Lillehamring Posted 21 April 2009 Posted 21 April 2009 Harsh on King! i concur... i wouldn't take away what howard has done...but young player award not going to king is a travesty - when did we last have a midfielder who could score goals and what an incredible amount of pressure he had on him, too - also if it wasn't for the bloody welsh he'd have played pretty much every second of this season... perhaps if hobbs had scored a few more i'd have agreed whose awards were they?

Supporters' Club, I assume.
Corky Posted 21 April 2009 Posted 21 April 2009 Howard - Player of The YearHobbs - Young Player Maxi Gradel vs MK Dons - Goal Can't argue with two of them. Kingy I thought would win Young Player, but well done to Hobbsy in any case
Jon the Hat Posted 21 April 2009 Posted 21 April 2009 King has a contract. Hobbs we want to sign a contract. Sensible to give him the award. I know it doesn't work like that, but if it gives him a good feeling when he has the offer in front of him then great.
ACF Posted 21 April 2009 Posted 21 April 2009 Why is this not on the OS?? Bloody OS updater people..... <_<

EmLeee Posted 21 April 2009 Posted 21 April 2009 You look a better couple than him and his Mrs did.... shes not tall enough for him Ok ... so next time you see him please tell him this
JakeShingler Posted 21 April 2009 Author Posted 21 April 2009 I imagine there will be pictures from this on the OS later?Steeeeeeeeeevvvve Was not there. Also Fryatt got Disabled Supporters poty. And the players went on the town after and eded up in Andy Kings flat
Jon the Hat Posted 21 April 2009 Posted 21 April 2009 The manager pics the young player of the year In which case, a very good call by big Nige.
Thracian Posted 21 April 2009 Posted 21 April 2009 Correct.Correct. Have to agree on those three. I'd have Kingy's winner against S****horpe as best. Improvised, outside of the foot curler in a tight match situation....one of the best goals I've ever seen, that. The lad should have had two awards.
Tilley Posted 21 April 2009 Posted 21 April 2009 Andy King should have won young player of the year, I think.
Guest Posted 21 April 2009 Posted 21 April 2009 I can understand people thinking that Kingy should have won young player of the year, but at it's a great indicator that we've had a few young players who have been on top form all season. Let's not forget that Hobbs has been a mainstay of a solid back four this season

Joe. Posted 21 April 2009 Posted 21 April 2009 I'm amazed that god boy didn't win Player of the Year, nice to see Howard recognised. The young player was a very tough call, both Hobbs and King have been brilliant all season.
martyn Posted 21 April 2009 Posted 21 April 2009 Whether it has an impact or not i'm unsure, but giving Hobbs YPOTY could be a great move if we harbour decent ambitions of securing him permanently.
Milky Posted 21 April 2009 Posted 21 April 2009 I'm amazed that god boy didn't win Player of the Year, nice to see Howard recognised. When your 31 goal striker isn't top dog you know it's been a great season.

When your 31 goal striker isn't top dog you know it's been a great season. Yup, I think there were at least 4 or 5 strong candidates this season. Hobbs, Oakley, King, Howard and Fryatt have all had fantastic seasons.

If it's true that the Manager picks the YPOTY, I feel internal politics could have somrthing to do with this award. Nothing like making your first target feel at the heart of the team. Synical view I know, but could be some truth in here. Kingy must of run him close on this one. Securing a contract could have been the deciding factor.
C-man Posted 21 April 2009 Posted 21 April 2009 I would just like to draw everyone's attention to this: Hero. Both Micky Ruddle, and the chap in the middle.
