SOCCERROO FOX Posted 9 June 2009 Posted 9 June 2009 Ponting's a knobthe rest of the players are below par, thank god the domination of the world by the Aussies has ended Why is he a knob in your opinion? Mitch Johnson in the top 3 pace bowlers in the world. Haddin top 3 keepers in the world. Clarke and Hughes very very good Bats. Just don't expect anything in 20/20
welck12 Posted 9 June 2009 Posted 9 June 2009 the rest of the players are below par, thank god the domination of the world by the Aussies has ended If you believe that your an idiot. The main reason the aussies have been so dominant for years is the strength in depth that they have. If a player got injured or lost form there was always someone waiting in the wings, take phil jaques for example he had to wait a long time to get his chance, but you can argue he should start for a lot of test nations. The only 2 players that they never really had cover for was warney and mcgrath. Now granted they are no-where close to replacing warney, but they have quite a few good young (by young for the aussies i mean 26/27) seamers coming in who can do a job. Add to that the batting line-ups that they can put out and they can still be lethal. The only reason you can claim their domination is ending is beacuse now they are only mealry "beating" teams as oppose to annihalating them. T20 cricket is a form of the game that the aussies have very little experience in, if they actually cared about it they would be up there with the best of them

Corky Posted 9 June 2009 Posted 9 June 2009 This will have no bearing on the Ashes. We had all this when we thrashed them in 20/20 in 2005, yet did it affect the Test series? Not at all. As FYF has said, our team will be a lot different, and I'm sure their's will too.
Guest Mickyblueeyes Posted 9 June 2009 Posted 9 June 2009 With the Aussie's out and England entering the group of death I'm slightly more worried then before in regards to the Ashes. The Aussie player's are horrible after a defeat and two weeks to stew over it is going to pump them up even more. They havent perform over this format but the other two forms of the game they're still up there with the best. We may be on the verge of three crumbling defeat's in the super8 and the media in this country love to put the pressure on. I'm not happy about Pietersen playing through the pain barrier so close to the Ashes. All this Aussie's are no longer a force is ridiculous they may not have the Mcgrath's or Warne's but Johnson, Clark et al aint bad replacement's!!! Even at there "weakest" they still have more higher ranked players then England!!!
Craig Posted 9 June 2009 Posted 9 June 2009 If we lose, it'l ruin our chances in the Ashes. If we win, it'l ruin our chance in the Ashes. This tournament will have no bearing on the Ashes whatsoever.
SMX11 Posted 9 June 2009 Posted 9 June 2009 The aussies were just poor yesterday, Brett Lee threw the game away with his constant no balls/wides, Shane Watson couldn't get in Leicestershires 20/20 team and i thought the best bowler was the part time spin of Michael Clarke. Enjoy Leicester Ricky
Cobbo Posted 9 June 2009 Posted 9 June 2009 Was a very enjoyable day yesterday Bangladesh and Sri Lanka fans are LOUD.
Milky Posted 9 June 2009 Posted 9 June 2009 Pakistan need to win by 25 runs now they've chosen to bat. Tricky.
Fox You Forest Posted 9 June 2009 Posted 9 June 2009 I'm surprised they're letting the Netherlands chase, They've started well mind.
Fox You Forest Posted 9 June 2009 Posted 9 June 2009 175-5 Pakistan got, Netherlands need 151 to go through on net run rate. Going to be tight i think.
Sparky Posted 9 June 2009 Posted 9 June 2009 Pakistan 175-5 off 20 overs Holland need 151 to qualify and eliminate Pakistan
Sparky Posted 9 June 2009 Posted 9 June 2009 Holland 48-3 off 8.4 ................not looking good for them edit 49-4 now
