Also nice of you to pick just me out of this whole discussion as well. Can't have you squabbling with the clique even if they think like me, can we? ;)

Sorry, I was going to actually give you a decent reply until you wrote this.

Sorry for replying to you & not Ched or Tommeh etc.

Oh & sorry JME for going against 'what others think.' But, I aint here to earn brownie points or say things because it will go down well with others, pal.

You can't even have a discussion with me without bringing in, 'Ched said..' or 'Alot agree with me.'

Your a joke mate.

So basically, you people hate people that sit in silence, not replica shirts.

And my whole post was directed at the fact that the people most likely to partake in this behaviour are...??

And before internet powerhouse starts, I didn't say all. I said most likely. Sheesh.

Edit: missed it.

You're a joke, lad. During a discussion, are you or are you not allowed to bring in quotations from other sources to support your own point of view? My thought would be yes. Obviously not on planet Tilley.

Do you think I give a sh!t if you're here to earn Brownie points? **** me it's an internet forum lol. I'm at uni and rarely post on here anymore - do you think I'm worried if I tread on a few toes when I occasionally swing by?

"Ched said" = evidence to support my opinion. "Alot agree with me" = further evidence that my opinion is shared by others and it itsn't me with pie-in-the-sky, outrageously mental ideas merely to wind people up. Don't see the problem, myself. I thought the whole idea of a discussion or debate was giving your opinion, reasons for it (as I have) and if there's evidence backing you up, quoting that as well. Apologies oh wise one, you are clearly more knowledgable than me.

Have a laugh son. Got your knickers in a twist because I'm not a huge fan of replica wearing at games. If that's the most you've got to get angry about in your life, then you're doing ****ing well.

Well I thought the game used to be traditionally more working class however sky tv, massive increases in ticket prices, the government/FA's drive to clean up the game etc has changed that.

In my opinion that is the overiding factor as to why football is losing its atmosphere too many prawn sandwich eaters

No idea how old you are mate - but as someone who was going to games in the 70's I swear that the "working class" aspect of the game was well on its way out and I'd now argue the the entire concept of working class is one that simply doesn't exist anymore and has little to do with Sky. The mass marketing of the game has contributed towards a drop in atmosphere but I do not believe you can tie this down to one issue and certainly not the claimed alienation of those who allegedly owned the game.

So basically, you people hate people that sit in silence, not replica shirts.

Not hate. Pity.

I'm pretty sure there's quite a few Leicester fans who don't wear colours yet they still sit and are quiet.

I actually think that a stadium looks good in the summer months when the majority is blue and the away is full of red for example, but then again I don't really care either way. It's the standing that looks good, not what they are wearing.

Admitedly im only mid twenties so a lot i say is going on what i've been told etc but even in my lifetime i think i've seen changes in the clientel going to games I don't think you can deny there is a different type of football fan now to what it used to be?

PS i agree the concept of working class doesn't exist anymore

god knows how a picture of a few lads turned into this! :crylaugh:

I believe that an entire away end in colour, all standing, looks fucking brilliant.

Hardly the only exception am I? It's not even a majority/minority thing. Ok, you get a few families decked heard to toe in whatever has the logo on that they can pick up from the club shop, but there are still alot of people who are vocal and wish to stand who wear colours too.

Spot on Mate.

@ everyone else opposed to this :

I know everyones allowed there own opinions but can i ask what is so attractive about all four corners of the stadium looking exactly the same in all black and navy blue designer labels.

Because if everyone had your mentality we would look the same home and away fans. Fook that.

At least wearing your home colours shows your supporting your team who incidentally wear those colours.

I really cant see the logic but hey.

Football's increasing accesability has rendered 'class' something of an irrelevance to the sport nowadays.

Rugby in the Welsh valleys, proper working class sport. ;)

I love it on away days when you stop at a services or when youre on the train and you see someone else in their colours. I also love people seeing who I support.

I'm more referring to an away support, personal preference I suppose. I think the point becomes more relevant when you go higher up the leagues though, without doubt.

If you see a Man United fan draped in replica gear, they've usually got a stupid facepaint as well as a little red devil cuddly toy. I suppose it comes down to what type of support you like to see. I never expected everyone to agree with me.

British terrace culture has been around from long before Danny Dyer was born mate.

Young lads have been wearing casual fashions instead of the team colours since the 60s.

Then again, we've pissed away most of our other footballing traditions. Might as well all go and get decked out in a picture of a tile with arms wearing a crown.

Meh, I'd be just as impressed to see a wall of blue City supporters at an away end than a wall of dark colour. It's about having some sort of consistency and solidarity if you want to create a poignant visual image.

Not really, you look the next time United are on Sky, they always manage to pick them out!

For me its best on holiday, I think my current shirt has had more wear abroad in a few weeks than here.

In a way I like it that you wear a shirt at the services and that, does show who we are, oldham was classic with you and tommy then me ched and jamie on black.

Thats what does it for me. I don't wear my shirt very often, but if I want to get noticed then I will.
