Fosse Boy Posted 10 April 2009 Posted 10 April 2009 It's sad to say this, but I seriously can't see there being much mutual respect on Monday. I've got the awful feeling that it's going to be an absolute parade of twats hurling racist and death songs back and forth across the segregation. It's just going to be up to the majority on both sides to take a stance against it and make sure that we have a good, loud atmosphere and a cracking game.
lou Posted 10 April 2009 Posted 10 April 2009 Everytime I thought of something to say on this subject I read down and someone else had said it (Usually Daggers!) and probably said it far more elequently than I could Basically both chanting about death and race are disgusting and have no place in football. All clubs have morons but its down to the decent fans to let them know were not prepared to put up with this bahaviour by either reporting it or telling them to stop it (in no uncertain terms) we shouldnt leave it to the stewards at all. This is OUR CLUB and I for one will not stand around and do nothing while people around me bring it into disrepute. Comparing the offensiveness of each club's behaviour is ridiculous..... both examples are totally unacceptable. I for one will be paying my respects for Derek AND the 2 Leeds fans during the minutes silence, should it take place.
Daggers Posted 10 April 2009 Posted 10 April 2009 ... should it take place. That's the best bit - there is still no confirmation from the club that it will.
Tommeh Posted 10 April 2009 Posted 10 April 2009 At the end of the day - You and Pool sing about Munich, United sing about Hillsborough and many other clubs i.e. Millwall this season will make Turkish jibes. You all give it out and yet none can take it. If prompted by racist chants on Monday from your lot then yes, some to your left will bring up Turkey it's inevitable. I don;t condone it and would never sing it, but can defenalty see it happening, especailly with the close proximity of the away fans and L1.
davieG Posted 10 April 2009 Posted 10 April 2009 That's the best bit - there is still no confirmation from the club that it will. Or that it actually happened They're quite happy to use up editorial on some new toilet cleaners we've hired but someone who's been fan for longer than a lot of them have lived - zilch. They maybe able to justify not having a minutes silence or applause but to fail to report and offer public condolences seems pretty crass and insensitive to me and I'm not really one for the current fad of public mourning.

Bang on brother! Can we have a sweepstake on what minute the 'town full of pakis' is first sung?
Ford Super Sunday Posted 10 April 2009 Author Posted 10 April 2009 Anyone who chants about Turkey is a cockend Anyone who chants about Leicester's culture is a cockend Anyone who 'empties their change' is the biggest cockend of them all... GBH, ABH, Manslaughter... all potentials for doing something as stupid as that. I hope to high heaven that the police will be out in force, and not just at the bottom of the stand, right between the away and home fans. Anyone who throws coins deserves at least a year in prison. As for the silence, I expect it to be disrupted, but I will ignore it, and continue to pay my respect t a fabulous and loyal football supported... becuase fans like Derek are a million times the person pricks who disrupt minutes silences are. Oh and as has been pointed out, the staggering hypocrisy from football fans (not just leeds, but liverpool and man utd) at 'respect us please' but they then go and spout chants about deaths of fans and the culture of cities is disgraceful.
davieG Posted 10 April 2009 Posted 10 April 2009 Preaching to the converted comes to mind with this thread, the mindless people that join in with these verbal assaults / insults are unlikely to be those posting on this forum at least that is my hope!
maddog Posted 10 April 2009 Posted 10 April 2009 The stewards are instructed to throw out anyone mentioning or making reference to Turkey. Even if fans are discussing their holiday last week in Turkey Or their Easter turkey the day before, or is that just Christmas
Ultra Posted 10 April 2009 Posted 10 April 2009 Waccoe's response to my post on Munich It meant that for the past 50+ years the media have sucked up to them [Manyoo], their fans who weren't even a sperm and an egg in 58 profess how sad it all was when all they're doing is jumping on the putrid bandwagon. And worst of all it allowed the repulsive club to feast on their deaths, to suck every bit of blood out of those who died and set themselves up to be something different when in reality they're the scum of all scum. They evne maneged to hoodwick Leicester retards into thinking it was something to do with them. MUFC are the biggest organised con merchants around, and by playing on those deaths for an eternity continually show themselves up for the blood sucking leeches they are. So there you have it. Once again the main mouthpiece for Leeds fans demands total respect for their own dead, yet can't bring themselves to show one iota for anyone else's. [edited in case Ken Bates gets wind of this...]
Guest Bilo Posted 10 April 2009 Posted 10 April 2009 Waccoe's response to my post on MunichSo there you have it. Once again Leeds demand total respect for their own dead, yet can't bring themselves to show one iota for anyone else's. So in the World of WACCOE showing respect for the passing of fellow human beings, even if they do happen to be affiliated to a rival club, makes one a retard. If that's the definition of a retard, I've never been more proud of my username.
awaydayblue Posted 10 April 2009 Posted 10 April 2009 first of all this topic is pretty pointless. but secondly, i really doubt leeds would disrespect it. If they do though all hell would break loose at the walkers. Literally, it would not go down well at all with our fans. That is why i doubt there will be one tbh

That's one post by one person - it's neither representative of the club's opinions or of the majority of the other fans of Leeds; no more than Ash17****head is representative of the human race. "Leeds" didn't "demand" respect. "They" haven't refused to give it. You are being sensationalist again for your own ends.

It's been viewed several hundred times, yet not one Leeds fan has seen fit to dissociate themselves from it. The lack of reaction by any moderators is also telling. It's unfortunate that the Leeds fans on this thread aren't as vigilant on their own forums.

But then the Waccoe forum is just one forum and by reputation will attract a certain type of fan just like we attract a certain type. Whatever the views of a particular forum they don't represent what I would suggest is the majority of fans.

Waccoe is not representative of Leeds fans as a whole and Waccoe is run along much freer lines than this forum avoiding censorship wherever possible...somewhere where you could easily get away with accusing decent people of being the equivalent of the IRA. It's unfortunate that you still have not seen fit to apologise to Singh. Shit! Have you even read any of the other Leeds forums to have made your final statement. Really, sort yourself out first, eh?!

Edmund Posted 10 April 2009 Posted 10 April 2009 Slightly off topic but am I right in remembering Izzet got a barrage of abuse from Everton fans after the incidents in Turkey? Back on topic I hope both sets of fans can just respect each other as we are both in mourning. Maybe a minutes clapping would be better as this would drown out the idiots. Think they did this recently at The Brum City Vs Wolves game at fear of Wolves fans disrupting the silence.

Yeah he did....... a lot of throat slashing gestures I recall. It was hidious.
Matt Posted 10 April 2009 Posted 10 April 2009 Also, and this is something against Leicester, A minority of twats I must say but wasn't Tugay from Blackburn given some Turkish abuse from some of our fans a while back?
MPH Posted 10 April 2009 Posted 10 April 2009 Waccoe's response to my post on MunichSo there you have it. Once again Leeds demand total respect for their own dead, yet can't bring themselves to show one iota for anyone else's. if you are going to judge all leeds fan by this post, then why would it be wrong of them to judge all leicester fans by any Turkey chants? Please think before you post.
MPH Posted 10 April 2009 Posted 10 April 2009 Perhaps if any minutes silence was organised as a joint minutes silence... From Leicester's point of view to remember poor Derek and from Leed's point of view to remember those 2 poor lads who's live's were ended far too quickly. I know its been talked about unofficially.... but to make it somthing that is accouned as a joint silence. Only a bellend would break the silence then. Sebastian? behave!
