Lillehamring Posted 20 May 2009 Posted 20 May 2009 ok - forget about your favourite band, or the song that reminds you of a holiday or an unrequited love.... which song(s) would you give anything to be able to say 'I wrote that' (try and post a link) ...i'll start the ball rolling: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=n7CuJ8cR9sg...feature=related (sorry the embed is pooped)
Guest Posted 20 May 2009 Posted 20 May 2009 My favourite song ever. Seriously, it's got everything you need
Libertine Posted 20 May 2009 Posted 20 May 2009 I know it said forget about your favourite bands etc, but if I ever write anything like some of Buckethead's softer songs then I will be quite simply, a genius. Like this: 'For Mom' 'Big D's Touch' 'Witches on the Heath' Loads more. I wouldn't mind writing the badass rock songs either, but they're the most byoodeefull.
lildave3 Posted 20 May 2009 Posted 20 May 2009 I wish i'd wrote Mr Blobby. I could have been a novelty millionaire.
DANGEROUS TIGER Posted 21 May 2009 Posted 21 May 2009 "What More Do You Want" by the Ivy League, Fantastic.
Rocket-Ron Posted 21 May 2009 Posted 21 May 2009 "Will Smith doesn't have to cuss in his rap to sell records Well I do So fook him and fook you too" I dont generally like Eminem, But this sure makes me chuckle http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=39PaQmIX0r8
Lillehamring Posted 26 May 2009 Author Posted 26 May 2009 Slide Away or Don't go away. i'd have been proud of penning that one...
Babylon Posted 26 May 2009 Posted 26 May 2009 i'd have been proud of penning that one... Maybe a bit obvious, but I love this song. name="allowFullScreen" value="true"></param><param name="allowscriptaccess" value="always"></param><embed src=" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" allowscriptaccess="always" allowfullscreen="true" width="425" height="344"></embed></object>"> name="allowFullScreen" value="true"></param><param name="allowscriptaccess" value="always"></param><embed src=" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" allowscriptaccess="always" allowfullscreen="true" width="425" height="344"></embed></object>" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" wmode="transparent" width="425" height="350">
Lillehamring Posted 26 May 2009 Author Posted 26 May 2009 - nah, that opinion is on record here many times! Maybe a bit obvious, but I love this song. thank god you didn't put bohemian rhapsody!
Fosse Boy Posted 26 May 2009 Posted 26 May 2009 Any of the Scouting for Girls songs, because I could have written their entire album in less time than it takes to microwave a Rustlers.
Edmund Posted 26 May 2009 Posted 26 May 2009 name="allowFullScreen" value="true"></param><param name="allowscriptaccess" value="always"></param><embed src=" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" allowscriptaccess="always" allowfullscreen="true" width="425" height="344"></embed></object>"> name="allowFullScreen" value="true"></param><param name="allowscriptaccess" value="always"></param><embed src=" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" allowscriptaccess="always" allowfullscreen="true" width="425" height="344"></embed></object>" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" wmode="transparent" width="425" height="350">Love the lyrics on this so this is my choice. It's quirky and doesn't make a whole lot of sense unless you know the meaning behind the tune. Also I'm a walrus by the beatles, quality.
Lillehamring Posted 30 May 2009 Author Posted 30 May 2009 this is a song that i am truly envious of... great lyrics, great chords, harmonies - amazing dynamics especially when the final verse kicks in after the break... oh, and the video (once the twins vanish) is very, um, watchable
Finnegan Posted 30 May 2009 Posted 30 May 2009 Stairway. I personally think it's boring but it's everywhere and gets lots of great little fictional references.
Trav Le Bleu Posted 31 May 2009 Posted 31 May 2009 Which song has made the most money? Cos that's the one I'd like to have written! However, on artistic merit, I'd quite like to have written... (simply for the "I'm so horny, that's ok, my will is good" line - genius!) or this little tear-jerker
Lillehamring Posted 31 May 2009 Author Posted 31 May 2009 or this little tear-jerker which, i believe is a jacques brel, um, tune... there is a very cool version by the beach boys, produced, bizzarely by terry jacks...
purpleronnie Posted 31 May 2009 Posted 31 May 2009 Chimes of Freedom - Bob Dylan they don't write them like that anymore, mores the pity.
lou Posted 22 November 2009 Posted 22 November 2009 Which ever songs earned the most royalties in history. (Shallow I know but I want to be rich)
