Joe. Posted 19 March 2009 Posted 19 March 2009 Season saved - for now. Man City win 5-3 on penalties.
Edmund Posted 19 March 2009 Posted 19 March 2009 What a penalty that was. That was one of the best penalties ive ever seen. Had a Brazilian esq about it.
Jonezy Posted 19 March 2009 Posted 19 March 2009 Thats the 3rd Danish team Man City knock out, two of them on penalties..... Bastards.
shen Posted 19 March 2009 Posted 19 March 2009 Harsh on Aalborg that. Don't think City deserved that, but ultimately AaB weren't good enough. Brilliant penos by Johansson and Nomvethe though!
Edmund Posted 19 March 2009 Posted 19 March 2009 Did anyone else hear the interview with Given? His Irish accent is so strong sounds like he is swearing heavily at the interviewer, every time he says shootout.
Fez of Mahrez Posted 19 March 2009 Posted 19 March 2009 Right, well this is going to sound racist but I can't be arsed to try and re-phrase it. Those black chaps up front for Aalborg were having a worst-first-touch competition all of their own.

Those black chaps up front for Aalborg were having a worst-first-touch competition all of their own. Shocking..... To be fair the American, Tracy I think his name is, was hit and miss. To be fair it was a pretty piss poor match until the last half hour or so of normal time.

Those black chaps up front for Aalborg were having a worst-first-touch competition all of their own. The whole team was trying to win that compo in the first leg! Awful! But you wouldn't expect class touches from a Southampton reject with an appalling goal per game ratio, and an unknown and untried import from the American NCAA-league (the what?)...
syston_fox Posted 20 March 2009 Posted 20 March 2009 On the down side I hope that doesnt mean that Hughes will rest players on Sunday now that Ive finally found the time to go back to the COMS
Ultra Posted 20 March 2009 Posted 20 March 2009 The fact that Man City scraped through shouldn't distract us from the fact that Robinho was p!sspoor AGAIN! Is he the biggest waste of money in the history of world football?
Samilktray Posted 20 March 2009 Posted 20 March 2009 The fact that Man City scraped through shouldn't distract us from the fact that Robinho was p!sspoor AGAIN!Is he the biggest waste of money in the history of world football? No.
syston_fox Posted 20 March 2009 Posted 20 March 2009 The fact that Man City scraped through shouldn't distract us from the fact that Robinho was p!sspoor AGAIN!Is he the biggest waste of money in the history of world football? 12 goals and countless assists.... awful! The amount of points that he's won for them at the City of Manchester Stadium is the reason that they aren't involved in the relegation battle.
Darkzzz_ Posted 20 March 2009 Posted 20 March 2009 Robinho is over rated though in my opinion. I think Real were right to cash in, he has done ok at City and Syston makes a good point, but I don't think he is as good as what people make out. He usually went missing in the big games in La Liga.
CosbehFox Posted 20 March 2009 Posted 20 March 2009 DID Gala lose?! Yes. Comeback of the day from Hamburg.
syston_fox Posted 20 March 2009 Posted 20 March 2009 Hamburg.... will be tough that one but glad that City are at home for the second leg. Can see them losing the away game and winning the home one!
purpleronnie Posted 20 March 2009 Posted 20 March 2009 If PSG get Marseille in the semis, I recommend people to go, I saw that game years ago and remains one the the greatest football experiences I've ever had.
Uncle Albert Posted 20 March 2009 Posted 20 March 2009 Man City done Hamburg in the group stages earlier in the competition didnt they? I full expect them to get to the Final and possibly win the competition now.
syston_fox Posted 20 March 2009 Posted 20 March 2009 Man City done Hamburg in the group stages earlier in the competition didnt they? Wasn't it Schalke, Twente, Real Racing Club and PSG in the group? May be wrong though. To be honest with Man City's away record this season I think they'll do well to progress beyond this round.
