Mandaric shares Pearsons ambition, but didn't enjoy this season.

I don't think anyone really gives a fcuk whether Milan enjoyed the season or not.

From what I can see; The fans have, the players have, and Pearson has.

Agreed really, as long as he gives all he can to help get us up again next year then i'm happy.

Nothing there that he hasn't said several times already.

I'm not so sure, I certainly have and I know many on here have but alot of people I have actually spoke to have said "Ah I ain't enjoyed this season at all".

League One or not, we've been winning, we've had success, we've had fun, we've had value for money, we've had a laugh, the list goes on, alot of thing we have not had for 5 years+...I swear alot of Leicester fans actually want us to lose and fail just so they can have a good old moan.

Dont think anyone gives a sh*t if he's enjoyed it or not, I have, and so have many many more. If he keeps the ££'s coming im sure we'll all enjoy it next season also

There will be a bigger budget for the Championship than there was last year too.

I do like the sound of that, Although i'll believe it when I see it.

By last year does he mean this season (League One) or last season (Championship)?

Posted

My initial thought was that he meant this season, but on second reading I think he might have meant our last Championship season. Which is impressive because we spent a lot.

I really dislike him. I don't know why, but something about him and his obvious lack of passion for city makes me feel uncomfortable.

"I don't want to watch games in this division, no disrespect to any of the teams in there, but Leicester City do not belong in League One."

Nice one Milan, have you not learned yet that every time you start gobbing off in the media, we seem to lose the next game ?! All the Southend manager needs to do to get his players in the mood for a battle tomorrow is to show them the above quote.

We're currently still in League One, so stop the stupid rhetoric. Completely unnecessary.

To be honest I enjoyed it at first but the novelty of this league has worn off a lot towards the end of teh season the Leeds game was the last one I was really looking forward to - Leicester are too big for this league fact.

Also Milan is showing ambition I can't see much wrong with that. What would you guys want him to say 'oh we're going to tread water in the Championship' i don't want to hear that

He doesn't have to say anything - good Chairmen are seen and not heard.

Yeah, tbh I dont want to imagine Leicester City now without him.

Division 3 is hardly auspicious or an improvement on where we were when he took over. I'll reserve judgement until I see where we end up. Irrespective of that we'd be better off still if he stayed in the background.

It's all about momentum, though Davie. We were a club in complete disarray before he arrived. Had been in a flat spin since MON if we're brutally honest with ourselves. No vision, no direction, no leadership. One farce after another.

Since MM arrived, the club has slowly developed a sense of purpose. Like with any organisation that gets a new top boss, not everything he has done has been good, or comfortable for those involved lower down (including, in this case, the fans). But in an era when it takes big money to keep a football club going, MM has been a better than average source of money for LCFC - we could so easily have been in the mess Southampton are now in, or worse.

Instead, we're now gearing up for a serious challenge in the championship with a team, a manager and a group of supporters who have some self-belief again. We owe MM for that, even if we can't see it clearly yet. I'm bloody grateful he didn't give up on his plan at the end of last season, and I'm prepared to cut him a lot of slack for that, given the combination of relegation and a global recession.

Yes, he can be a bit of an arse when he gives interviews, and it's easy to criticise him for saying he hasn't enjoyed this season. My first thought on reading the thread topic was "he should have come to Hereford last week, then" but of course if he had, he wouldn't have been in the pub with us before the game or standing in the terrace. He'd have been on level terms with club owners and directors in league one who he must consider to be significantly his inferior in a business sense, and I can kind of see why the silver linings of relegation (nice little grounds, terraces, fun away days) wouldn't have cut much ice with him. He wanted to be rubbing shoulders as soon as possible with the people he was taking on as equals when he got Portsmouth into the premiership. Instead, like a giant oil tanker, LCFC was on a collision course with relegation, and MM found he couldn't turn it round quick enough, no matter what he tried.

Now, with the momentum from the promotion campaign, MM obviously can't wait for the next season to begin. He wants us to be challenging for a spot in the premiership and, frankly, so do I. Winning the league one title will be great, but I reckon it's time we had expectations of a cup final or something again. Feels like we've not won the league cup for ages, and that can't be right!

ok , there a lot of unknowns and what ifs , but leicester city are by a long way not the biggest club to sink this low and i genuinely believe that our excellent prospects ( now) of an return to the championship would have been a lot harder ( and maybe a few more years longer ) if MM had not been around .

we could have been saddled with ken bates

I bet most Leeds fans would choose MM over KB

EDIT ; and what leftside said :D

I've listened to the interview and he doesn't actually say last year at all, he says this season. Their just mixin his words

great quote- i'm not sure about him i think we would have been in serious sh#t if he had not took over but some of the things he says & does make you wonder ie the amount of managers he hires & surely the the people that would hire hollowtwat would be a circus who had just lost their clown :giggle:

Well the argument as to whether we would have been better or worse off without him has been done to death and all we can say is that no one really knows,

As for the current situation no one knows where the source of any money is coming from, it could be direct from Mandaric but the educated guess are that it's in the form of loans that being how businesses are generally financed, whether those loans are guaranteed by Mandaric or against the clubs assets (Belvoir Drive etc) again no one knows.

So being in the 1st division with an unknown financial background I'll stick with my reserving judgement. As for next season I don't want to sound pessimistic because i'm not but there's no guarantee we'll be successful even with momentum and if we aren't then surely we'd be back where we started.
