I'd disagree with people talkin about 'the type of fan'-I'm a WACCOER, proud of it. I'm also a member of Amnesty International, Liberty, Lib Dems, Leeds against racism (when it was running) etc etc etc.

We as leeds fans have our share of morons, as do all clubs, maybe us more than most. What has riled most of the WACCOERs as far as i can see though, is the condemning of them out of hand by posters of this board as mindless racist thugs. A large number of us refuse to join in the munich chanting as it's wrong and disgusting, and try and stamp it out where we can.

We may not follow all silences, I'll freely admit that. Personally, i saw no reason why we were made to have a silence for George Best a few years back. Never played for leeds or for milwall, yet revered as a national icon. Did Bremner get one? no. Did Charles get one? no. Will Jack Charlton, Eddie Gray & Peter Lorimer get one? no.

But will Bobby Charlton get one? you bet he will. The media is in love with Manure, holding them up as the paragon of virtue for all other clubs to follow. This was highlighted in the extreme when the mail voted Old Trafford as the 'best sporting atmosphere' in an article a few months back, despite the fact it's a morgue and ER half full on a bad day makes more noise.

At the end of the day, there's a fine line. A lot of the chants leeds fans have a history of making were, and are, unacceptabe. A good number of us work to try and stop them by singing louder than they can, and in greater numbers. But equally the 'disgusting' abuse peterborough fand complained of was just us singing 'you're dad's a c**t and so are you' to their manager-someting a large number of fans would agree with.

I accept we often don't help ourselves, but I'm confident that leeds united have turned the corner as a fanbase. We'll observe the minutes silence perfectly, don't worry.

If there's going to be a minute's silence, I'm sure it'll be one related to Hillsborough too. Pretty certain that I heard all football grounds around the country this weekend would hold a minute's silence for the 96.

Does seem a bit farfetched that we'd be holding a minute's silence for 99 people if we added Derek, Chris and Kevin to the occassion.

The Leeds fan above makes a fair point. Where do you draw the line with regards to holding minutes silences/applauses? Who deserves one, who doesn't?

Condemn by your own words, so out of sheer childish jealousy you feel it's ok to disrupt a minutes silence, I really don't see how whoever it was for whether it was George Best or some unknown football administrator it's just inexcusable.

As for our views of waccoe they're based on the nasty, derogatory, racists posts that are allowed to sit proudly on the site by the majority of the Waccoe members.

If you have to sing about Racism, Turkey, Munich or Hillsbrough then you are a very, very sad person. Why cant fans go to the game for the right reasons these days? Always looking for trouble. Your a fucking moron if you do it that being if you are a Leicester fan or a Leeds fan.

Ow and I totally agree with what someone said previous about George Best getting a minutes silence, being honest here I think George Best was a cunt, never liked him after he left Soccer Saturday.

It may be the case that not all of the ex-players get a mark of recogniton (minutes silence/minutes applause) in a game after they die but that doesn't give you the right to disrupt memorials for players that do

Posted
If it goes ahead it should be a minute's applause and maybe make a point of having a joint tribute to the two Leeds fans as well, that way both fans can pay respects to their respective dead.

This debate could go on for 55 more pages and the same things would be said over and over. I don't think any of the Leeds boys coming on here would condone their 'minority' spoiling for a fight and certainly no-one on here would condone any of ours doing the same. We all agree that the fans that sing the Turkey, Paki etc chants are scum but the fact is that there will be one or two who kick off no matter what anyone says and at the end of the game both sets of fans will tar the majority of the others with the same brush.

Both clubs have ignorant tossers who lack manners, respect or common sense. Whatever the other rights and wrongs, we all owe it to ourselves to single them out and have them removed, then the rest of us can get on with enjoying the game we've been looking forward to for the best part of 8 months.

Could'nt agree more, and very well put :appl:

I really do hope that if the club do decide to hold a minutes silence they only way it will be observed is if birch mentions our own Derek and also Chris and kev the leeds fans who died in turkey 9 years ago, if he does this i believe everyone inside the ground will be united.........

For at least 60 seconds anyway :scarf:

no, not condemned out my own mouth. If you were told you had to have a minute's silence for an Aberdeen player, you'd think it was wrong. I object to my club being forced to have a minutes silence for a player of our biggest rivals, in a game we're not playing against them, when they have a history of disrupting our silences.

...am i the only one who thinks there won't be a minute's silence anyway? i mean the family would hardly want to run the possibility of it being disrupted, especially on tv - and they might not even want the attention. and let's face it - other than those of us on internet forums, most leicester fans might not even know that someone died last saturday. :dunno:

Did any our fans bring a Turkish flag ? I remember them being out when Izzet played for us but never after he left.

Its not gonna be pretty and everyone knows its.

Waccoe's attitude towards Munich remains ambivalent at best, as I highlighted in a previous post.

As a World Cup winner, and a successful manager, I'm sure Jack Charlton will be suitably honoured.

But will Bobby Charlton get one? you bet he will. The media is in love with Manure, holding them up as the paragon of virtue for all other clubs to follow. As a World and European Cup winner, who won over 100 England caps, Bobby Charlton deserves respect, whatever club he played for.

For that, and the fact he would take corners with either foot - now that is class!

Did anyone see the beginning of Match of the Day and the minutes silence for the Hillsborough victims? It was impeccable, you could hear a pin drop. Why can't all these marks of respect be like this?

A minute's silence for a player who has never had an impact on anyone, fair enough, but internationally renowned players? Players who made a significant contribution to football as a whole and not just one team?

It's all about respect, something you clearly don't have and cannot comprehend.

seeing as we're pointing the finger and the cvntish element of the Leeds fans I have a question for my fellow Leicester fans but 1st let me set the scene.

we are away to Chelsea and the poison Dwarf has died and they are having a minuets silence, do you not think that a fairly large minority of our "fans" would disrupt it? I honestly don't know the answer seeing how hated he is by our fans

I would keep silent, but inwardly smile.

Make that three of us that are hellbound then.

Stay out of the ground until the silence has ended, then take our seats afterwards.

No problem with Chelsea honouring the little sh!t, but that doesn't mean we'd have to join in.
