Koke Posted 6 April 2009 Posted 6 April 2009 Leicester City boss Nigel Pearson insists his side are not panicking despite their recent slump in form. The League One leaders have won only one of their last five games, picking up just five points in the process But Pearson told BBC Radio Leicester: "We have to keep our patience and our nerve and that's something we will do. "Yes it's getting tighter but I would still rather be us than anybody else. We go into the final five games in a very positive mindset." Saturday's 2-2 draw against Carlisle saw second-placed Peterborough narrow the gap to two points - although the Foxes are still seven points clear of Millwall in third place. And Pearson says it is points on the board that count. "We are very upbeat - it is disappointing to drop two points in the final few seconds of a game but we move on," he said. "Teams around us won but we are still in a great position. "We played quite well but it didn't quite break for us and we did enough to win the game. "We have to make sure we do our side of the bargain to win the championship, but more importantly to get promoted." Anyone remember two seasons ago when Plymouth got a last second equalizer and made it 2-2, and then it was just downhill after that. And meanwhile, he has also extended Stockdale's loan till the end of the season. I hope to God Stockdale plays against Hereford. Warner gives me heart attacks. Leicester City have extended Fulham goalkeeper David Stockdale's loan contract until the end of the season. The 23-year-old was initially signed on a one-month deal to act as cover for Mark Bunn, who was recalled by parent club Blackburn Rovers in March. Stockdale played two games against Cheltenham but was injured in his third match against Tranmere Rovers. He has since lost his place to Tony Warner but has agreed to stay with the Foxes until the end of the campaign. Source: the BBC
maddog Posted 6 April 2009 Posted 6 April 2009 We will be panicking come Saturday evening. The only reason we are not now is because we were so so lucky Millwall lost at home to Colchester, But if Millwall and P'Boro win Friday, i can't really see us winning Saturday under pressure.

In a season if you average 2 points a game you'll be around promotion and 1 point and you'll be around relegation. Why oh why do so many people look at our "plight" at the top of the table so negatively???? Millwall lost .... yes OTHER TEAMS CAN LOSE TOO ...... we seem to think that we have been lucky if someone else loses the odd game and that we are destined to lose every game ourselves. The whole "if everyone wins and we lose" mentality is really starting to annoy me now .... yes if everyone wins always and we lose always we'll be doomed .... but the world isn't like that in reality. Just chill .... we'll win, lose and draw in the last 5 games and I guarantee everyone else will too .... we have 7 more points than them so they need a miracle to displace us. That's promotion sorted, icing on the cake and championship .... we're 2 points clear and peterborough and millwall play each other at the weekend - even the biggest pessimist can't have them both winning that game!!
Manwell Pablo Posted 6 April 2009 Posted 6 April 2009 Not a fan of Stockdale. Ii'm not really a fan of any of the keepers we've had this season, which is impressive seeing as we've had about 32.

Corky Posted 6 April 2009 Posted 6 April 2009 not even bunny? What a guy. Made Bristol Rovers even more enjoyable.

Haven't you not liked pretty much every keeper we've ever had? Not that any we've had lately have been any good bar Fulop, but I seem to remember you rinsing Hendo quite regularly at one time as well and not liking Logan (fair enough) either. Of course this could all be a figment of my imagination.

Then you can't have watched Bunny's games. No one could have failed to have noticed his capability coupled with his team mentality - by far the best keeper to have played for us over recent history.
