This has to be the most thought out and constructive mailing I have seen on this site, since I joined. An object lesson in intelligent and clear sighted writing, from someone who clearly knows what he's talking about. All of you who just use profanities and silly put downs when writing on here, please take note. Thank you Mr Thracian

Thracian Posted 23 November 2008 Posted 23 November 2008 Ask him about Sheehan! Or about our free kicks ever since he left?
The Stig Posted 23 November 2008 Posted 23 November 2008 I wouldn't be bothered if he went... surely anyone could be top of League 1 with the players we have here. I honestly can't believe that a fan of a club which has had to endure such turmoil due to changes in management over the years could day such a thing. Do you have any idea what effect the departure of a manager has on a club and its players? Going through all that again could be disasterous for our season.
Corky Posted 23 November 2008 Posted 23 November 2008 Or about our free kicks ever since he left? At least we aren't suffering the Dennis Wise short-corner routine
carterfox90 Posted 24 November 2008 Posted 24 November 2008 they will go for boothroyd pearson is still new to the managers game & he will stay with us no sweat
davieG Posted 24 November 2008 Posted 24 November 2008 I still maintain that Nigel Pearson is a man of integrity and will not walk out on LCFC, he will be here until his contract expires or he's sacked. I firmly believe that he will value this statement of loyalty on his CV as much as he will the ability to manage a successful team. Obviously I don't know the guy but that's the impression I get.

Babylon Posted 24 November 2008 Posted 24 November 2008 I wouldn't be bothered if he went... surely anyone could be top of League 1 with the players we have here.He has shown when it comes to things like formation, tactics, substitutions etc. that they have not paid off for him. You're from a different planet.
potter3 Posted 24 November 2008 Posted 24 November 2008 I don't think Fryatt is doing too good either tbf. It'll take a lot for him to wipe away last season. about 15 goals and quite a few assits too, might not have scored at all yesterday without Fryatt. We are bigger than bloody charlton and watford put together, 8th biggest city in the country massive fan base, proud history come on have a word with yourselves we will be back! I know Charlton, honestly, they're from the middle of nowhere
Bazaldo Posted 24 November 2008 Posted 24 November 2008 Charlton Watford even saying those names sends..............zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz
Koke Posted 24 November 2008 Posted 24 November 2008 about 15 goals and quite a few assits too, might not have scored at all yesterday without Fryatt. 16 goals and 8 assists to be exact. Top score and top on the assist table.
jonw88 Posted 24 November 2008 Posted 24 November 2008 16 goals and 8 assists to be exact.Top score and top on the assist table. Watford have just installed Brendan Rodgers as manager, who i remember we were linked with at various times last season (he's the chelsea reserves guy). I don't see pearson moving to charlton, why change a winning promotion mentality for a relegation mentality? surely he had enough of that last year? It's funny how Charlton are now in the position we found ourselves in a couple of seasons after being relegated, goes to show that if you can't get promoted straight back that you'll struggle and may end up being relegated.
