Superbowl XLIII. Pittsburgh Steelers vs Arizona Cardinals

So, Superbowl XLIII has finally arrived.

Pittsburgh Steelers go into the game as hot favourites to win their sixth Superbowl title. They are up against newcomers to the Superbowl, Arizona Cardinals.

The Steelers are tipped to win by around seven points, however they will be facing a strong opposition, who have an explosive offence, especially with the experienced Karl Warner and Larry Fitzgerald. Steelers have their own quality in defence though, most impressive being Troy Polamalu.

The Cardinals beat Philadelphia in the play-offs, whereas Steelers were victorious over Baltimore Ravens two weeks ago, to set up tomorrow's showdown in Tampa Bay.

My bet is on Steelers, but it shall be tougher than they expect, and they shouldn't be complacent

I'm going for 31-21

I actually support New England Patriots, but after Brady was ruled out for the season early on, it never looked likely that they would make it.

I have a funny feeling that Fitzgerald and Boldin can break a few big ones for the Cinderella Cards and make this quite interesting. Arizona has looked unexpectedly awesome this postseason aside from most of the second half against Philly--Now, whether or not I want to take the 7 points or 7/4 odds straight up is another story...

Shit, I should have done a FT Super Bowl pool via PayPal or something.

here's how it works:

have a blank 10x10 box square with a set fee per box and the player choose as many boxes as he or she has paid for. After all the boxes are filled, the numbers 0--9 are put in a random order over the rows and columns of the box with the rows representing one team and the columns the other. The numbers are the ones digit of the team's score, and prizes are awarded based on the score after each quarter; for example, if the score is Steelers 14, Cardinals 6, then the person with the "Steelers 4/Cardinals 6" box wins. The total payout is usually around 10% of the pool for the 1st quarter score, $20 for halftime, 10 and 60% for the final score.

You can also do the pool 50/50, with half the buy-in going to the pool and the other half for FT or a charity.

Maybe something to consider for next year (unless there's enough demand to buy 100 boxes by Sunday afternoon :P)

I've just got back from playing the Steel-bowl Varsity game, and losing 21-14 to Hallam. Over 200 yards of penalties against us, fucking refs!! It was minus 5 at one point in a hail blizzard. Horrible weather. Horrible game.

I'm not in the mood to watch this but I know I will!

Come on you Cards!

Well I've got various bets on this so Steelers by 13+ or Cardinals by 1-6 points, Hightower or Willie Parker for first touchdown and Arizona to win........

and we're off.....
