Tigers Vs. Bristol

Mmh, I can understand your point of view but I can kind of understand theirs too. People wearing Tigers shirts to games (that aren't headed off to Welford Road afterwards) probably fall into two groups:

1. Those who just like the Tigers tops and are wearing it as they'd wear any other item of clothing. Probably hasn't even occured to them this may wind anyone up - to be fair the Tigers have had some really nice shirts (I love green.)

2. Those who see Leicester sport as one big entity and probably think they're showing support by showing up in their hoops.

I'm not saying either is really right or wrong - just a difference of opinion. Like I said, I can certainly understand your view and I've never actually worn a rugby shirt to a City game (though I did once get into a debate with a chav Cardiff fan at a Wales game who made a snide comment about the fact I was wearing a Scarlets rugby shirt - the twat was wearing a Cardiff City shirt which is about ten million times as provocative and they only do it to wind up the Jack Army.)

This. What is the ****ing point in this? I'll say it again just so I can clarify: Leicester Tigers and Leicester City are NOT the same ****ing team.

Bloody w@n£er$ wearing rugby shirts. Who are they to support two teams and pay there hard earned cash to only wear a shirt which only represents a team 100 yards down the road.

Traitors

I wonder what the attendance at this will be like. Pretty sure they'll get 20,000.

I saw several Tigers tops in the Kop on Saturday. They all left after about 75 minutes for their match. What's the point in going to the City? All they did was moan. Loved it when people started shouting 'don't come back' at them :)

Same, I counted 3 of them!

1. I can see why it wouldn't occur to them that they'd be winding people up - like I said t'other day people from outside Leicester automatically presume I'm an avid Tigers fan just because they're Leicester-based. Though I would suggest (although I couldn't be certain because I never go to Welford Road) that Tigers fans may be less appreciative if people turned up to their games wearing City shirts, moaned all game, didn't know players names and left early - especially considering how they look down their noses at City in general (from my experiences anyway). It'd be even worse I'm sure if said activities happened at an away game and stopped a genuine Tigers fan from attending?

2. Again, can see why they might think this but they have to appreciate that they may be stepping on the toes of certain people who may not like rugby and in turn feel no affinity for Tigers whatsoever. Despite what the council would have you believe by putting up a statue celebrating a successful year for all Leicester-based sport, there is no real evidence to suggest that all Leicester teams are linked and like each other enough to be affiliated. City fans like myself don't like the Tigers, the Tigers fans I've had experiences with are all extremely snobbish and look down their noses at City fans, the cricket fans who go to Grace Road all season round get annoyed when all the loutish bandwagoners and football fans turn up for the 20/20 games and Leicester Riders have no fans at all. That's how I view it anyway?

I'm a cranky bastard at the best of times, so when a subject which is a real pet-hate of mine comes up I'm even worse. :P

It's fair enough - support two teams to their heart's content. They're two separate sports and two separate teams, though. Support the football team at the football ground and the rugby team at the rugby ground. Or is that just too illogical for you to comprehend?

Great win on Saturday, especially as they had a man sent off, and were down to 14 men.

The should tank Bristol, which would be good, seeing as I am looking for a return on the £24 I spent on my ticket for the game :\

EDIT: I like the Tigers, and do support them. Feck the snobs, I really couldn't care less about what they think of the football club. I follow tigers becuase they are a team that I am proud of, being a world renownd Rugby Union power.

I know and understand why some citeh fans don't like the tigers, and the many reasons there are for that, but I do wish those people that are Tigers-hating wouldnt jump down the throats of those of us who do like both out football and rugby teams.

That is all

What happens if they were going to both games and they are more of a rugby fan but decided to watch city as well. Are they suppose to walk around with two shirts?

What I can't comprehend is your logic on the matter.

In which case how can they sit/stand all game and moan about things they don't completely understand, chastise people they don't know the names of and leave early yet think this won't annoy people?

Like I said, if a fan in a City shirt turned up and moaned about everything, shouting things like "who's the number 8?", "handball!", "the goalposts look different to the last time I watched football" and "haha look at the fat bloke trying to run!!" then left early, do you think they'd get no flack at all from Tiggers fans? Come off it.

Am I alone in wanting Leicestershire based teams to do well in football, cricket and rugby?

On the issue of people wearing Tigers tops at Filbert Way, I couldn't care less. What winds me up is seeing kids wearing 'Big Four' football gear. At least the people in Tigers shirts are supporting the city itself in some way.

I think it's a real shame that more people don't support all of Leicester's sports teams and instead decide to be content bitching about each other, largely basing their views on complete misconceptions, i.e. City fans saying "Tigers fans are all toffs" and Tigers fans saying "City fans are all chavs/hooligans" etc.

Although I must admit it does annoy me when I meet someone who says "I support Tigers, Leicestershire CCC and [insert generic big football club]".

1. I only follow the City and the County. The Tigers don't appeal to me at all, not a fan of Rugby (either code), but I don't dislike them either, I just ignore them mainly.

2. The wearing of Big 4 merchandise is disgusting. The Tigers I can just about stand, but another, English football club? Ridiculous. I did laugh at the Dons though, they took that to new heights lol

1. That's fair enough. I just don't see why people hate them, that's all.

2. MK ****** will always be ahead of the game on that front. lol

I follow Rugby quite a bit, I always watch the Tigers when they're on and I go to a few matches but i'll never like it as much as football. Fair enough if you don't follow Rugby but these people who want Tigers to lose are just twats, support Leicester ffs.

If your not into Rugby (or any sport for that matter).

Its gonna be hard to have any passion towards the Tigers or any other sports team.

Not exactly a hard concept to grasp.

Not on about the people who don't care, on about the people who WANT Tigers to lose, there are a lot of people like this.

People getting their knickers in a twist about fans wearing Tigers tops at the Walkers... err... what?!

Maybe they just support Leicester. The city. Maybe they can't afford both tops but want to demonstrate their support of the region. What's the problem? I'd wear an England football shirt to an England rugby game. I might get some losers getting on their high horse but it'd be my way of expressing my support for the country... same applies to Tigers/Leicester.

I guess I'm just surprised at how much it seems to mean to people, how angry they get by it... Odd.

same reason as I do on the streets to those in Forest shirts. There a rival club, I hate them.

They play a different fucking sport. lol

TIGERS

Tbh I couldnt give a shit about them or rugby lol

I dont see the problem with them wearing tigers shirts to LCFC tbh.

But it's strange to see them at the Way, on a day when Tigers are at home too..
