Ford Super Sunday Posted 6 April 2009 Posted 6 April 2009 Problem is, when you have a bunch of c*nting scum coming up to your place before that game, what are you going to do? The Leeds fans of course have short memories, it was only 9 years ago they were mourning the loss of 2 of their own, 9 years later and they will come up and disrupt ours. I agree applause isnt particularly right, but i wouldnt be surprised if the club went for it. I mean jesus, did anyone see the minutes silences last week at the Under 21 and the England games for the Ivory Coast stadium lossews, both were disrupted, how do you think Leeds fans will be, if england fans can't shut their fooking mouths
weluv Posted 9 April 2009 Posted 9 April 2009 with the death of one of your fans in this last week there has, quite rightly, been a lot of talk about 'respect'-of people's memories, of minutes silences. All things worthy of respect. Equally, I'd like to ask that you also respect us on monday. This week has marked the 9th anniversary of the death of Chris Loftus & Kevin Speight, a wound still felt very keenly by many leeds fans, myself included. Please respect their memories, as we respect your fans, by not bringing turkish flags to the game, by not chanting 'istanbul' at us, and by not making throat-slitting gestures at our fans. Thankyou

Thankyou I'm sure everyone on this board would do nothing of that sort, we're not Millwall. There's been talk for years about how Leicester fans made Turkey remarks to Leeds fans, and Leeds fans have never forgotten it. Everytime I've been on WACCOE they mention it in Leicester threads. They seem to forget the racist chanting they had started before then. I'm sure if there's no reference to the ethnicity of our town, they'll be no Turkey chanting. I hope the Leeds fans do respect a minute's silence, if there is indeed one.
Craig Posted 9 April 2009 Posted 9 April 2009 I can only apologise for the morons that have done this before, just like i'm sure you'd say with regards to the racist chanting. I'm sure should your lot respect our minutes silence, we'll respect your loss too. (Not that the majority wouldn't anyway.) We're all football fans afterall.
Guest Bilo Posted 9 April 2009 Posted 9 April 2009 I'd like to think that there won't be any chants about Turkey going on, but if racist chants are heard from the Leeds end, there may well be some of our own who will respond in kind unfortunately. I sincerely hope that neither is the case though and that respect is mutual throughout.

Agreed, sorry but Leeds give it out and when they get it back they start a riot or something. I don't think any Leicester fan would ever Chant or bring a Turkey flag to the game anyway. We're fighting to go up, so we should be focusing on giving our team 100 % backing. The 2 lads who died in Turkey derserve the respect and i'm sure that it will be shown on monday.
Thracian Posted 9 April 2009 Posted 9 April 2009 If football fans can't forget rivalry for a few minutes and show proper respect to their own it's a poor do.
lcfc81 Posted 9 April 2009 Posted 9 April 2009 I really really hope there is no turkey chants, regardless of what anyone says to anyone. Mocking the deaths of two people (or racism) is as low as it gets imo. There is no justification for it no matter what, provoked or not. Its prob. one of the few things that would make me ashamed of LCFC and I wouldn't say that lightly.

Thankyou I'm sure most, if not all posters on this board will be happy to comply with these requests. Equally, we would hope that Leeds fans would show some humanity and respect in not singing songs about the Munich air crash, an event which had adverse consequences for the whole of English football, not just Manchester United. Mocking the deaths of others at games is never acceptable. It's a shame that despite the events of 2000, some Leeds fans (as shown by posts on Waccoe) still haven't learnt the lesson.

Thankyou Death is a timely reminder that "point-scoring" and football take a back seat: These issues point out that allegiances to tribes are superfluous and that life is the only important thing - how we live and how we die is marked by the footprint we leave behind. This footprint is dictated by the humour and empathy with which we approach the ticking of life's clock. Tit for tat "we'll respect you if you respect us" is bollocks, you are frigging individuals - you have your own mind. If you can't exercise a modicum of decency regardless of provocation then you need to question yourselves.

Unfortunately there are enough dickheads supporting both our own club and Leeds to sour the air with such vile chants. I would question whether such morons do have their own mind to be honest. I'd love to think that the game will pass with nothing more than harmless banter, but I fear the worst.
Ultra Posted 9 April 2009 Posted 9 April 2009 The Waccoe thread on this is quite revealing. They have the nerve to call us "condascending"...

davieG Posted 10 April 2009 Posted 10 April 2009 The problem will be that, if we have a minutes silence a very large proportion of fans wont even know who it's for. It's had very little publicity, a small article in the Merc and who reads that anyway and nothing that I'm aware of from LCFC. Many will not even be aware of the tragic incident as it happened last Saturday. Likewise few Leeds fans will have any notion of it. So unless they've been on the net they will have no knowledge of it. Unfortunately black armbands and minute silences have been overplayed for people that the average club football fan has never heard of and non related football memorials. The chances are also high that any announcement on this will be drowned out by what I would imagine to be a noisy pre-match atmosphere as happened at the Sunderland game. Of course any minutes silence deserves respect but many fans have no interest in the many announcements made before KO so I have my doubts that if we do have one it will happen without incident. You can guarantee that even the slightest rasied voice will generate a response. I think that any tribute should be a minutes applause and hope that Derek's family would be happy with that. After all 60 years attendance deserves applause.

Thankyou Cheeky Bleeder!! Have a word with you're own morons regarding the "Munich" gloating that (some) Leeds fans are obsessed with!! "People in glass houses................" Being accused of racist/offensive chanting by a Leeds fan is like having your weight mocked by Rick Waller!!
leedsunited Posted 10 April 2009 Posted 10 April 2009 ok lads im a leeds fan and will be there on monday. most off out fans will respect your minute silence but after that we will not shut up!
Uncle Albert Posted 10 April 2009 Posted 10 April 2009 Waccoe is full of arseholes, 'if any of them start saying stuff about Istanbul then I will empty my change on them and so will others'. Most Leeds fans are complete Arseholes. I can see some people disrespecting and this will set the tone for the match aswell, if some of them disrespected it then I can see alot of chants being aimed towards each other. Not good.

Uncle Albert Posted 10 April 2009 Posted 10 April 2009 Which would make loads of our fans aresholes too, then. Very true, any fan who has to resort to chanting about another teams tragedies has no right to attend a football match, thats what I think.

Vestan Pance Posted 10 April 2009 Posted 10 April 2009 I think the idiots who wrote stuff about Leeds fans maybe disrupting a minutes silence that hadn't even been announced need to have a word with themselves, as does the idiot who started this thread. We are all football fans, show some respect, I'm sure 99% of both sets of fans will.
