Foxestalk Windsor Half Marathon Bonanza

Following on from the discussion in 'Running and Stuff' I thought I would start a thread for this.

If there is consensus to enter an alternative race then that's fine with me. If you don't know, a half marathon is 13.1 miles and if you're not a runner you could expect it to take you between just under 2 hrs and 2 hrs 30 (obviously depending on fitness).

I know that this is well in advance but you have to be with these things otherwise they get booked up! Also it will give you some time to plan training if you are not already a runner.

I suggest we run it in full Leicester kit, and hit the pub afterwards.

I'd do it if someone picks me up and drops me off at Leicester.......and they nay as well run it for me too....

Im thinking the Leicester Half will have to do for us Non-southern based Fters....

Shall we do it as a joint charity run?

Anyone got any suggestions for the charity? On a selfish note I would do the Stroke Association again but happy to go with anything as long as we all agree on it.

I'd like to do something like this. Really don't think I'd manage though, unless I walked it :(

Walk it then. People do. It's a fantastic course as well in terms of scenery, all around the Great Park.

Try the Race for Life 5k (half marathon is 21k). These are taking place from May - August time all over the country, and will give you an idea of what kind of atmosphere to expect. You can run, jog or walk the course, and there are always more walkers than runners taking part.

Id be happy to have a crack at that - no way I could do a half marathon though... I would definately never recover!

Would it be possible to have Strongbow on the little tables at the side of the course rather than water?

So at some point you're gonna be 'breaking the seal' rather than 'hitting the wall' :D

Do it - there are two at the beginning of July at Western Park; one morning and one afternoon, can't remember the date. Do the morning one, as I am thinking of doing the 10k race.

Is this the Breast Cancer one? Not that it matters of course. Yeah definately I'll do the morning one then. Sorted! Anyone else that fancies joining me is more than welcome.
