Bert Posted 12 January 2009 Posted 12 January 2009 So, basically wearing a replica shirt makes you less of a fan does it? (Unless it's one of your mates) Get real people. People can, and should be able to wear what they want to a football match without other people thinking, "Oh, what a ****, you've got a replica shirt on" The arrogance of some people on here is unbelievable at times. Although saying this, I no longer wear shirts to games as I've simply grown out of it, but some of the statements on here have been ludicrous.
GLC Posted 12 January 2009 Posted 12 January 2009 At this time of night?? you mad man! off to bed before i could get some, but cheese in my sarnies tomorrow
Shrenchel Posted 12 January 2009 Posted 12 January 2009 kop 1971 I don't get your point. a) They're not wearing team colours. They're holding up flags and scarves of the team colours. b) Even if they were, I clearly wasn't referring to every single football fan. You posted a recent photo ealier of Liverpool fans holding up scarves and wearing shirts but if you looked at their away support for an average match you'd probably struggle to find a replica shirt in there.
Edmund Posted 12 January 2009 Posted 12 January 2009 For me its best on holiday, I think my current shirt has had more wear abroad in a few weeks than here.In a way I like it that you wear a shirt at the services and that, does show who we are, oldham was classic with you and tommy then me ched and jamie on black. yeah defo. i remember last time i was in spain with my city shirt on walking past a cafe and just hearing some old guy with his wife and kids shout "blue army"!! went over and had a nice conversation with him discussing which parts of the shire we were from and discussing city. definitely some bonding there (not in a gay way)
sdb Posted 12 January 2009 Posted 12 January 2009 I love it on away days when you stop at a services or when youre on the train and you see someone else in their colours. I also love people seeing who I support. totally agree with that. i tend not to wear replica shirts because we've not had any good ones for ages and all my old ones are too small. but when i wear a scarf or something to a game i get a real sense of pride in displaying my support for lcfc beautiful. usually generates a bit of banter or gets a conversation going. 99% of fans are pretty decent imo - those like the ones on this thread's initial post are just wallies - nothing more.
samingram_uk Posted 12 January 2009 Posted 12 January 2009 off to bed before i could get some, but cheese in my sarnies tomorrow Its the stuff of nightmares anyway.

Spot the irony And you can't even tell what shirts they are wearing from that picture
GLC Posted 12 January 2009 Posted 12 January 2009 Did someone mention cheese? Mmmm, yes please. i did but im not having any now
Tommeh Posted 12 January 2009 Posted 12 January 2009 I don't know where "less of a fan" has been mentioned. Its just personal preference for me to not wear a shirt and seeing other people not wearing them.
Corky Posted 12 January 2009 Posted 12 January 2009 Did someone mention cheese? Mmmm, yes please. There you go.
Shrenchel Posted 12 January 2009 Posted 12 January 2009 Spot the irony And you can't even tell what shirts they are wearing from that picture There's no irony. I'm making two separate points. You can see a few geezers up the back clearly wearing everyday clobber.

That's fair enough, but surely you should respect their preference to wear a shirt? Not everyone is like, You, Ched and myself etc, everyone is different and has their own way of "supporting" the team, and you have to realise that. The one thing I'd love for everyone to do, is stand up for the whole game for the rest of the season, but sadly that won't happen.

The fact that I put up with LD3 every game in a shirt shows I do respect them. Never many shirts around in L1 it has to be said. Most vocal part if walkers, link?

Most vocal part if walkers, link? I see a few here and there, but everyone that has a shirt on there, stands and sings! So what's your beef with them? Also. Let me know a defo time for pick up on Wednesday, because I'll need to know what time to get up, to give me extra time to get to the ground so i can get me a new shirt.

Fez of Mahrez Posted 12 January 2009 Posted 12 January 2009 Marsh sometimes wears a shirt, especially to aways. No-one sings more or louder than him. Isolated statement, I'm not getting into an argument with the fashion police.
