Scow Posted 2 May 2005 Posted 2 May 2005 I agree with Matt Jansen...but there are many ludicrous suggestions in this thread IMO. Koumas, you're having a laugh! We're not in that league anymore/yet! He's much too high profile, expensive, and why would he ever come to us in our state? Probably a Prem team would pick him up...Some alternative suggestions: Quincy, Hoyte, Karbassiyoon and/or the Swedish midfield youngster from Arsenal (on loan maybe) Alexis Nicholas or Sebastian Kneissl from Chelsea could prove useful Calum Davenport on loan if Tottenham would let him go Scott Dobie from WBA Morrison/Blake from Birmingham (whoever doesn't get playing time), although they could be expensive and also demand quite high salaries Jamal Campbell-Ryce from Charlton Fuller on loan from Pompey ? Ugarte, Boyd, Parkin, Chopra, Hayter and Abbott from League One seem decent and affordable too... 101412 Scott Dobie is at Forest - And he's not very good.
Leicesterboi Posted 2 May 2005 Posted 2 May 2005 i dont think that we should bring in may more players from the scottish leagues as there is too muxh of a gap in quality and we will then be finding ourselves with a team who might be able to challenge for 3rd or 4th place......in the scotthish leagues.... this meanin maybe midtable in the championship. I suggest Sam Parkin of swindon he is banging in the goals and would link well with connolly as he cna be a target man as he is 6"2:D And maybe stump up some cash for hull superstar Stuart Elliot. Another suggestion is Leroy Lita if we could find half a million or maybe a million raised by offloading the dead wood at the club then maybe we could afford the quality needed to get out of this division.

Ric Flair Posted 3 May 2005 Posted 3 May 2005 Been thinking about this and here is a few names into the mix:Defenders: Gary Naysmith - Everton want to ship him out but I think he is a good left-back Wingers: Kris Commons - Agreement with everybody else. Fantastic ability with the ball Jobi McAnuff - asset stripping from Cardiff Darren Ambrose - Maybe too expensive but would be fantastic Midfielders Richard Langley - asset stripping again from Cardiff Paul Murray - Decent combative midfielder with England B cap, playing in Portugal Forwards Ian Maclean - Sheff. Wednesday. A decent forward Jason Euell - Charlton looking to unload players. Would do a good job for us Francis Jeffers - Needs a run in the first-team and bit of faith Matt Jansen - Maybe wouldn't link up so well with Connolly Michael Chopra - Contract up in summer, did well at Barnsley 101156 Good list there dude. Naysmith will be linked to us I guarantee, he was an ex hearts boy and was only sold because they desperately needed the cash. I read somewhere that Levein loves him and I could see a Naysmith/Maybury partnership on the flanks, that would be class. Jeffers would be a class signing, it's his wages that would be the problem. Sttumping up a million quid might not be out of the question as Levein will want quality not quantity like Adams did, but put £10-15k a week wages on top of that and your getting silly. Also Levein won't dabble in any loan moves unless they lead to permanent moves as he doesn't like training players up only to let them go back again. There' so many players out there who we should sign, but i'll leave it to Levein as i've gave so many targets throughout the year and I forget which ones i've said. The one player who I desperately want us to sign is Richie Partridge, he's essential.
lcfc true blue josh 18 Posted 3 May 2005 Posted 3 May 2005 Koumas (WBA) , Forster (Reading), Juan Ugarte (Wrexham) and Stuart Taylor (Arsenal).Definately no Forest players. Not even Commons, he is just a decent player in a crap team. 101143 lee trundle, maybe ade akinfenwa

Nationwider Posted 4 May 2005 Posted 4 May 2005 Boyd? aint he playing in scottish league? and who is Kazim Richards? 101129 Adam Boyd from Hartlepool Colin Kazim-Richards plays for Bury, we had him on trial a few months ago. Hopefully something will come of it in the Summer because he's got a great future ahead of him. 101130 I think there is a possibility of this happening. I'm not one to be cryptic, but let's just say I've heard something from someone. Does anyone know when he was on trial? Was it under Adams or Levein?
Ric Flair Posted 5 May 2005 Posted 5 May 2005 Since he came on trial with us he's started to get in to Bury's first team more often and has scored a fair few goals for them. They are raving about him and with their debts we'd easily get him for alot less than Preston paid for Nugent which was £100,000. I'd heard Levein was impressed with him and his displays for Bury recently must of made him take note.
Collymore Posted 5 May 2005 Posted 5 May 2005 Paul Parry - cardiff always like the guy since we played hererford in the fa cup and caused us all sorts of problems. Kennedy Bakircioglu mouth watering
Ric Flair Posted 5 May 2005 Posted 5 May 2005 Young Shakers trio hit the heightsIT has to augur well for the future at Gigg Lane when three 19-year-olds have played such a big part in the Shakers' encouraging end of season run. Tom Kennedy, Simon Whaley and Colin Kazim-Richards have been forced into action on more occasions than manager Graham Barrow probably would have liked, but as a frustrating campaign ends on a high, all three have come through with flying colours. The financial crisis that hit the club midway through the season has resulted in it fielding one of the youngest teams in its history. Saturday's line-up was a good example, with the starting eleven boasting an average age of 23 years - and that includes 31-year-old Dave Flitcroft and 29-year-old Dave Challinor who are hardly in the geriatric class! Local lad Kennedy plays in the same left back position as his father, Keith, the former Shakers' favourite of the 1970s and 1980s, and he looks like being just as reliable as his dad who played more than 400 games for the Shakers. He clocked up his 50th appearance of the season during the 2-1 victory at Wycombe on Saturday and showed all his versatility by playing a blinder in an unaccustomed sweeper role. "There is at least a Championship player in Tom," said Barrow. "He did a great job in the sweeper's role on Saturday and his challenge on Steve Claridge late in the game was the tackle of the century. "When he is under pressure he always responds and he has done superbly in the past few weeks." Meanwhile, Bolton-born midfielder Whaley, who scored the vital equaliser at the weekend, has come on in leaps and bounds and is looking every inch a first team player, despite starting only 22 games for the Shakers. His adaptability has been invaluable too, as he is equally at home in a number of positions, up and down the right flank or a more centralised midfield role. "Simon has come on really well and will benefit from the games he has got under his belt this season," added Barrow. "He has been utilised in a number of positions this year and does a great job for us." As for Colin Kazim-Richards, he probably put in his most impressive performance to date on Saturday. Playing a lone striking role the 'baby' of the trio - he is still a third year scholar - used all his strength and ability to lead the line like a veteran, and with a bit more luck could have added to the two goals he has to his name from his recent seven starts. With Kennedy already signed up for next season, Barrow is keen to secure the services of Whaley and Kazim-Richards, although Championship side Leicester City are believed to be interested in taking the latter to the Walker Stadium. "Colin was absolutely fantastic up front on Saturday," said Barrow. "He has all the ability in the world and we'd love to sign him up for next season. "We need to sit down with him and his advisors and see what we can do. "If he does leave we'd have a strong case for some considerable compensation. "But hopefully he will be with us next year, he only has to look at what happened to Dave Nugent this season to see what can happen." Barrow reckons some of his squad members should put pen to paper on new deals in the coming week as he begins building for next season. He is currently running the rule over young Sheffield United striker Jake Speight (19) who is likely to be released by the Bramall Lane club in the summer. "He looks to have a lot going for him and is definitely worth a good look at," he said.

Seems skillful and physically very strong for his age.
