purpleronnie Posted 6 June 2009 Posted 6 June 2009 Winnings the most important thing, it would have been great if we could hold onto the ball more because we'll have to when we play good sides, but 4-0 away is still pretty good. Another easy win in the next game and we'll almost be there.

Uncle Albert Posted 6 June 2009 Posted 6 June 2009 England were never going to be able to play glorious football today with that awful pitch and the amount of bodies in the middle of the park. I think 4-0 was a good scoreline to be fair. Walcott was bloody awful I thought, his and SWP's first touch's today were in one word SHIT. Walcott couldn't play a single ball into the box and he struggled to beat him man on many occasion. Glen Johnson was poor and should of been brought off earlier, said it all about Johnson's performance by putting SWP at right back last 20-25 minutes. I thought Lampard was good today supported Gerrard, Rooney and Heskey well the link up play between Gerrard and Lampard for Heskey's shot that hit the post was pleasing to see. Gerrard's new position for England is alot more effective now, he can do what he likes as such and come inside to get the ball and he is capable of playing out on the wing and played a super ball with his chocolate leg for Barry's header. Man of the Match for me went to Wayne Rooney or possibly even Ashley Cole. Neither stopped running and Ashley Cole was easily England's best defender and he as usual supported attacks well and was unlucky not to score. Rooney just shades it with his great goal.

Not taking anything away from England we played some good stuff every now and again, but tbh I feel 4-0 does slightly flatter us, Read the papers tomorrow or hear some fans views and we'll be world beaters for beating Kazakhstan 4-0, if we played a half decent team we'd have struggled I feel, our defence look quite dodgy on the odd occasion. But as I said lets take nothing away from England, and lets judge when we do play a half decent team (No disrespect to Kazakhstan).

Win on Wednesday I think we only need to win our next game to have qualified. Which would be nice, McManaman said the sooner we qualify means more games for Capello to tinker with the squad and try a few changes.

But we avoided the banana skins and achieved another impressive result. Let's round the season off in style by giving the pub team a good hiding on Wednesday!
