Penteny did very well today.

His only problem is he cant kick it very far off the deck. Out of his hands is fine, but off the deck, he could just about get it to the half way line - Howard was having to move back.

He did OK, and produced a stunning save from Robson-Kanu.

But the lad was hardly tested with corners and crosses. He wasn't put on pressure so how people can say he will be well equipped to stay between the sticks until further notice, I'm not sure.

25 minutes cameo is not enough to judge a player, particularly not a goal keeper.

Pentney looked very good, made two vital saves and his drop-kicking was impressive.

Yeah his kicking was excellent, one went straight to Howard and another went straight to Fryatt, seems to have a long kick aswell. U could tell he practices kicking in straight lines alot as many of them were really straight. I think he will fill the position until Hendo or Martin are fit again

I hope LCFC can keep David Martin if we get promoted back to The Championship, He's been a very good goalkeeper for us in League One this season.

Come on Pearson hurry up and put a good bid in for him at Liverpool FC

I presume Father Ted is out celebrating? :P

You really do know me don't you! :P

Thank God for this. Finally, a young better Goalie being given a chance.

Pentney was better than kicking, shot-stopping and great communication than Martin, but no, nobody would listen to me!

Anyone listen to RL after the game, some tool rang up and asked about getting Fulop back on loan. Genuine request too.

You could picture Stringer shaking his head as he said, playing in goal for Premier league team...

Yeah lol

He didn't even mention his name either I don't think.

He just said, what about that keeper we had at Sunderland lol

We've got Logan too so we're hardly devoid of choices.

Pearson didn't give the impression Martin was badly injured but if he's going to be out I hope he takes the time to get some proper boots with some proper studs.

I've noticed it for several games now - he's forever losing his balance and even falling over when he kicks.

It's frightening, expecially as he rarely kicks out of his hands but prefers to drop the ball and kick it directly off the turf. One of these days he'll slip and top it straight to an attacker.

Yeah the fat one or the kid - I'm sure Pearson's over the moon

Pentney looked twice the keeper of Martin.

2 great saves, better kicking, he threw it out more and caught the ball confidently.

Hopefully he will start Tuesday.
