lildave3 Posted 27 February 2009 Posted 27 February 2009 O'Neill knew he'd get outdone by Zico anyway.
Ultra Posted 28 February 2009 Posted 28 February 2009 Hope Man City can do well now and progress to the Semi's at least. What aload of bollocks though, two English teams playing weaker teams and both dont seem bothered that they are out. Load of shite. Man City are such poor travellers. Can't see them getting anywhere near the semis.
isaidno Posted 12 March 2009 Posted 12 March 2009 Two cracking goals by Man City. Wright-Phillilps goal was a belter
Katy Posted 12 March 2009 Posted 12 March 2009 Is the COMS full tonight? When is it ever? PSG Braga finished 0-0. Hmmm, will have to go some to get a result there I think.
Joe. Posted 12 March 2009 Posted 12 March 2009 Kelvin Etuhu was groomed at Leicester for this moment in his career.
lildave3 Posted 12 March 2009 Posted 12 March 2009 Job done in the first leg for City, but at home it was always going to be quite comfortable for me. Away though...
Darkzzz_ Posted 12 March 2009 Posted 12 March 2009 I love the Uefa Cup. I am looking forward to the new format next season.
Samilktray Posted 12 March 2009 Posted 12 March 2009 I love the Uefa Cup.I am looking forward to the new format next season. Isnt it called the Europa something next year? Thats as cheesey as your gonna get.
Darkzzz_ Posted 12 March 2009 Posted 12 March 2009 Isnt it called the Europa something next year?Thats as cheesey as your gonna get. Yes mate, the name is pretty lame, but the format should be good. I say "Should" be good.
Samilktray Posted 12 March 2009 Posted 12 March 2009 Yes mate, the name is pretty lame, but the format should be good.I say "Should" be good. Whats the format next year? It is a bit of a shambles as it is now.
Katy Posted 12 March 2009 Posted 12 March 2009 Isnt it called the Europa something next year?Thats as cheesey as your gonna get. Jeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeez! That's a stomach churner
Corky Posted 12 March 2009 Posted 12 March 2009 Isnt it called the Europa something next year?Thats as cheesey as your gonna get. Europa League from next year.

Floating Fox Posted 13 March 2009 Posted 13 March 2009 I wouldn't call it shocking. Uefa have devalued the cup to a point where most people don't give a fook about it. There were 7 games tonight with attendances lower than Man City's. AC Milan only got 23,000 thousand are their fans were paying even less than Man City did. 19,000 at Galatasary etc etc. I wouldn't say UEFA are the ones that have devalued it really. IN Europe, most countries anyway, this competition is pretty big still. Just over here it isn't valued because of the $$$ (Or lack of it!) Hope Man City can do well now and progress to the Semi's at least. What aload of bollocks though, two English teams playing weaker teams and both dont seem bothered that they are out. Load of shite. As I said above English teams don't give a **** anymore. It says something when there are more Ukrainen teams left in the competition than Italian, English & Spanish put together! Job done in the first leg for City, but at home it was always going to be quite comfortable for me. Away though... Even Manure struggled at Aalborg. Oh & Galatasary fans -
Fez of Mahrez Posted 13 March 2009 Posted 13 March 2009 Of the teams left in, Zenit look a good bet to retain their trophy.Man City won't get past Aalborg. Looking good so far.
shen Posted 13 March 2009 Posted 13 March 2009 http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/UEFA_Cup#New_...2009.E2.80.9310 I still don't like the idea of eliminated Champions League entering the UEFA Cup/Europa League/whatever. UEFA are themselves devaluating it by including failed teams from their other competition. And the page didn't explain what happens with the teams (e.g. how many qualify/what round do they enter in) from the national associations ranked 1-6
shen Posted 13 March 2009 Posted 13 March 2009 Job done in the first leg for City, but at home it was always going to be quite comfortable for me. Away though... The home crowd wasn't exactly spurring their team on, and based on yesterday's performance City don't even have to get out of 2nd gear in Aalborg. The gulf in quality and class was obvious to see yesterday. Good European campaign by AaB though. Now is the big boys' play time though...

shen Posted 13 March 2009 Posted 13 March 2009 Man City are a different team away from home. Their 2-2 draw at Copenhagen should have been a clear victory, had they not spurned a host of guilt-edged chances. AaB are in a bit of a slump and they must surely be short of belief prior to the return leg. They won't keep a clean sheet which means they'll have to score four times. As bad as City's defense is, AaB will never achieve that if they keep playing a Sheff Utd and Vålerenga reject alone up top *shakes head*
purpleronnie Posted 13 March 2009 Posted 13 March 2009 I hope Man City do well but with their away form I cant see them winning it.
shen Posted 18 March 2009 Posted 18 March 2009 Tyrone Mears effectively knocked out Ajax with an extratime goal tonight
Darkzzz_ Posted 19 March 2009 Posted 19 March 2009 Tyrone Mears effectively knocked out Ajax with an extratime goal tonight I was glad he got the goal, a brave goal at that.
