Matt Posted 30 April 2009 Posted 30 April 2009 Its already stung them for 250 quid, if they wanted have any chance of winning an appeal they would have to get a solicitor involved and it could just end up costing them a fook load more. To be honest if I was them Id probably just let it go. If clubs and the plod are gunna behave like this then they can stick their modern football up their arse, you aint really missing much anyway. I suppose if it happened it happened and I couldn't do much about it but I know i'd struggle like mad not being able to watch Leicester for 2 or 5 years. Again back to the glory fans of the big clubs if this was one of them, I doubt they'd be that bothered - Even though most of their matches are on tv, the thought of them not watching their teams 'live' wouldn't be much of a worry to them that much, put a 'proper' fan in this position and it'd be hell.

If they do actually wanna go they can. The plod have spotters at certain games but its rare and theyll be concentrating on actual hooligans anyway. No point wasting anymore cash just so you can actually go the ticket office yourself.
Fez of Mahrez Posted 30 April 2009 Posted 30 April 2009 I find this sort of thing disgusting and highlights the contempt that football fans are held in. I wonder what those morons off that Southend forum who were complaining about nothing being done about a few of our fans on the pitch celebrating a goal are saying now. Twats. Personally I've never run on the pitch other than with a ****load of other people but I can see how I would if I was pissed up and down the front. Hardly the crime of the century. ****s me off.
maddog Posted 30 April 2009 Posted 30 April 2009 As much as i hate watching Leicester most of time i couldn't stand not being about to go for 5 years. Thats like an entire lifetime
Craig Posted 30 April 2009 Posted 30 April 2009 As much as i hate watching Leicester most of time i couldn't stand not being about to go for 5 years.Thats like an entire lifetime For you, granted.

Frenzied Posted 30 April 2009 Posted 30 April 2009 The saying "the law is an ass" fits perfectly here. It's interesting to think about the kinds of people that make such laws (and there are hundreds of them). It shows the utter contempt that certain groups in this country show for football fans or the type of people that they think football fans are.
Teeno Posted 30 April 2009 Posted 30 April 2009 Our mini-bus driver got nicked, he was wearing an England shirt.I know he was in court in Southend this week, not sure if he was one of the ones who was banned tho (not actually sure of his name TBH!) They kept him in the nick til midnight after the game. and bummed him Spoke to him last night, he got let off with a caution. By the way I was the one who was sick at the petrol station on the way back
Ultra Posted 30 April 2009 Posted 30 April 2009 The fines are fair enough, but the bans are ridiculously OTT. I suspect Essex plod are still smarting at the kicking dished out by the locals that day.
Part Of The Crowd Posted 30 April 2009 Posted 30 April 2009 These lot moreso, they ran on to get at the Burnley fans! Also, we'll add Northampton to the invaders list, weren't there a mini pitch invasion vs Dons where they went after the Dons players? And what about that fan that attacked Mick McCarthy? The referee said he would not be considering reporting any incidents despite him having coins and bottles thrown at him and about 50 Northampton 'fans' all trying to attack our captain. Was disgusting. I believe the only reason they didn't go to the away fans is because there were a fair few of us and they thought one man would be an easier target and therefore more fun
ozleicester Posted 1 May 2009 Posted 1 May 2009 Got worried then as soon as I saw this thread rang my mate. The cops spoke to him before the Scunny match said they knew it was him but because he didnt actually get chucked out then he has probably got away with it.I shall not be doing that again thats for sure The punishment is absolutely absurd and way over the top.. however, the sentence highlighted above explains why they are imposed.
BoneDog Posted 1 May 2009 Posted 1 May 2009 That is very very harsh. One of my favourite sayings now, after that goggles bird on pop idol or whatever it called. "That's very harsh, very, very harsh. Where's ya brain, in ya little toe?" Classic EDIT : X factor. This always cracks me up Very very harsh
BoneDog Posted 1 May 2009 Posted 1 May 2009 It weren't like this in the old days. I ran on the pitch at Watford last day of the season when Muzzy scored in 94 I think and just got escorted out the ground, so I went chippy and came back in the big exit gate at the end and celebrated on the pitch with everyone in front of that row of police dogs they had out. Getting banned is stupid unless you do a flying kick on a player or summat

Was disgusting. There seems to be a general culture of denial at the league about these activities. Northampton's fans aren't the first to misbehave this season and escape scot-free. Millwall have got away with (attempted) murder this season. But they won't be able to cover it up when Leeds come to town in the playoffs.
James. Posted 1 May 2009 Posted 1 May 2009 Millwall have got away with (attempted) murder this season. Really?
