davieG Posted 21 January 2009 Posted 21 January 2009 According to the BBC news. I wonder how many teams will end up with no sponsorship on their shirts? Could this be the start of the collapse of the money driven football in England? Let's hope it hits the big boys first although I doubt it, I fear we could well see some smaller clubs, even relatively well run ones going to the wall or at best exiting the League as the result of draconian points deductions.
SOCCERROO FOX Posted 21 January 2009 Posted 21 January 2009 Maybe they can have some crap slogan on there shits like "United Forever"

Phube Posted 21 January 2009 Posted 21 January 2009 No... One of the banks that caused this mess and had to be held up by the US government not putting millions into a Football team!! NOOOO!!!!
Zingari Posted 21 January 2009 Posted 21 January 2009 I thought AIG had gone bust , if so , renewing wasn't really an option
Ultra Posted 21 January 2009 Posted 21 January 2009 No great surprise. AIG have gone bust (probably not because of Manyoo though) and had to be bailed out by the US government. I'm sure the Glazers have another megabucks deal lined up.
Guest Bilo Posted 21 January 2009 Posted 21 January 2009 They need to sponsored by Speedo. Make all that diving seem oddly comedic.
Tilley Posted 21 January 2009 Posted 21 January 2009 There is talk of them getting some Saudi sponsor.

It'd be nice if it was but I wouldn't want it to be at the expense of lower league clubs, who would inevitably be the first to suffer. Be nice to see some of the big boys taken down a peg or two financially though, might level the playing field a little bit.

SystonFox Posted 22 January 2009 Posted 22 January 2009 If i was them i'd have had 'WACCOE' would be funny, to rub leeds fans noses in it, but then that website / forum would receive so many hits.

Could this be the start in a collapse of players salaries and jet-set lifestyles?
Jordan Posted 22 January 2009 Posted 22 January 2009 The days of the bourgeois AIG are over; the new People's Democratic Insurance Agency will never sponsor such capitalist scum!
