Leicester City owner Milan Mandaric has moved up just one place to 52nd spot from last year on football's rich list.

Mandaric has an estimated fortune of £75million, an increase of £2m from 12 months ago, when he made his debut on the list which is an elite roll call of the sport's billionaires and millionaires.

Mandaric made his fortune by firstly setting up a business in his native Serbia mass-producing car spares, and then with US-based businesses producing computer components and high-tech telecoms products.

Above Mandaric at No.12 on the list is Simon Keswick, a Scottish businessman who is a financial backer of League One rivals Cheltenham Town and who is estimated to have a fortune worth £966m.

The list includes players, investors and managers and is topped for the first time by Manchester City's new owner Sheikh Mansour bin Zayed Al Nahyan, a 38-year-old who is estimated to be worth £15billion – more than twice as much as last year's No.1, the Chelsea owner Roman Abramovich, who slips to third place with a fortune worth £7bn and who is said to have lost more than £3bn in the recent economic downturn.

Separating the two at No.2 is a new entry, Lakshmi Mittal, who joined Formula One's Bernie Ecclestone and Flavio Briatore in investing in Queen's Park Rangers and is estimated to be worth £12.5bn.

The top player at 42nd is former England captain David Beckham, the LA Galaxy player currently on loan to AC Milan who is worth £125m.

Former Leicester City star Emile Heskey is ranked 100th, and the 19th player, with £12m.

Manchester United manager Sir Alex Ferguson is at No.78 with £22m while Arsenal's Arsene Wenger is No.92 with £14m.

The combined wealth of the people on the Football Rich List, researched and published today by football magazine FourFourTwo, is £61bn.

Despite the wealth, football expert Tom Cannon says the bubble is about to burst. "Season-ticket numbers will probably be down by about 10 per cent but renewals will be down by at least 15 or 20 per cent," he told the magazine.

surprised to see Heskey there! didn't think he had that much money!

He has been earning good coin from a young age. (since his move from us at least)

Also how much did Hesk contribute to keep us out of Administration

Heskey is the 19th richest player in the English leagues!?!?!

Well good on him... now at least we know that he doesn't need the money and he can move back here at some point in the near future! :giggle:

Why is Beckham in this if it's players/owners of English League clubs?

Edit: Discovered it's British Football as a whole, thus incorporating Beckham

just "dawned" on you :D

emile's always on these lists although his wage at Wigan will see him soon slip out (looks like he'll be on a bigger wage soon, however). I'm amazed no-ones furious at Junior Lewis' place in the top 10. Outragous!! oh and i gave Milan £2 mill for his birthday so that clears that up.

Where did Emile get all that money from?

Liverpool paid a fair bit, Birmingham probably, but us and Wigan? I can't recall him having any major sponsorship deals either.

Heskey would have been on a good wage ever since leaving us really. Big money move to Liverpool would have given him a bob or two.
