Ticket Office Problems - Online, phones etc

He's already aware of the situation, and was just about to go and have a look into it.

He's quite a few emails about it. Don't let that fact put you off sending one yourself. The way I see it, the more who email in, the more credence the complaint has.

have done it........... I think its too important not to. I think its an abuse of position... totally unfair on the poor sods who have queued or missed out completely.

I had to leave work early and queue last night for Kieran's and didnt mind at all... I wouldnt have felt comfortable getting favours.

Good for you...... I was gonna pen an email to him. I think its disgusting, I dont mind staff gettin tickets when theres plenty left but not when its a mass scramble like this.

I don't mind staff getting tickets, maybe it's a benefit of the job, but it should be limited to 1 or 2 per person. When you hear that someone has given out 7 and another has got 12, and they aren't even a priority, it makes you wonder why you bother really, putting in time and effort trying to get tickets the fair way.

Pretty much what I said to him....

Hello Peter,

Im sorry to bother you at what must be a busy time.

I felt compelled, however, to email you as I feel very strongly about this matter. Im a Priority 1 season ticket holder as is my Daughter and we attend as many games home and away as we possibly can. It has come to my attention that members of staff from the ticket office at City have been giving tickets away for the above fixture to friends in some numbers and I dont think this is right when there were people queuing outside the ticket office at 7.30am this morning and have been all week I understand trying to secure seats for this fixture ( I myself queued for 30 mins yesterday to secure a ticket for my Son but didnt mind doing that the same as everyone else!) ..... One of my colleagues at work and some of his friends (who never attend matches usually) have been given tickets by a member of staff who works at the ticket office and they also got given tickets for the Peterborough away game (14 of them!) and Southend away... all very difficult games to get tickets for!

While I appreciate staff do a tremendous job at the ticket office and I dont mind perks being given usually but do feel its a bit unfair when there are P2 and P3 season ticket holders I know who couldnt get tickets for some of the above mentioned games and they hear of freebies being given out to all and sundry.

I dont mind tickets being made available to staff, supporters clubs etc when there are plenty of seats available, I would rather see the ground filled than half empty but do find it rather galling, when people are bragging about getting seats for nothing when there are fans who have loyally supported the club for years that cant get any.

Sorry to sound off at you but I am quite angry about this.

Thanks very much and Congratulations to all at the club on this seasons success!

Just got back from the ticket office with Crewe ticket in hand.

Emailed yesterday but heard nothing so decided to join the queue of about 150 people at 8.50am. Just got in the door behind, probably 75-100 people still when my mobile rang - it was the ticket office responding to my email.

She asked where I was and suggested I went around to the office side door as there weren't too many tickets left.

5 minutes later left with ticket in hand, big smile on my face and grateful as to how fortunate I'd been to get a ticket. In fact if I hadn't sent an email yesterday I think I would have missed out.

Felt sorry for those in the queue and all those that can't get in but when it comes to away tickets it seems you have to be ruthless and think of number 1.

I queued for well over an hour this morning, starting at 8:25, for a ticket to the Crewe game and considering I was told there was only about 100 tickets left I thought I wasn't going to get one especially as most folk were asking for anywhere between 6-20 tickets. When I left there was still a massive queue so I felt sorry for these fans because most of them were so close but going to miss out i'd imagine.

Just sent this to Peter Jones...

Let's see if I get a reply.

You'll get a reply.

I rang from my work number and was cut off after approx 20 mins, twice, then i tried again at 1130ish from my mobile and my £4 credit went within about 10 minutes, so i bet they do make money out of it

My reply from Peter Jones...

I am sorry to read about the difficulties but in truth the demand is so high that we are facing challenges handling the volume of calls and the visitors to the stadium.

We are trying to be fair with everyone and followed the priority scheme of allocating tickets.

If you consider I can help I would be pleased to hear from you but tickets have sold out.

Please accept my apologies.

Kind regards

Peter

Standard response no doubt. I fail to see how cutting off phone lines and e-mail requests is fair. Has anyone contacted him in relation to bulk buying?

I phoned him this morning, and raised the concerns that I have been reading on these threads. He'll hate me for saying this, but anyone who is disgruntled about the way ticket sales for this game, and any other of the "popular" fixtures for that matter, send Peter an email, regardless of whether or not you have a ticket.

As for the decision to stop answering phone calls and emails, the club did put this on the OS this morning:

Supporters are advised to secure their seats at the earliest possible opportunity to avoid disappointment as this game is also expected to sell out shortly. Due to the extremely high demand, tickets are now only available to personal callers to the Walkers Stadium Ticket Office.

This should, in my opinion, have been decided/publicised much earlier, but I have no idea when the decision was made.

I called the ticket office 3 times this morning, the first 2 times i got cut off after 20 minutes and the third time i got cut off after 30 minutes.

A pretty pointless statement to make on the day that priorty 3 tickets are released. That just served to enrage me even further.

I have sent another message to PJ...

Hi Peter,

Many thanks for your reply. I would imagine you have had your work cut out this week with this sort of enquiry. Who would have thought a little success on the pitch would bring so many problems off it!!

Please don't get me wrong, I'm not expecting you to magic a couple of tickets out of thin air.

My concern is that I fail to see how cutting off the ability to purchase tickets over the phone and via e-mail is fair. The club must understand that many, many season ticket holders do not live in the direct vicinity of the stadium. Also, work and education commitments dictate that travelling distances during a week day is virtually impossible.

Having spoken to other season ticket holders and via fanbase websites, I understand that we have approximately 900 priority 1 STH's, and 400 priority 2 STH's. If we have been allocated 2,228 tickets, I also find it extremely difficult that the priority scheme has been adhered to. There are alleged reports on certain websites that some fans were purchasing 15-20 tickets at one time!?!

All I want is a fair system. The official LCFC website promotes that it is easy to purchase tickets on-line, by telephone, or e-mail request. None of these services have been operational today for your loyal season ticket holders.

The official site has also advertised Friday's celebrations and a near full house expected for some time. The club, by adopting this approach should also have anticipated higher than usual demand and sought additional staff to help.

That's a good email. Have you included your number with the email, as sometimes he will ring back rather than email?

Yeah. I've always attached my contact details. To be fair to PJ, he has rung me back in the past when we complained about the lack of monthly benefits for STH's.

Fcuk benefits, I just want a ticket to see my team play

To be honest, I think this is where one of the big problem lies....

my dad has a ticket already. my uncles wifes sister lol works at the ticket office and got my uncle seven tickets even though they ain't priority. gave my dad one.aha

As for the fifteen tickets at a time - You can only buy one ticket, with one reference number on prioirty days, and as long as the bloke had 15 prioritys, the ticket office will sell them.

I emailed last night and i didnt read this response until i got home today but it seems like they were going to answer the phones but then must've changed their minds. I wish id have known as i i wasted alot of time on the phone today, i couldnt get to the ground as i was at work in Kettering. Its frustrating that you are penalised when they dont answer the phones, but its difficult if you live out of town to get to the ground:

Thank you for your email.

Due the high volume of personal callers we are unable to accept ticket applications online and via email from 6.00pm on Tuesday 21st. All emails prior to this 6pm cut off will be dealt with.

The ticket office will be open from 9.00am on Wednesday 22nd to personal callers, and the phone lines will be manned at all times.

Thank you for your patience.

Kind Regards

I sent my e-mail to the Ticket office requesting tickets on Saturday morning, just before I went to Southend...

I thought there would be loads of people, and then I though sending it on the day might not help.

I went down this morning, becuase I thought they hadnt processed it... I got a confirmation e-mail about 1:30, saying the tickets were in the post.

Its just the demand... there is usually one person dealing with the Phone and E-mail requests when the ticket office opens... maybe they should put more... but, its a difficult job i suppose

I emailed them late yesterday 5.15ish with my specific requirements and mobile number after having emailed them earlier and getting no response as to whether there were any tickets left at all.

When I saw the emails were read and still got no reply I decided and also as suggested by Bert to get down the ticket office early this morning.

As I described earlier they called me back whilst i was in the queue and I'm convinced I would have missed out.

Incidentally I reckon there was about 170ish in front of me in the queue when I arrived at 8.50am so they must have, along with the email requests snapped up the last 600/700 which I was informed was how many were available to P3 ST holders.

Yeah i know there would be high demand, i shouldve emailed earlier, i did think about emailng last week but ive emailed before and when i didnt hear back from them i rang up and they said they hadnt received my email and i didnt want that to happen this time incase i missed out on tickets. Its hard to know what to do for the best, but at least i managed to get through on the phone on tuesday to get my ticket

Sorry mate - this isn't true.

Someone I know bought three tickets for Bristol Rovers away on one priority just by asking them to bump up the pre-order from one to three.

The rules are not stuck to by all staff.

Its annoying though that i got the woman who sticks to the rules, as she would only give me 3 tickets on tues as i had 3 priority 2 season tickets and the other 2 season tickets were priority 3 and she wouldnt budge and let me have them, and i said can i order 2 for Wednesday and she said they will all be gone. If i got the lad i normally get i dont seem to have any problems, but then i suppose she was right not to allow me them, its just annoying as the other games i havent had a problem with getting them all on priority 2 day.

Haha yeah, it's a right ball ache when people do their job properly!

I know what you are saying though, it is frustrating but we are stuck with the uncertainty until someone comes up with an alternative. It sure as hell beats the queuing up technique of before, I remember me and my Dad queuing up for Wembley tickets in the early 90's - nightmare. I wouldn't want to go back to those days.

The only away tickets I knew I wasn't going to get as a P3er this season were Northampton and I was right. Almost missed out on MK until we got that extra allocation. Im glad I'll be ok for tickets next season when I'll be P1.

Yep, I'm up from P3 to P1 now. I would've been P1 even if I wasn't going to Crewe, but my Dad and Brother wouldn't (I went to Bristol Rovers and they didn't) but now they've reached 13 aways.

It'll be much better to get tickets on the Monday from next season :)
