Staying or Not?

Surprised about Lee Cox and Cisak having seen them play a few times for the academy and a couple of seasons ago I thought Rowe Turner was the dogs but our defense is just too strong now for him to stand a chance so I hope he can find a place at another club. Some of these kids have been with us for years so its quite sad to see them not make it. Thats football I guess.

My Sons friend Joe Cobb has been there years and consistantly playing at left back for the reserves/academy but has just been released too after having an injury this last season. Gutted for him.

Small beer on the scheme of things, but Warner should be sent back to Hull and we should make keeping Pentney a bigger priority. We need a decent first choice goalie. Stockdale is decent but makes a fair few errors, Warner has howler written all over him though.

Makes me laugh people on here deciding who or not we should sign. At the end of the day we don't attend training sessions or behind the scenes so to judge people like astrijt (sp) on a few cameo appearances is a joke.

I for one have faith in pearson's judgement.

But it's all part of being a football fan of a professional football club. Fans have done it since the beginning of time, used to be in pubs but now it's done on internet forums as well.

No disrespect to Pearson but managers do get it wrong, they're not infallible as we Leicester City fans know only too well.

Nicky Adams Staying

Tony Warner we are in talks with Hull. Not to loan but to sign.

Astrit Ajdarevic will sign if club and player can agree on terms.

:/

Barry Hayles left the club already and is trying to get a one year deal at a League two team.

Thank god for that. :D

Ive got no problem with people speculating as like you said is part and parcel of being a football fan.

I just think people have to have a bit more faith in the management and realise that the manager has a bigger perspective on the players than we do. Maybe it's just the football manager culture we live in now.

It's always been the same since I've been watching football, there's just more opportunity to do it now with players and managers changing so often and with the loanee system. I can't really see what your problem with it is. I think your taking people's speculating and player wishing too seriously.

Just think people need to give the management a bit more respect thats all. Im not overly serious either, couldn't really care much at all just wanted to put my point across.

So are we planning to splash the cash on 2 new strikers next season then knowitall :dunno:

With only Fryatt, Howard and Dickov (assuming Chambers is loaned out and Dj sold) we are looking fooking weak.

Lets not forget Fryatt and Howard were both fooking shocking last season in the Championship and Dickov struggled even in League One.

With those 3 as a strikeforce we will go down next season.

All the more reason to try and keep Dj just for that extra option at least.

We must have other strikers in the pipeline or theres no way NP would let Dj and Chambers go, Fryatt and Howard could very easily be the same as they were last season in the Championship, which would leave us with Dickov.

If Fryatt and Howard are useless again, and we don't have 2 new quality strikers in the pipeline, we will go straight back down, very very easily.

Who will we sign though :dunno:

I will say it again, Fryatt, Howard and Dickov are an extremely weak strikeforce.

Unless Fryatt and Howard miraculously raise their games in that League we will go down, because we won't score goals.

Hello. Who will we sign???

Any of the top scorers in League one may not cut it in the Championship, the entire League will be after Kevin Phillips assuming Birmingham don't want him in the Prem, so who the fook will get us the goals to keep us up? To give us a mid-table finish? To secure a playoff place :giggle:

WHOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO

OOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO

We have 9 goals in 20 games striker in our squad, we should be happy about that.

Keep the Deej :chant::jump::banana::yahoo::celebrate::scarf::bounce::D:P

WHY? I asked you a question!

Give me one VALID reason as to why we should keep DJ!!

Because he's scored 9 goals in 20 games @ Blackpool in the League we are playing in next season.

Fryatt scored 2 more than that in 81 games in the Championship. And he's supposedly our best striker.

I just can't understand this, surely the whole point of sending Deej out on loan was to give him games, get him match fit, build up his confidence and hope he scores goals.

He's back on goalscoring form now, it seems blatantly obvious to at least try and keep him.

I just hope Pearson has a one to one with him and talks to him about it again, and if he still says he don't want to be here then fine.

Dj 9 goals in his last 20 Championship appearences. Fryatt 11 goals in his last 81 appearences in the Championship.

That embarassing statistic for Fryatt says it all really.

Look at Howard's last two FULL seasons in the Championship.

For two different clubs as well.

I'm surprised we're getting Warner back in, I'd have thought if he was going to sign any keeper up it would have been Martin or even Bunn who seemed to settle in straight away.

The only person who can make ** ******** leave is the player himself. If he applies himself the same way that Fryatt did in pre-season and notches a goal or two he puts himself in the frame for at least a place on the bench and if Fryatt or Howard suffer Championshipitis again. Does he want to play for us in front of 25000 each week, with an ambitious chairman and manager or does he want to go to Blackpool and settle for being the big fish in the small pond? His comments suggest it's the second and if that's right then good riddance, there are plenty of 20-goal strikers out there who can do his job.

Look at Howard's last two FULL seasons in the Championship.

Blows Campbell's record out of the water.

But if Fryatt continues in that vein he will get a maximum of 6 goals next season.

Dickov will chip in with 5 tops.

Even if Howard musters up 20, highly unlikely, thats not many goals.

I'm just very worried now, of course it will be problem solved if Fryatt scores like he did this season and Howard remains decent.

But oldies Howard and Dickov will have a massive struggle next season.

IF Fryatt continues his horrible Championship form then quite simply we are doomed.

Unless Cadburys boy can do a Lampard/Gerrard/Ronaldo from Midfield.

about half of which were pens, which he wouldn't take here...

Fryatt or Howard take our penalties

Well the 3 who were relegated from the Championship this season scored an average of about 52 goals.

So we are going to have to muster up at least that amount of goals and have an ok defence in the league to survive.

The playoff dream next season which we all want, averaged 68.5 goals each.

We need loads of goals or a fantastic defence.

I just think we will struggle for goals, BUT Birmingham should be a side who we should look at and follow their example, unbelieveably they scored less goals than Norwich and got promoted.

I can't actually believe that, thats incredible. 2nd place scored less goals than 22nd place, incredible.

BUT this is what we need to emulate, Birmingham only conceded 17 goals at home and 20 goals away in the season, just 37 in total.

Lets hope Tunch and co are at their best, that just shows that if we can have a decent defence again, there is a chance of a playoff place with little goals.
