davieG Posted 30 April 2009 Posted 30 April 2009 Who ran on the pitch to celebrate the 2nd goal - I'm sure someone posted that they were 2 City fans who ran onto the pitch at Southend to celebrate City goals have each been fined £250 and been given respectively 3 years and 5 years banning orders from all UK and international grounds.
JakeShingler Posted 30 April 2009 Posted 30 April 2009 No but my mates dad who ran on at Leeds was banned for 3 years.
davieG Posted 30 April 2009 Author Posted 30 April 2009 On that basis I wonder if Wolves will have any fans next year?
1884 Posted 30 April 2009 Posted 30 April 2009 On that basis I wonder if Wolves will have any fans next year? And Southampton <_<
Craig Posted 30 April 2009 Posted 30 April 2009 And Southampton <_< These lot moreso, they ran on to get at the Burnley fans! Also, we'll add Northampton to the invaders list, weren't there a mini pitch invasion vs Dons where they went after the Dons players? And what about that fan that attacked Mick McCarthy?
ousefox Posted 30 April 2009 Posted 30 April 2009 Harsh! The fine is enough but 3 and 5 years not allowed at football!!
Teeno Posted 30 April 2009 Posted 30 April 2009 Someone I know who was arrested after the game for running on the pitch was back in Southend yesterday and got away with a caution.
C-man Posted 30 April 2009 Posted 30 April 2009 Unbelievable punishment. Completely over the top and out of order.
lou Posted 30 April 2009 Posted 30 April 2009 Someone I know says it was one of his mates and they just got chucked back into our crowd so probably wont get banned
Jon the Hat Posted 30 April 2009 Posted 30 April 2009 Seems harsh, but not a surpise is it? And if you take a risk knowing the consequences then you have to accept the punishment.
Koke Posted 30 April 2009 Posted 30 April 2009 This may be a silly and stupid question, but how do the authorities actually prevent a banned person from attending games (away)? A person can just let someone else purchase his/her ticket and blend in with the crowd and stay low-key, they're not gonna pick out the offender from a strong 3.000 Leicester away crowd.

Exactly got a few mates banned if they really want to go games they will but at games like Millwall the police have pictures of all banned people.

Or home games, must be pretty hard to police?
MC Prussian Posted 30 April 2009 Posted 30 April 2009 On that basis I wonder if Wolves will have any fans next year? Ban the whole 28'000 of them? As for the City fans verdict, overly harsh.
General Smuts Posted 30 April 2009 Posted 30 April 2009 Wasn't it the coach driver of the Leicester lads we met in Papillion?
Basingstoke Fox Posted 30 April 2009 Posted 30 April 2009 5 years would be more fair if they were fighting with the other fans, this is ridiculous!
City Fan Posted 30 April 2009 Posted 30 April 2009 If you can't do the time, don't commit the crime. Simple as that really.
