Am I the only one that just thinks he's stunningly over-rated, not worth this hype, never good enough to "save" Arsenal or their season and probably not even worth being Wenger's first "big money" purchase?

Nope, hugely over-hyped transfer. From what I've seen he looks a decent player, but there's got to be reasons why he's never made it further than Zenit in his career? Two good games at the Euros has earned him this move, that's it.

Id agree with you, one half decent euro championship and hes a top class player.

Looking forward to seeing him play, I just hope the 'Arse' get back to the top, challenging Yanited.

Sadly can't see it happening this season without Fabregas.

Only time will tell.

I am reserving judgement, so come back to be in about 6 weeks and i'll answer then.

I honestly never understood what he was being hyped for in the Euros, either.

He's hardly going to come and have the impact of a Robinho (as shity as City have been, he has been good) or a Torres.

He's a hard worker, by the looks of things, and he's fairly skillful but if Russia hadn't have been the surprise package of the EUROs he'd be no more than an Everton / Spurs sort of size signing.

Agreed.

I think the Premier League is a League which will be far to big for him, Arsharvin needs to be in a League where he will get time on the ball and can get his head up. Something that you dont get in England in any of the Leagues. But I said the same about Modric and he looks to of done alright so there maybe a chance.

Yea Arsharvin had a decent European Championship but again that was a tournament all about playing football which the Premier League isnt its about getting wins no matter what, something Arsenal cant seem to muster up. They are more worried about playing the right football. Arsenal is the right team for him but England is the wrong country for him, if you get me.

Barca, A.C or Real would of been a much more sensible move for Arsharvin so that he can be in a League that suits his style. Yet this move may also improve this area of his game, we'll have to wait and see.

But he's just not good enough for Barca or Real or AC Milan, else one would have signed him up. When he was doing his thing in the summer about "I only want to go to Barca" I just thought... you total twat. You look at the side they have there and where is he supposed to fit? Not good enough.

I thought Modric would do okay, he's lightweight but he's a scrapper and he's used to a bit of physicality. But he wasn't hyped as being some uberstar, either. Sure we went on a bit about how good his passing was but there was NEVER this much carry-on about him.

Ow yea I agree that Arsharvin isnt good enough for them teams, totally agree. I was just using them as examples of the style of team that he should be looking to play for in them chosen Leagues.

The Premier League is far to quick and firey for him and I wouldnt be surprised if he got a crunching in his first game due to the fact he cant keep up with the pace.

He is class and deserved the hype (but then I raved about him a while before Euros :P ),but I wouldn't say he's that much of a hard worker. Doubt he'll have the Robinho impact, he's probably more suited to La Liga than Premiership.

I like Arshavin and It would be great to see if he can handle the Premiership.

He has ability, speed and strength so I am sure he would do well, but If Arsenal think they have brought a saviour, this is not the answer.

Only time will tell how well he does providing the move still goes through, It was thought he would be a Barca player but Pep wasn't interested at all, I would have had him over Hleb any day.

One player from Zenit who is under-rated in my opinion is Tymoschuk, he is a fantastic midfielder and I think Bayern have done well to secure his signing.

When will we actually find out if he has gone or not?

FA have said there is a few transfers that have gone through but not been announced yet, so I presume this is one of them.

Does this mean there could be a massive shock transfer still to be announced...
