Milky Posted 11 June 2009 Posted 11 June 2009 wow this thread gets busy when things go badly! I'll join the moan in... Dimi seems a myth when it comes to batting. He's only actually done it once for us. Foster isn't good enough with the bat either. I'd actually rather have Nixon!! Or Mustard at least tries to give it some. The middle order looks poor really. As for Collingwood, he throws his wicket away at a crucial time, when he should've played a captains innings. 140 could've been enough. Then when needing 10 wickets to win he doesn't have a slip in place! kallis would've gone early. lets all have a moan in, na na na na oi!
purpleronnie Posted 11 June 2009 Posted 11 June 2009 Ronnie - it wasn't really a case of 'England not beating the Dutch'.We didn't do too badly against them, we could have set a higher target and bowled better, made better decisions at the death but it was more down to an inspired Dutch performance. We beat Pakistan comfortably. What was the problem there? Not impressed with your HD picture? So we played well against the dutch apart from not bowling that well or batting or making good decisions. It was a great win against Pakistan but they aint gonna win it, SA might. Do you honestly think we can win it? If so I like your positivity but I cant see it. p.s. Not sure what you meant by not being impressed with my HD picture?
David Guiza Posted 11 June 2009 Posted 11 June 2009 At the end of the day i think the only way we will ever be a good side in 20/20 is the ECB actually selected 20/20 players such as Allemby for example. We are simply not as good as teams like South Africa and India when it comes to 20/20. Which is the same with the Aussie's to be fair.
Craig Posted 11 June 2009 Posted 11 June 2009 Oh dear I should have stayed at home. Really really poor. We're better than that.
Milky Posted 12 June 2009 Posted 12 June 2009 Oh dear I should have stayed at home.Really really poor. We're better than that. You should've asked ronnie. He sees it all coming.
purpleronnie Posted 12 June 2009 Posted 12 June 2009 You should've asked ronnie. He sees it all coming. Too right. I predicted England would beat Andorra too, genius eh?
Edmund Posted 12 June 2009 Posted 12 June 2009 Is the Ashes on sky? I hope it is cause David Lloyd is a dappa. I really enjoy his commentary.
Milky Posted 12 June 2009 Posted 12 June 2009 Is the Ashes on sky? I hope it is cause David Lloyd is a dappa. I really enjoy his commentary. yep. These Indians have gone very quiet.
Brainy Posted 12 June 2009 Posted 12 June 2009  could rely on you to bring up the Indian noise
Milky Posted 12 June 2009 Posted 12 June 2009  could rely on you to bring up the Indian noise It was too good to last <_<
Edmund Posted 12 June 2009 Posted 12 June 2009 It was too good to last <_< There on fire now. I tuned in and they were doing shocking but have turned a leaf. Lucky with the drop though. Edit: wicket
purpleronnie Posted 12 June 2009 Posted 12 June 2009 I think the Houston sun is getting to me but I fancy a big outside bet on West Indies..........or India. Now I'm worried, they would have to make the final but if they do I could have made a shitfull of dosh, why is it when you want a side to lose they always win!!!!! EDIT: Actually I think it was for them to reach the semis i think it was 28-1.
David Guiza Posted 12 June 2009 Posted 12 June 2009 West Indies look a decent side today. Without Gayle as well batting wise as he got out early on which shows there not a one man side. South Africa or Windies i reckon to win it.
Sparky Posted 12 June 2009 Posted 12 June 2009 Now I'm worried, they would have to make the final but if they do I could have made a shitfull of dosh, why is it when you want a side to lose they always win!!!!!EDIT: Actually I think it was for them to reach the semis i think it was 28-1. Nah , u wouldnt have got 28/1 for them winning it . Id be suprised if it was more than 7/2 for them to reach the semis
purpleronnie Posted 12 June 2009 Posted 12 June 2009 Nah , u wouldnt have got 28/1 for them winning it . Id be suprised if it was more than 7/2 for them to reach the semis Maybe but this was before the tournament and after we had thrashed them, anyway....
Corky Posted 12 June 2009 Posted 12 June 2009 The result we wanted. Now let's hope South Africa win and we beat India and the West Indies. Will be enough to put us through.
Ultra Posted 12 June 2009 Posted 12 June 2009 The way yesterday's game went, we'll be struggling to beat either. Cracking innings by Bravo, though.
David Guiza Posted 13 June 2009 Posted 13 June 2009 Pakistan looked 10times better today in the first innings. If they lose from here i may streak .
Joe. Posted 13 June 2009 Posted 13 June 2009 That's a quality fielding innings from Pakistain, bowled New Zealand out for 99.
Ultra Posted 13 June 2009 Posted 13 June 2009 An impressive win for Pakistan. Looks like they'll meet South Africa in the semis though..
Corky Posted 13 June 2009 Posted 13 June 2009 Great performance from Pakistan, to get a Test side out for 99 in this format takes some doing.
Guest Mickyblueeyes Posted 14 June 2009 Posted 14 June 2009 Boy did Umer Gul make me eat my word's!!! Top performance!! The lad Aamir looks a fantastic prospect as well. India V England today, must win for both sides. India's batting line up is ruthless especially "Mr Six" Yuvraj. Apart from Zaheer Khan there bowling attack is considerably weaker. Shama, apart from the one of the warm up games has looked mediocre. Pathan is the weak link and must be targetted by our boys. Harbajhan has a attitude problem and if we can get to him early he will let his emotions take over. I see Bopara and Shah being vital to any success we have today. Both need to get in a bat responsibly.KP is due a decent innings in 20/20 as well. Bowling, just like the Indian's maybe our problem area.Broad is hit and miss when he does perform he looks decent when he doesnt,,,,well Yuvraj will tell you about that. Anderson is our best bowler and we need him to perform if we are to stand any chance. Young Rashid could be our surprise star of the tournament. His performance against SA was very good for a 20 yr old against some powerful players. Should be a good contest.
