Guest Posted 3 December 2008 Posted 3 December 2008 I honestly cannot pick one away day that stands out above all the others. I have had some cracking days out!
Sir Alex Ferguson Posted 3 December 2008 Posted 3 December 2008 Leyton Orient, this season. Went down to the Smoke on the half 8 train on the saturday morning with about 10-15 geezers. First pint at 10 because the 24-hour city, was still asleep. ended up in leytonstone at about 2. Pubs were packed so we got a few cans and were in some park drinking. well oiled by the time the clock struck 3. Then went out in soho after the match. Got home about 10 at night. Proper day...
Corky Posted 3 December 2008 Posted 3 December 2008 I honestly cannot pick one away day that stands out above all the others. I have had some cracking days out! Well you've got one from about 12 million to choose from
Floating Fox Posted 3 December 2008 Posted 3 December 2008 I was in this pub. It was the slug and lettuce on the corner wasnt it? Yeah me too , thought someone would start swinging when the Dennis Wise songs started Slug & Lettece was epic. Spent about 15 minutes trying to get in with Fake ID  Everyone was bouncing singing city songs. Beer EVERYWHERE. Loved it.
Floating Fox Posted 3 December 2008 Posted 3 December 2008 This thread kind of inspired me to update my blog (that and the fact I had nothing todo today!) with pictures from this season's games. Some great times Click the signature!
Legend_in_blue Posted 3 December 2008 Posted 3 December 2008 Derby away. 4-0 up in 15 minutes. Absolutely brilliant.
Sparky Posted 3 December 2008 Posted 3 December 2008 Derby away. 4-0 up in 15 minutes. Absolutely brilliant. What a day that was !!
J.Lisemore Posted 3 December 2008 Posted 3 December 2008 Mine would probably be Chelsea and Barnsley 07/08 season. But the best will have to be the Tranmere game at Wembley 2000...one of the best days of my life.
Ilkeston_Fox Posted 3 December 2008 Posted 3 December 2008 Yep, Derby 4-0 was magic!! Surprised Deepdale hasn't been mentioned (couple of seasons ago 1-0 last 5 mins winner) Both pubs either side of the road just completely taken over by city fans Both Barnsley trips were very decent, both same results, both similar atmospheres did enjoy singing 'come on in' to our lot who had the police escort
GLC Posted 4 December 2008 Posted 4 December 2008 Yep, Derby 4-0 was magic!! Uncle Albert Posted 4 December 2008 Posted 4 December 2008 Sheff Utd was top draw! (Apart from walking back to the train station) Barnsley was class aswell the whole day was good, Maybes needing a piss all the way from Sheffield to Barnsley was a highlight. Stoke was alright apart from the result obviously. Me, Tommeh, Tevez and Ched have never had so much fun with away fans standing on the front rows. The rain didnt help.
Dan Posted 4 December 2008 Author Posted 4 December 2008 Go to Barnsley in January, when we are wandering around mid table and only take 2,000, it would be shit.Barnsley has only been good because of the circumstances & the following we've took because of it. well true but games like Leyton Orient in 79 wouldn't of been as good if we didn't go up from them etc. ive only been going away games last couple of seasons though so i aint really had much choice
Hackneyisblue Posted 4 December 2008 Posted 4 December 2008 well true but games like Leyton Orient in 79 wouldn't of been as good if we didn't go up from them etc.ive only been going away games last couple of seasons though so i aint really had much choice We had thousands down there, and for me it was gighlights like the 'free' programmes and the runaway burger stand. And Orient away agin this season has been the best one for me, although Fulham was also a great day.
CosbehFox Posted 4 December 2008 Posted 4 December 2008 Both Barnsley trips were very decent, both same results, both similar atmospheres did enjoy singing 'come on in' to our lot who had the police escort I remember last season, standing in the stadium and the atmosphere was whipping up. Then on the hill to the right of Oakwell, down came a few more hundred of City fans singing their guts. My mate was so nervous, he never spoke all game. I also felt the one previous was one of those - everyone turns up days rather than last season when it was the last surrender. well true but games like Leyton Orient in 79 wouldn't of been as good if we didn't go up from them etc. Might have one at Crewe this season.....a very average place.
JakeShingler Posted 4 December 2008 Posted 4 December 2008 I'm hoping we go up* at Southend * If we do go up.
