Pearson post-match interview

Blame Stringer. His questions were ludicrous. There was no way Pearson was going to say we've virtually won the league, plus we know what he thinks about the fans- read his programme notes.

I'm not bothered if he sounds miserable, sarcastic etc- he's paid to manage this club and win matches, and he's doing that.

Wow, Pearson in undemonstrative shocker. :o

Sack him.

I do look forward to a Pearson radio interview which is in it's own way as entertaining as a Mad Dog or Ollie interview .Whereas the previous two managers were media monkeys and went full tilt in their attempts to be funny, Pearsons great skill is in being 100% dour and giving the radio interviewer an experience akin to being slowly asphyxiated by a plastic bag. I can imagine the squad gathered round the radio during the managers interview, pissing themselves as Stringer slowly dies on air. Pearson is the king of deadpan, the new Jack Dee

Hahahaha this thread is ridiculous.

I think some fans Alex just want to pick at the slightest little detail, to find something completely irrelevant to moan about.

Agreed, Stringer is a better commentator but when it comes to after match interviews, he fails badly. <_<

I like Stringer as a commentator, he's passionate, lively and comes out with some cracking quotes, but as an interviewer, he falls short. It was almost painful listening to it yesterday.

I think Ian Stringer is a decent commentator, but an interviewer he isn't, and I get the impression NP doesn't like him. As for the original post only a Leicester fan could be 4 points clear at the top of the league after a 4-0 demolition of a good side and sill complain about the tone of his voice in an interview. Have a word pal.

I concur.

Hmmm...I'll trade you your place in the Championship for our Manager.

On second thoughts, I'll wait til May

Pearson appears to have his feet firmly planted on the ground. He refuses to get caught up in the media hype, top of the tree points lead, or any speculation surrounding the future of his players. I applaud him for that.

He is a realist. It won't be over until the fat lady has belted out her version of "We are the champions".

I would suggest that this grounding is currently being continously re-installed into our squad. Top at Christmas means nothing in the history books unless we finish in a promotion position. It's way too early to confirm anything. We've currently finished half a job.

I believe this is the mentality that he his trying to portray during his post-match interviews. Nothing more, nothing less. No doubt, behind the scenes he will be dishing out praise to his players where it is due.

To some, he might not be good at interviews. As far as I'm concerned, as long as he continues to be a good Manager, he can be as poor as he likes when a microphone is thrust in his face.

NP is extremely clever when it comes to interview technique. You can almost feel Stringer quaking in his boots!

This is precisely what is required.

NP was constantly giving out instructions from the touchline, real passion was there. The players knew what they were doing, NP knew what he wanted, the guy gives off a really high level of authority. You don't mess with NP.

He might not show his passion in interviews but it's clearly there on the touchline. No messin', authoritative, no nonsense approach. And it works.

It does sound like Stringer is afraid of offending him by asking him a wrong question.
