Is this the Breast Cancer one? Not that it matters of course. Yeah definately I'll do the morning one then. Sorted! Anyone else that fancies joining me is more than welcome.

That's the one. Only ever done it once before. I think they have changed the route, which is good as there is a stupid hill after about 1k and it did me in!

I assume we need to meet up and discuss this over a pint. Are we all going to Sarfend?

Can't go. I'm back in Leicester this weekend.

Atmos train?

Nah. There's a direct Virgin Train from London to Crewe that takes 1hr30mins. I can get 40% off this for me and 3 others. Unfortunately the one weekend I'll ever want to go to Crewe happens to be the weekend that Virgin Trains are doing engineering work on that line.

Would it be possible to have Strongbow on the little tables at the side of the course rather than water?

Just seen this. When I did the marathon last year, there was a water station at about 15 miles, I think, and there was a group of lads watching just before it with a few crates of lager. As I was about to run past them, I put my hand out, like you do when you go past the water station. They laughed, and called me cheeky. lol

I think you had to be there

Walk it then. People do. It's a fantastic course as well in terms of scenery, all around the Great Park.

I can walk if I dose myself up with painkillers, it's not a problem...I hope.

Try the Race for Life 5k (half marathon is 21k). These are taking place from May - August time all over the country, and will give you an idea of what kind of atmosphere to expect. You can run, jog or walk the course, and there are always more walkers than runners taking part.

:)

I was actually thinking of doing this before the ME thing was diagnosed funnily enough. I did the Sport Relief race thing last year and half ran half walked - I'm not the fittest :giggle:

I'm having a bit of trouble putting the entry payment through on my card but I'm on the case and it should be sorted by the end of today

Just printing out my form to send off in the morning to enter as it still won't allow me to do it online. Do we put that we're entering as a team or just as individuals? Also, are we gonna get some FT T-shirts or something done?

Posted

I say we enter as individuals. It would be great if we all run it in a Leicester Shirt.

Maybe we can fit in some chants in the early stages? lol

Whilst I've still got some breath left and at least vaguely keeping up with you lot that sounds like a plan :D

I think i'll register tonight.

Think we all need to buy some quality retro Leicester shirts to run in!

Are we going to decide on a single charity or our own? As i've said earlier i'd really like to run for a Transverse Mylitis charity,
