billyfox1 Posted 22 April 2009 Posted 22 April 2009 You can listen to it here Know Your Enemy http://www.greendayauthority.com/index.php...29&archive= Lights Out (B-side) http://www.greendayauthority.com/index.php...45&archive=
billyfox1 Posted 22 April 2009 Posted 22 April 2009 Know Your Enemy? Is it a RATM cover then? No. Just same title
StanSP Posted 24 April 2009 Posted 24 April 2009 10 minutes to go. Won't see it though because of educational commitments (school). Saw a sneak peek last night. Looks pretty boring. Just singing on a few platforms with CCTV cameras staring down at them. Probably other stuff on the video though. Hopefully.
lifted*fox Posted 25 April 2009 Posted 25 April 2009 Shocking song, shocking video. Greenday have released nothing but bullshit since Dookie & Insomniac came out. Nimrod was, for the best part, absolutely awful & Warning... well I wouldn't wipe my arse with the CD if it was the last available arse-wiping material on the planet. American Idiot? Well... . DIRE. This new album will be, yet again, a reminder that these men in their forties should NOT still be singing about rebellion & revolution. Go home to your families Green Day.
Libertine Posted 25 April 2009 Posted 25 April 2009 Nimrod is brilliant. And they're not in their 40s. So nerrrrr.
lou Posted 25 April 2009 Posted 25 April 2009 Im not a big fan of the more recent stuff........ Dookie was awesome and I think theyve lost a bit with every new album since. I was a big fan from pretty much day 1 but didnt buy the last album.... American Idiot is W**K - Ill stick to the old stuff
lifted*fox Posted 25 April 2009 Posted 25 April 2009 Nimrod is brilliant.And they're not in their 40s. So nerrrrr. He's 37... that's close enough. <_<
lou Posted 25 April 2009 Posted 25 April 2009 He's 37... that's close enough. <_< Hey trust me when you get passed 35 every bloody year matters!

Go home to your families Green Day. well that's obviously a big pile of crap because bands like NOFX, RANCID, THE DESCENDENTS, to name but a few are still releasing massive albums well into their 40's and the mighty BAD RELIGION after 14 studio albums are still able to produce and album as fresh as anything by a band made of people in their 20's. It's not about age it's about the passion and desire and love of the music if they want to do something a bit different then good luck to them. you seem to be a dubstep. Drum and Bass fan I am presuming people like Fabio and Grooverider who do the radio 1 show should be ashamed of themselves and retire with immediate effect now they are in their 40's!! I mean for the love of god what are they doing with themselves playing young peoples music. or others in their 40's like LTJ Bukem or DJ Hype on Kiss 100 I am sure many more are still and important part of that style of music in their 40's You are obviously pretty young I am sure when you hit your mid 30's you will still deep down be the same person, like the same music and still want to do your own mixing and the stuff you do now. your mind doesn't change your body just gets older you will soon start to work that out.

All fair points. I'm 24 & i've had many musical likes & dislikes in my life so far. I'll listen to anything from Phil Collins to Goldie, Strapping Young Lad to Enya, Bloc Party to Christina Aguilera... You get the idea, any genre. I was merely enraged by the inexcusably poor music which Green Day seem to push out these days & didn't quite word my argument properly. You made excellent points when you said that NOFX & Rancid still make good music, but it's NOT as good as the stuff they were making back in the day. You see the thing is... you said PASSION was all important & you were right... it is. But that appears to be something that Green Day are lacking. That new song... it's literally the same riff all the way through. The words are lazy. The whole thing smacks of them trying in desperation to drag their musical career out until it dies a horrible death, just so they can make a few more dollars out of the Green Day loving American Idiot. People of any age can create, play, perform, DJ music to a high level, which can be appreciated by a crowd of an equally diverse age range. But when the passion is gone & the performer(s) / artist(s) / DJ(s) etc. get lazy... that's when it's not ok... Which... by the way, applies to Fabio, Grooverider & Hype, who are all far to comfortable churning out shit in the Jungle scene because they are 'pioneers of the music'. You listen to any Fabio set from 1995 & it's a million times better than anything he cares to string together nowadays. Hope that's explained my feelings on the subject a little better.

Can you blame them. I wish I could make a few million dollars for a bit of lazy song writing.
WardyisPukka Posted 8 May 2009 Posted 8 May 2009 http://www.myspace.com/greendaybrasil found this a full album preview of 21st Century Breakdown -Judge yourselves
Joe. Posted 8 May 2009 Posted 8 May 2009 Yeah, 11 songs in and not too impressed to be honest. I think the Green Day ship left long ago...
ASH17LCFC Posted 8 May 2009 Posted 8 May 2009 These are the biggest sellout band in the history of sellouts. Were decent untill they started to get paid far to much money. Now there a typical american band who i can't stand.
lavrentis Posted 9 May 2009 Posted 9 May 2009 Listening to their new album now, not impressed so far.
Samilktray Posted 10 May 2009 Posted 10 May 2009 Know Your Enemy is horrible. I dont think there that good anyway, few good songs here n there.
Libertine Posted 10 May 2009 Posted 10 May 2009 Bizarre. Pretty much every vocal tune on this record is a ripoff of another song, some their own.
