Thracian Posted 23 January 2009 Posted 23 January 2009 My youngest is in the market for a sensibly priced second hand car. As usual he wants the earth for as little as possible but, from what he says a Vauxhall Astra diesel in decent nick would go down well, or something comparable. Any help would be much appreciated.

Zingari Posted 23 January 2009 Posted 23 January 2009 second hand cars are as cheap as chips these days , people are practically giving them away . any reasonable offer to dealers these days won't be refused , try offering about 25 to 30 % off what they are asking , you may be suprised
Floating Fox Posted 23 January 2009 Posted 23 January 2009 Got a dark blue 52 Fiesta with Tax & MOT only done in November. Very good nick

Hmm how about a 1994 Vauxhall Cavalier 2.0 sri. 1994. Under 90,000 miles. It drives fine. Alloys, sunroof. Need to fix the sports strip at the side (or the driver's door does not open fully: doesn't bother me, I normally go in through the passenger side). Engine management a bit temperamental but does not stop the car starting or running. ABS light generally on. Small hole in petrol tank (half way up), might be fixable, not sure. In spite of these little faults, I will miss my lovely, sporty Cavalier - served me well for 8 years Collecting my Toyota Avensis on 1st Feb. Would be happy to sell the Cavalier for £200.
