Kilworthfox Posted 5 December 2008 Posted 5 December 2008 Why is it put in a place where it does not get looked at? We FT LCFC Fans ponied up the dough why has the flag not been put with the fans who paid the money for it to exist? I.E in L or K or in the South Stand?

I.E in L or K or in the South Stand? Maybe other people chipped in from other areas of the ground too. Maybe it should do a tour of stands and be with the fans that ponied up the dough. Maybe the club have had to have a say where it sits too. Maybe.

Hullfox Posted 5 December 2008 Posted 5 December 2008 or maybe not? Well I can guarantee that 2 of my 3 points are not actually maybes.
Kilworthfox Posted 5 December 2008 Author Posted 5 December 2008 Well I can guarantee that 2 of my 3 points are not actually maybes. If I could come up with a blanket rule which would please everyone I would be a wonderful intermediary? However I don't think it is possible with 99.9% of things in life let alone peoples opinions on football.

Kilworthfox Posted 5 December 2008 Author Posted 5 December 2008 Maybe it won't fit anywhere in L or K.How do you know it's not getting looked at? I heard a bloke a couple of rows behind me moaning about it Also only people who like looking at empty blue seats and wondering if the Fusions restaurant is busy today will see it.

Alexikokopops Posted 5 December 2008 Posted 5 December 2008 Fez and I had a many a discussion with the club about where it can go. Advertising hoardings and where people have sits rule out a lot of places. The plan is to have it somewhere where it's visible from both the Kop and L/K because that's where a lot of people who chipped in sit. I haven't been to the Walkers for a while because I can't physically make it on a Tuesday night from London so I'm not sure where it's currently residing. The club were going to stick hooks up though so we could put it in front of one of the exec boxes because not all of them are sold, with the option of moving it along if it blocks a box that does got sold. Or something. I've had a liquid lunch and this is a sleepy afternoon at work, a lot of this might not make sense. Take it away Fez.

To be honest, the amount of hours myself, Alex and especially Peter Jones have put into trying to make this work has been ridiculous. Basically, it's not as simple as some people might think. I've always said I'm open to any ideas but the club has certain rules that cannot be bypassed, particularly with regard to advertising. I will be in L/K for the first time tomorrow so I'll be looking to see whether there's any chance of moving it over there but I'm not holding out much hope. It's logistically very difficult to just plonk it anywhere. Any questions or suggestions, please let me know. What exactly was the moan anyway?
Jimmy Posted 5 December 2008 Posted 5 December 2008 there are loads of empty seats at the back of the family stand, can it not be put there

Fez of Mahrez Posted 5 December 2008 Posted 5 December 2008 there are loads of empty seats at the back of the family stand, can it not be put there We've veered away from the Family Stand since it was put there for the first home game with MK Dons and fans started hauling it down to get to their seats (despite there being thousands of empty seats in that end, but never mind). I think we would have the same problem to be honest. With the way the club sell tickets etc, it makes it difficult to put it over empty seats that tickets may be sold for. They did put it in the corner of the Kop/East Stand for a few games earlier in the season but this wasn't really anything to do with me, more that Peter Jones wanted somewhere to put it and that seemed the easiest place at the time. The other problem is that it doesn't have the same impact when you put it over the seats. I've been thinking about the original idea again, of putting it over the seats that separate the away fans from the Family Stand but it doesn't look great. The angle of the seating means it loses half its height as viewed from the rest of the ground. If you imagine that the correct angle to view it from would therefore be from the sky above the ground, it doesn't look as good from any seat within the stadium. One idea I had recently is whether we could put it on the outside of the ground but this would probably be another logistical nightmare, not least because the best place for people viewing it as they walk to the ground would be, of course, the bloody away end.
Fosse Boy Posted 5 December 2008 Posted 5 December 2008 Think the executive boxes idea seems to make the most sense at the moment logistically.
Sods Posted 5 December 2008 Posted 5 December 2008 Fez ive emailed Carlisle for the possibility of using the flag on the terrace, as its looking like we won't be taking enough fans. Il let you know what response they give me.

I'm getting the smaller flag back tomorrow too so at least we'll have that.

Daggers Posted 5 December 2008 Posted 5 December 2008 Can't you just take it up L1? You just love to take things up your L1! Mucky bastard.
Ashley Posted 5 December 2008 Posted 5 December 2008 Remind me to bring the smaller flag tomorrow morning. I'll forget otherwise. Can't you just take it up L1? I've said before about having the smaller flags at home games and people said no it's an away flag thats why it says 'on tour' on it.
davieG Posted 5 December 2008 Posted 5 December 2008 I wondered where it had gone, but eventually saw it hanging near Fusions which I thought was as good as it's likely to get visible from L! and the Kop although a fair distance from there.
